A blender that really cooks!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It slices, it dices, it juliennes......it cooks?! Ok maybe it doesn't julienne, but it does cook. Meet the blender that can actually boil water. So you can get your cold drinks, smoothies, etc whipped up in a flash. Or if you're feeling like grinding your soup to a pulp and eating it hot....no problem!! I don't know about you, but i'm just itching for a fondue at my next social gathering....in walks the Ninja Foodi blender that can get the job done. But in all seriousness, it's a blender that does a fantastic job of blending iced beverages; whipping up smoothies from fruit, etc.; or if you desire...cranking out some hot stuff. There's not really a whole lot more you can say about it. In typical Ninja fashion it's a great blender with a powerful motor. It's nice that this one comes with a glass pitcher vs the typical plastic one that you get with most of these. The built in programs are nice to put it on smoothie mode and walk away. You come back to a finished beverage. And it's even got a cleaning mode that heats up the water so that you can get it clean and sanitized. I definitely recommend!

What Will They Think Of Next?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What comes in the box: The motor base, 64 oz glass pitcher with heating element, a tamper and a cleaning brush. Comes with a small 25 recipe cookbook. There are lots of good recipes to try out and then make up your own. Uniqueness: Melt chocolate for a fondue; ahead of time make ice cream to put the left over melted chocolate over. Make hot soup; make cold soup. This is an amazing appliance that is great for all your blending needs hot or cold. The blending power is what you would expect from a Ninja product. This blender is so powerful that it will crush almost anything! Slurpies anyone? This blender has numerous preset buttons for making all sorts of things, such as smoothies, ice cream, sauces/dips, different type soups, etc. It even has an extract button. Just push a preset and watch it work. No need to do anything except add things as you need to. I have to admit that the heating element is a great feature and the reason I wanted this particular blender. I am going to let my imagination go wild with this feature, especially with soups. Can’t wait to try the chicken noodle soup recipe for this winter. Aside from being able to cook things, it uses the heat to clean and sanitize itself. There is a button for that. This is a good feature since you cannot put the glass pitcher into water because of the heating element attached to it. This is a tall appliance and it may not fit under some cabinets. You may want to take this into consideration and be sure you have space taking the height into consideration. It does have a small footprint to make up for its height. Now that winter is coming I will be making tons of different soups. Come next spring I will start making frozen margaritas, homemade ice cream, smoothies, etc!! With the heating element choice on this blender, there is no end to what you can cook up to make your busy life a little bit easier. How about some hot cocoa for a quick pick-me-up or in the summer make some specialty drinks to take out to the patio?

Stopped working
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received intermittent error codes after 3 months of heavy useand there was no option to manually blend. Wait time to talk to a Ninja support agent was always a half hour minimum. Then they told me to replace it that it would take 4-6 weeks & I would immediately have to cut the power cord off the base and send a picture to them before they processed it. So even if it intermittently worked I would now be without a blender 100% of the time (we make smoothies for breakfast 5-7 days a week. They also want me to pay for shipping cost of the new unit which seems like a faulty manufacturing job. Due to their poor customer support & ridiculous replacement policies I would not recommend Ninja anymore.

Good
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like that it has the ability to make hot food items. Ended up returning it as I felt, it would be another component that may go bad and didn’t want to take the risk. We don’t make hot food items much.

Average blender. Does not work as expexted
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We used it one time. It did not make peanut butter very well. Also, the self cleaning does not work. We still had to hand wash because the self clean did nothing. This may be good for other uses but not what we wanted.

More than a blender
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At my house, using a blender means milkshakes, with the occasional smoothie or frozen drink, although it's capable of a variety of recipes. This blender does these and so much more. It's powerful enough to crush ice and blend ingredients. It performs well, and exceeds expectations for what I want from a blender. This blender offers a whole new set of features, beyond what I would expect to be able to do with a blender. It comes with more presets than any blender I've used before, and this makes it even easier to work with. I had no issues with figuring them out, since it comes with a user guide, and a recipe book to get you started. Instructions are given on how to layer ingredients for best results, and step by step directions. The included recipe book offers a bunch of recipes for cold drinks, and even ice cream. But it also has sauces, dips, smooth soups, like tomato, and hearty soups, and even a general guide on making your own mixtures, such as trying your own variation for a smooth or hearty soup. My favorite is the homemade chicken noodle soup. It's so easy, just put the ingredients in, everything but the noodles, and this blender does all the work. It mixes and cooks- just 30 minutes of cooking time! Noodles are added in near the end to prevent them from getting overcooked. It was really good, and everything was thoroughly cooked. I will be using this recipe again. I did not expect to be making soup with a blender. It's not a large portion, so it wouldn't work if you want leftovers, or for a crowd, but it makes enough for people who want a quick and easy way to make soup. It doesn't require stirring (it does that for you) or watching. You can come home, throw everything in, hit the preset for that recipe, and come back when it's done, or almost done, for adding in additional ingredients. This is great for saving time after a long day. I also found more recipes online. The only possible downside I noticed, which isn't a problem so far, is that the pitcher cannot be disassembled or put in the dishwasher. Because of the heating element built into the base, it cannot be submerged in water. It has a Clean Cycle that cleans the inside of the pitcher. Users should only have to rinse, using the cleaning brush to remove anything that might remain after it cleans itself. I didn't have any problems with this; it came clean without extra effort for me. It also meant I didn't have to worry about the blades, since they remained attached, and cleaned during the cycle. This might not even be an problem, if it continues to clean as it designed to do. It's too early to tell, but I'm mentioning it, since most blenders do come apart for cleaning. It might be a good thing, less time and work to clean it. The cord is too short, but I have the same problem with my other blender, so I can't really fault this one for that issue. Overall I'm impressed. It describes itself as the evolution of the blender, and that's a fair description. Ninja has made another versatile product that I am looking forward to trying out more recipes with.

Outstanding Blender
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ever have a blender scare you? This one scares me but it's in a good way! This Ninja blender has just about all the bells and whistles you could want in a blender. Then Ninja went and added a few more just in case it wasn't impressive enough. First, as a blender it's dang impressive even if it didn't do anything else. Everything I've put in there so far has been quickly and evenly blended or chopped up. This has been a failure point in other blenders I've used and this one just seems to laugh at what ever I throw in it. I wanted to really put it to the test so I took a bag of frozen strawberries straight from the freezer along with some ice cubes for good measure and this thing made short work of them. Sure, it got loud but it was stuff that was completely frozen. I was impressed! I've never used a blender to make soup before the other day. I was able to make a very smooth tomato soup and cook it in my blender. Let that sink in. A blender that can cook. Nuff said. It's not all rainbows and butterflies and there are a couple of drawbacks. The included brush that is to be used to help clean the blades in the pitcher isn't really long enough for someone with larger hands to get down to the bottom comfortably. It's minor but I just wanted to include that bit of info. Over all this is one very impressive blender that more than lives up to the standards I've come to expect from Ninja products.

Great Blender, ton of Features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great addition to any kitchen. I seem to be always on the go and making quick and no mess meals and snacks are a must. The Ninja Foodi Blender is a great way to accomplish this. I have been making protein drinks for breakfast (Frozen Fruit, Almond Milk and Protein Powder) I put it in the Blender start it and walk away. When I come back just pour it in a glass and hit the road. The feature that I like the most is the ability to make soup. I have had a high priced blender that said it could make soup, but it used the speed of the blades to heat the soup, which caused the motor to burn out twice. The Ninja Foodi Blender has a built in heating element that warms up the soup or sauce as you make it. I am not too fond of it being attached to the Pitcher, but it does get the job done. Speaking of the pitcher it is a heavy duty glass pitcher, the heating element adds a lot of weight to it. The downside to the heating element being attached to the pitcher is you can’t machine wash it or get the base wet. This could mean a lot of extra work, but they have thought of that and they have a cleaning cycle on the machine to solve that problem. This is a really great appliance that has an inordinate number of features and will make life a lot easier. Making homemade soup is a snap, we like to make a lot of cream soups for the fall, cream of Tomato is my wife’s favorite. The usually long amount of time it usually takes on the stove can now be done in minutes.

Great for most things, just not ice.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this for the wife and ended up taking it back as it really sucked blending up ice. Wife wanted one that would turn ice into something closer to snow, lol. So we got the one with the blades that went all the way up and down.
