Looks like NASA made it! This thing is amazing!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first pressure cooker and honestly I think it will be my last for quite a while! The look and feel and quality of the cooker is superb! R2-D2 doesn't have #@$ on this! haha But seriously though, I'm definitely glad I chose this to be my first cooker. The simplicity of the buttons and functions made this child's play to work and get the hang of. The big bright LED screen and the center jog dial made any task at hand a breeze. I love anything high tech and this is my new favorite tech toy of the kitchen. IT does so many different things all in one device. One thing I look forward to trying is the dehydration to make some banana chips. The fact that it air crisps also is beneficial to me because anyone who's trying to lose wait can eliminate using all of that grease and oil. Same things goes for french fries, even though it's going to be a hard transition! I love my deep fryer! haha If you're looking to get a pressure cooker, air fryer, or dehydrator and much more I'd highly recommend this item. Once again Ninja doesn't disappoint !

The BEST Mulitfunction Cooker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yeah, I gave that title to the 6.5qt Foodi but this 8qt is 123% better! It does everything I need plus things I don't know I need yet. The Ninja Foodi Delux XL has made some improvements over last year's 8qt model. 60watts of extra power, yogurt function, and replaced the pad with a dial (not necessarily and improvement in my opinion). So I've used my old Ninja Foodi at least once a week since getting it. Unlike other multi-function cookers is that it comes with a function not found in most - an air crisper. This comes in handy because pressure cooking sometimes leaves some foods too wet for my tastes. Meatloaf, Ribs, Pot Roast, Chicken...most of them need a little hardening to give them some texture. Pure pressure cooked or slow cooked pulled pork just doesn't chew like real smoked porked. With the Foodi just flip on the crisper and you can add that extra crust you need to get everything just right. No need to carefully pick up the meal and carry it to the oven to broil and risk having things fall apart. This is one thing that makes the Foodi great. One improvement they've added over my 6.5 qt is that now the vent locks into the release position. The older one would slide back down 1/2 way to seal and take longer to release. Not a game changer, but a decent addition. Now the dial is a step back in my opinion for one reason only - if you sterilize items for canning (I know it's not 15psi, but I do some short term canning for personal use) you have to twist, twist, twist, twist, twist...etc. until I reach 3hrs (gotta do more than 90 since I can't reach 15psi). The older version I just hold the button down which is a bit easier. I don't do this often so it's not a problem that I'll have to deal with every week. I haven't tried slow cooking but I'm sure the twist is gonna be an issue there too. Another thing this version does is dehydrate. While I'll never use it since I have a bigger dehydrator it's nice to know that if I run out of space in my dehydrator I can use the Foodi as a back up. I plan on getting the dehydrating rack soon just for this. I don't think I'll ever own any other multi-function cooker other than a Ninja Foodi now. I'm a convert. It replaces so many different single use kitchen gadgets it makes it worth it for me. Icing on the cake is the built in air crisper (which can also be used as a broiler or bake). Nothing beats it!

Learning Curve but Satisfying Results
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never used a pressure cooker before and so this was my first time trying one out. I decided to start with the chicken and use the pressure cook setting but later air crisp it so it came out crispy. I was able to get it crispy at the end but too dry. I tried a second time and still not exactly the way I wanted it. The third time was the charm and it was crispy and juicy so it did take some time to learn. I have also made rice with the pressure cook setting as well as steamed vegetables. Once you learn how to use it you can literally make any dish and is especially useful for meal prepping. All the various setting whether it be pressure cooking, steam, broil, or air crisp can be used with a lot of different meals and the included cook book is also motivation to want to use it over and over again. The process of preparing food is relatively simple. I just prepared it and then dumped it in the cooker with the included racks, set the time/pressure/temp and let it do it's thing until it started beeping and steaming then I would let all the pressure out with the valve on top. The unit itself is really big and could easily feed a family of four if you make chicken, rice, and veggies. The only reason for the 4 stars was for the learning curve but for anyone that has used pressure cookers and air fryers then this should be familiar territory and I would highly recommend it. It's efficient and leaves you with great tasting food.

Another great Ninja product!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had the Ninja Foodi Deluxe Pressure Cooker and Air Fryer for a few weeks now and have been able to test a number of its different functions. Overall this is another solid multi-function unit from Ninja—the kings of ‘multi-use kitchen gadgets!’ The best thing so far, and my favorite use, is the air-fryer. I’ve always wanted to try an air fryer but didn’t like the buy-in for a device I wasn’t sure about. This is a great way to get into it, as this device does so many things, you’ll still feel like you got a good deal even if you don’t use all NINE functions. I don’t see myself ever using the yogurt function, and probably not the dehydrating function, but I’ve used the other seven and have been very impressed with how well it works. There is a learning curve, so be prepared to read a bit. The manual that is included is thorough, and there are a ton of videos online for in-depth demonstrations of any particular function. There is also a recipe book with some very tasty recipes! As far as ‘air-frying’ goes, it does a good job. It’s no substitute for good ol’ greasy fried food, but it’s so much healthier and such a close proximity to fried that it’s a decent substitute that is much healthier. It’s also very easy to do, and the food still tastes crispy. I had to try a few times and experiment with the crisper function—the first time was too much, the second time not enough, but I think I’ve got it now. I have made chicken strips and French fries so far, and both were delicious and not greasy. It’s fun to do and makes you feel like you’re doing something right for your body! The slow-cooker works well, and the 8-quart size is fantastic for our family of 5. This is 3-quarts bigger than the slow-cooker we already owned, so that’s one gadget that’s been replaced. Ninja is fantastic at making sure that there are a ton of options for each function. We made a 3-lb roast with vegetables and it turned out tender and juicy, and wasn’t overcooked even though it cooked for 8 hours. The pressure-cooker is terrific as well. It amazes me how fast a large roast can cook compared to oven time. Like any new device I had to experiment with it a bit to figure out the times that worked to get the meat done the way I liked it. Again, there are a ton of settings and options to try so it wasn’t too much work to find a setting. I’ve also tried the steamer and really enjoyed it—vegetables were crisp-tender without being soggy and tasted delicious. Another gadget replaced! The only down-side I’ve found is that with this buy-in price you still to pay extra for some accessories. There are a lot of items included, so really they are just specialty accessories, but at this price it would have been nice to have everything included with it. The one I really want is the bread pan. That’s really more of a ‘splurge’ item so it’s not too big a deal. Ninja does offer some nice discounts on accessories when you register your product. Overall, like most Ninja products, this device does a lot of things, and does them all very well! I’ll be replacing my current pressure-cooker (which is slightly larger than this) along with my crock pot, so it will save space too. With a family of five anything that helps me save space is a winner in my book!

A kitchen must-have
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had an electric pressure cooker for two years, and I love it, but the Foodi outperforms it by its sheer versatility. if you enjoy the speed and convenience of pressure cooking but are turned off by the lack of browning or crisping, the Foodi solves that problem. I've used it to cook an entire meal (Porck chops, brussel sprouts, and sweet potatoes) using the 360 meal guidelines, and everything came out tasty and beautiful as well. I've also used the air crisping option for onion rings, I've baked brownies, dehydrated bananas and strawberries, and made yogurt and it all came out easily. Be warned this is a HUGE machine, but it does so much it has earned its place on my counter. I've attached a picture of the Foodi next to a 6 at Instant Pot for size comparison.

Cooking made easy!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a different brand pressure cooker before this and I can say, this one is way better. My other one was good too but this one already has certain features that make it an awesome standard for a multi-cooking machine. First of all, this one has multiple functions. I do not have a lot of counter space, so having just one pot to cook rice, airfry and pressure cook is very important. The size is just right. The 8-quart size is perfect for larger meats. I purchased a pressure cooker before because I wanted to be able to cook frozen meats. However, since ribs off the shelf are usually long, I have to manage cutting it up in more parts. For the typical 6-quart cooker, it is hard to fit a slab of ribs. With this one, I only have to cut the ribs with less pieces, so the size is perfect. Controls are easy, it’s like the new luxury cars with that dial. Pretty straightforward. Build and design looks sturdy too so it’s something nice I can keep on top of my counter. So I tried the airfryer—sweet potato fries. Washed the potatoes, cut ‘em up and placed them in the basket. Super simple—and the kids loved it. Plus, no guilt from serving them "fried" food-- it's healthier! I also cooked some ribs soup. Placed a whole slab in there, cut up in 3 equal parts, frozen. In 45 minutes, the meat was falling off the bones. Everything is so simple. And you can say, it is a pressure cooker, so that’s expected. But what I liked about this one is, when I was depressurizing the container, the top valve hardly spewed out any liquid. My other pressure cooker spills liquid everytime I depressurize the lid. This one was hardly did! Cleaning was easy too. I think that’s another good thing. Plus, you can order some other accessories for other types of cooking. I am not a good cook at all. I do not even know how to cook before experiencing a pressure cooker. So pressure cookers are a great help to me. But this one, it is not just a typical pressure cooker. Just the airfryer combo is already a huge plus. I cannot imagine how else I can be a better cook with its other functions, that I have not even used. I just know, this will make me the new star of the kitchen.

Ninja Foodi Deluxe XL Pressure Cooker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I’ve been testing out this new Foodi Deluxe Pressure Cooker and Air Fryer with TenderCrisp unit for the last couple of weeks and I must say I love, love, love this thing so much. I’ve always wanted to get one and I’m glad I have one now. Once it arrived, I could hardly wait to open it and get to cooking. I cook so much through the week at work that I barely want to cook on the weekends. But this Deluxe Foodi arrived just in time for me to test out. Especially before the holidays. Upon opening the package, you are greeted with the 8 quart 9-in-1 Deluxe XL Foodi unit, the reversible stainless steel rack, the Crisping lid, the Pressure lid, an 8 quart ceramic pot, a 5 quart ceramic pot, a set of silicone mitts (which come in hand), a cookbook with more than 45 different recipes to get you started, a user manual book for operational use, and a quick start guide. Once I removed all of the cardboard and Styrofoam from the box, I got everything set up and using the quick start guide, attempted to run the first-time pressure cook 3 cup water test and I failed. Wasn’t sure if it was something I did wrong, which quite possibly could have been user error, or if it was a fluke of a start. However, nonetheless I made a second attempt which it started right up. I was already fairly used to how to operate the Foodi since I had recently acquired the Ninja Air Fryer last year’s Black Friday sale. But the Deluxe XL Foodi is a beast with a multitude of cooking functions. This thing can pressure cook, air fry/air crisp, steam, slow cook, yogurt, sear/sauté, steam, bake/roast, broil and dehydrate. After thawing out and seasoning up 2 pork tenderloins, I followed along with the guide in the back of the recipe cookbook, on how to pressure cook the tenderloins. In the back of the cookbook is a section that lists everything you need to do for pressure cooking, air frying/crisping, roasting/baking, etc. The chart tells you which lid to use as to how much water to use, and whether to use the quick vent or not. Following the steps for the pork tenderloins, I placed the tenderloins in the 8-quart pot with water and set the temperature and closed locked the pressure cooker lid down. I set the temperature and time and in just a few minutes (something that would normally take 45 minutes to an hour via a regular oven) I had 2 nice pieces of pork tenderloins. The pressure cooker had evenly cooked the meat all the way through and both pieces were juicy. The next day I used the air fryer to cook up a few chicken breasts. Seasoned them up, set the temp and time, and voila in 15 minutes I had some of the juiciest chicken breasts I’ve had in a long time (and normally I don’t like chicken breasts). This pressure cooker/air fryer is a must have for those who don’t always have a lot of time to cook, or for those who simply want to decrease the amount of time it takes to cook meals in the kitchen. You can even bake cakes in this thing. It’s amazing. I see myself cooking a lot more on the weekends now, instead of eating out. Just place the food in, place on the correct lid, set the temp/time, and walk away. The unit will beep and let you know when your meal is complete. You can’t go wrong with this unit.

Piece of Junk!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fan for air fryer lasted approximately 18 months. Of course this was past the 1 year warranty. I was told we would have to pay almost what a new one cost to repair the broken part? For the price you would think this would have lasted a lot longer! I will never buy another Ninja product and I recommend that you do not either!

||Posted . Buyer beware
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the ninja air fryer and loved it. So I bought a second one for my mother. It worked for about one week before the fan would quit operating intermittently. After three weeks fan would not work at all. Check the reviews and see that this is a common issue. But when I called Best Buy, they acted like they’ve never heard of the problem and was placed on hold until I finally gave up.. so hard getting support. Beware

Very complicated, not worth it
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja Foodi 9-in-1 I bought was defective. When I called the company to get help they confirmed that it was defective and offered to exchange it for a new one if I paid the $25 return fee! I was so mad that they wouldn't pick up the cost of delivery since they sold me a defective device that I told them to keep it. They said I had to take it back to Best Buys. Luckily Best Buys was great and let me return it with no questions asked.
