This is my second ninja coffee maker, and I love it just as much as the first. One thing that I think is an awesome improvement on this model is the versatility of the water reservoir. Depending on the counter space you have available, it can either go on the side, or it can attach to the back. I love having the option to put it on the back because I can put it in the corner of one of my countertops and have way more space on either side of it than I did before. Since I’m limited on counter space in my kitchen, that’s a huge plus. In comparing my previous ninja coffee maker to this one, the other feature that I love on the new one is that it can use K cups. The older model did allow you to make single cups of coffee, but you still had to use the regular filter, not K cups.To be honest there’s really nothing about this coffee maker that I don’t like. The design is an improvement on the old, but you still get them quality ninja product you expect. Lastly, I am all about the thermal carafe. I think it’s a must for coffee because it really does keep it warmer longer, without having to be reheated. I may be a bit of a snob when it comes to reheated coffee but it just doesn’t taste the same to me. This is the most versatile coffee maker I’ve ever owned and ninja just continues to impress me.

The Ninja Dual Brew Pro is Amazing!

I’ve gone through my fair share of coffee makers from Keurig, Nespresso, and basic coffee maker for ground coffee. With my limited space, there’s just not enough space for all of them. I’ve always been wary of 2in1 systems because they either suck at being both or they’re good at one thing and not for the other. Well, let me put those fears to rest if you have them too. The Ninja Dual Brew Pro does an amazing job of being awesome at brewing K-Cups and ground coffee without any compromises. It does it without being over complicated when switching from K-Cup to ground coffee, and it does a much better job at K-Cups compared to my previous Keurig machine that almost costs as much as this one. From unboxing to set up took less than 5 mins. There is not a whole lot of moving parts to install, which is another good thing that helps keep things simple to use. Once you installed the water tank, a milk frother, and the K-Cup pod adapter you’re good to go. If you want to brew some ground coffee, all you have to do is push the K-Cup pod adapter to the unlock position, remove it by picking it up. After that just make sure you have your coffee filter installed and just slide the sliding lid when you’re done adding your ground coffee. The system is smart enough to know what type of coffee you are brewing either K-Cup or grounds. Another big plus for me is how easily you can clean the K-Cup Pod adapter and the cleanliness. The previous Keurig system I was not of fan how quickly it needed to be cleaned to prevent cross-contamination of flavors, and removing around 3-5 parts to fully clean it. With the Ninja Dual Brew Pro, it’s cut down to 2 parts, the brew basket, and the K-Cup pod adapter. The K-Cup pod adapter is much easier to clean, without needing to take it apart. Ninja has made sure that maintenance and cleaning weren’t going to be a chore. It does use a #4 Coffee filter for ground coffee which is inexpensive. There are a couple of brew options available for K-Cup and ground coffee. Classic: for smooth well-balanced flavor. Rich: for a more intense flavor that stands up to milk, cream, or flavoring. Specialty: for making cappuccinos and lattes(limited to 4oz). Over Ice: for making Iced Coffee. One of the other features it has is hot water mode. With the water outlet being separate from the coffee outlet, so your hot or boiled water won’t taste like coffee for your soup or tea. I like this feature since keeping it separate makes sure that my hot water is free from coffee residue. You also have your other features like setting up a timer for your coffee to brew for a later time. The flexibility of moving the water tank to the back if needed to. Overall I’m extremely happy with the Ninja Dual Brew Pro. It allows us to have the best of both worlds the quickness of a K-Cup when you’re on the go and the value of ground coffee for your guests. I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited about a coffee machine lol, yeah it’s that good.

    DOES NOT KEEP COFFEE WARM

It does not have a heated carafe like every $20+ coffee maker. So it makes good coffee but unless you drink the coffee all within 1 hour its going to start cooling off (insulated coffee pot is alright but seriously why even build this to save a few dollars?). Just get the more expensive one that keeps your coffee warm or buy something different.

    Very Efficient and Effective

I appreciate that this Ninja system has so many well working options in a small footprint. While I found the written instructions to be disjointed, the control display was pretty intuitive, allowing you to choose your coffee size and strength, or your size and temp for hot water. I was pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of the stainless steel carafe in retaining heat, even with the open brewing hole on the top. Immediate brews measured about 152 degrees F. After three hours in the pot, it was still measuring at an enjoyable 110. The hot water options for tea or other uses were either Hot or Boil. These measured about 148 and 180 degrees, respectively. A noticeable difference, but not technically a boiling point if that matters for your purposes. It’s much appreciated that the hot water line is separate from the coffee brewing line, so you don’t get any coffee residue or taint in the hot water. Choosing between Classic and Rich settings seemed to create a slight drop in the water used for the brew, so you just end up with a less diluted coffee when you choose Rich. It did taste a bit more robust, so it’s a nice feature when you have different preferences in your family of coffee drinkers. The Ninja includes a pod option, requiring a very simple drop-in piece. It’s a snap, and easy to use. It is not compatible with reusable pods, which might matter to some people. But with single-use pods, it worked just fine. There is also an optional piece for frothing, which I found equally simple, just swing out the arm, snap in the piece and press the button. It frothed like a charm. The Ninja provides a way to move the water tank from the side to the back in a simple maneuver, saving a few inches in width if your counter space is small. I didn’t find this to be especially helpful as having the tank in the back made it harder to access and pour into, so I ended up turning the entire machine sideways to do it. So, ultimately, the tank on the side worked best for me. All in all, I liked the Ninja system very much and would highly recommend it.

    Excellent coffee maker

I’ve had this about a month now and it’s by far the best coffee maker I’ve ever had. I love the convenience of being able to use pods or ground coffee. Switching between the two modes is as simple as removing or reinstalling the pod adapter, which only takes a second. The touch screen interface is sleek and elegant. The number of options can seem daunting at first, but it is intuitive and easy to learn. You simply insert your pod or grounds, pick the type of brew you want, select the desired ounces, and you’re good to go. It has four brew modes. Classic is basically a regular cup of coffee. “Rich” produces a bolder flavor but fewer ounces of coffee. “Over ice” is just what it sounds like. Simply fill your cup with ice before brewing and you’ll be sipping a delicious iced coffee in no time. Finally, the “specialty” option brews 4 ounces of extra strong coffee so you can make special drinks. It also has a built in milk frother that collapses into the side of the unit and is simple to remove and clean. It includes a smart scoop that tells you how many scoops to use for various sizes of drinks or carafes. It also has an independent hot water system you can use to make tea or oatmeal or whatever else you may need. I would recommend getting a permanent filter to use with ground coffee so you won’t have to worry about getting paper filters. I highly recommend this to any coffee lover. Its sleek design, ease of use, and versatility make this an excellent appliance that will be brewing delicious coffee for many years to come.

Love the ease, automation and breadth of features. The metal thermal pot is apparently only available at Best Buy. My only complaint is that the brew isn't particularly hot, but a quick micorwave take care of that. Great that you fill the water reservoir and it ony uses the volume you program.

It makes fantastic pod coffee, no heat in frother

This is a fine coffee machine and does almost everything I wanted, except the frother is just frother and hence does not heat ( I guess it should be rated 4.5 but the taste is good and it takes very less time).. I started it with ground coffee using the filter it came with and that tasted okay. As it comes equipped with the pod adapter, next I tried various flavors of holidays blend, from pumpkin spice to caramel mocha & cinnamon dolce etc. It does it very fast and it is hot (though if you are going to add cold milk, you may need to heat it up). Rich and classic, where rich creates stronger coffee both works as described. I used "rich" for flavors which has very lightly roasted and that does increase the intensity. The water jar placement at back or side is perfect option for narrow spaces. We have placed ours in the family room where the slab is not very deep, so side works for us. There is a clean cycle to remove calcium etc. from the machine and it runs for a long time, make sure to use a big jug with that. There is also a delay option where you can specify what time you want the coffee to start. Overall a good looking machine, with nice features and great tasting coffee.

    Best coffee maker I’ve owned

Coffee makers are a dime a dozen, but this one really does the best job I’ve seen in a while. I love the ease of single serve and the ability to brew a full pot for lots of coffee and I haven’t seen a coffee pot that does both so well in such a compact package. The coffee pot comes with a great thermal carafe, a measuring spoon, and a single serve attachment that fits cleverly inside the coffee basket. The maker itself uses a cone style filter which works great. Setting up and using the coffee pot is very easy. The water reservoir can be adjusted to sit behind or beside the coffee maker. Then you select one of the preset ounce measurements between 6 and 55 oz. Switching between a pot and single serve is very easy. All you do is slide the single serve attachment into the basket and lock it into place and it will work with and k cup. The coffee tastes great and is super functional. It also has all the standard features that you’d expect on a coffee maker, from delay brew and a strength adjusted. Overall this is a really sleek, good looking highly functional coffee maker that will check all the boxes you’re looking for in a coffee maker.

I wanted something I could use to brew both single cups and entire pots, but this does so much more. The system for switching between K-cups and ground coffee is really ingenious. It minimizes the amount of additional pieces you have to deal with, and the brewer can tell which you're set up to use, so it only presents you with the choices you need. You can easily select the size of cup you're using or how much of a pot to make. You can select different brew strengths (beyond just how much coffee you're adding to the filter basket). There's even an intelligent drip cutoff in case you want to grab a cup out of the pot in mid-brew (or if you accidentally tell it to fill a larger mug than the one you put on the stand). The coffee comes out hot (I measured it at 175 with my bluetooth-connected coffee mug), and it stayed warm for hours in the carafe (still 145, three hours later). You can even reconfigure it so the water reservoir sits behind the pot inside of beside it, if space is a concern. If you love coffee, but you don't always need a full pot, or sometimes want to brew more than one cup at a time, I can't recommend this highly enough.

The most well designed coffee maker I have ever owned. Narrow foot print with water reservoir in the back or side. Built in frother and fold down tray for cups. Uses a basket or K-Cups for brewing plus several strengths of brewing. A control for brewing coffee or hot water for tea and all programable.

My wife loves her half pot of brewed ground coffee every morning and I like the convenience of a pod brewer. So we have our pod machine next to our traditional coffee pot on the kitchen counter, taking up space that our old kitchen just can't spare. When we saw that Ninja came out with a dual brew system I had to check it out and I'm glad I did. The controls are very simple and she loves that (she's not big on bells and whistles... she's happy to turn it on and push brew). It offers all the features of most standard coffee machines. It even comes with a whisk frother that hinges out from the left side. The whisk is easily removed for cleaning but honestly we don't froth much. The insulated caraffe helps keep the fresh brewed coffee nice and hot long enough for my wife to finish her half pot. I do love that the water reservoir can be moved from the side to the back if you want to shove it in a counter corner where depth isn't an issue. For us we kept it on the side. For me to use my K-cup pods I have to slide back the basket cover and drop in the pod module. The machine recognizes that it's either in standard brew mode or in pod mode so no special settings needed. Just dial up the size and press brew. I will nit-pick a bit though. It should come with a reusable grounds basket instead of relying on #4 paper coffee filters. We did purchase an aftermarket basket but it's not a perfect fit as was our last Ninja basket. I had to remove the basket handle to get it to fit correctly. The other issue is what to do with the pod module when not in use. It would have been nice to have it stow on the machine itself but instead I it is loose and you need to find a cabinet or drawer to place it when not in use. Did I mention I have a small kitchen? Yeah it's a bit nit-picky and it does still brew good coffee. My wife is happy with the standard brew and I'll live with sticking the pod module into a cabinet when I'm not using it. It does fit both standard brew and pod brew methods if that appeals to you. I'd recommend it!

I am typically skeptical of anything that is advertised as a “2 in 1” device…. That usually means they don’t do any of those things very well, and just do them “well enough”. My wife’s not thrilled with my coffee bar area of our kitchen. I have a standard coffee pot, and a K-cup brewer. They take up a lot of space and aren’t exactly pretty to look at on the countertop. That’s why this 2-in-1 is a game changer. K-cups for that quick morning hitter? I got you! Make a full pot for you and then wife on a Saturday morning? No problem. Having family over for thanksgiving and need to have pot after pot of coffee ready to go? Yesssiiir! It’s easy to switch from k-cup to standard brew. Take out the K-cup adapter and put in the filter, and BOOM you’re set. It brews fast and hot, and the taste has been amazing! I already gave my Keurig away. If this thing keeps performing like it has been I’m giving away my old coffee pot next.

I had been using a Ninja - Coffee Bar 1-Cup Coffee Maker for 5 years. This is a big step up. Does what you want with hot water. Setup is simple, unpack, connect the milk frother, and plug in. The water reservoir can be on the side or the back so help fit where you want it. A simple shifting of the reservoir base changes the location. It holds enough water for 12 cups to fill the included Carafe. When using the Carafe, the base can also heat to help keep the coffee warm. There is a fold out stand for smaller cups. Once assemble and plugged in, you set the time. On the left of the unit is a water or coffee selector. When its' on coffee, the K-cup or coffee menu options are available on the touch screen. The K-cup adapter comes installed. If in, K-cup options come up. Select the size and style of serving you want. Pop in the K-cup and push on the button displaying time. K-cup product is made. Open the lid, remove the K-cup and you're ready for the next one. The K-cup adapter locks in to place and you unlock and slide the top back to unlock it. It then easily lifts out to clean or make room for coffee. The brew basket is used with the coffee maker. For coffee, with the K-cup adapter removed, the coffee brew basket remains. It does not come with a metal filter, but they are available. One Number 4 paper filter is included. Use a filter, and the scoop to put in the grounds needed for the amount to make, Again, you can dial in the size and type of brew you want to make. The touch screen is responsive and shows your selection. Slide the cover shut and start brewing. There is a open/close selector on the basket to use as needed. Switching the dial on the left from Coffee to water changes your options. For water you can select the amount and if you want hot or boiling. Hot is great for making hot chocolate or anything you want to drink right away. It's hot, but not burning hot. The boiling selection is for making tea, oatmeal, cup of noodles, or other food items that need boiling water. It's hot enough for cooking the items. From start until the water first comes out is only a few seconds delay. The best thing on the water dispenser is the output is a separate dispenser from the coffee one. So, it's just water, no chance of other tastes mixing in with the water. On the side is a milk frother, it does not heat, just froths. After you connect it, you just pop it out as needed. Instructions and a recipe pamphlet are included. From setup to use it's pretty easy. From hot water to K-cups, to ground coffee the unit has prepared everything with no issues. Everything has tasted great.
