Motor Smoked
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this because of the Ninja brand. However midway through me blending some prunes, it stopped and started smelling and smoking. I had to return it to Best Buy. I purchased a Vitamix instead. Hopefully it’s better than this.

Broken Seals
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only lasted 9 months. Seals did not last, leaked from the cup and it went inside the blender... Just as noisy as any other blender; motor does not seem to be strong enough for cup size.

Love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaced my old blender and WOW! No contest. It blends everything so smoothly and evenly. I haven't used the soup function yet, but am looking forward to it in cold weather. I have used the clean function and that is really a blessing. You think it's clean at the bottom until you use that button. The cons for this blender are: its very heavy. I wish they'd put the heating element in the base instead of the pitcher. Its loud, but the smoothie function lasts 45 seconds. I can live with 45 sec for great smoothie.

Not good
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this and just to complicated to use. You have to wait for it to heat up then you start blending. Seems like it’s not so useful. Don not recommend it.

It's like having an assistant chef.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja Foodi is a blender that cooks. A BLENDER THAT COOKS! I recently learned that such things even existed, so when I saw Ninja come out with one that had a few programs, I had to see what the deal is. Physically, it's an attractive and very well made blender that feels sturdy and is surprisingly easy to clean. There's 2 main components like most blenders, except the blender jar has a heating element built into the base. I'm not sure if it's made of Pyrex, but it's thick glass that'll retain heat and stand up to abuse well. Unfortunately, while this makes it a sturdy unit, it also makes it relatively heavy as well. It can seem a bit cumbersome at times, but the trick is treat it like a pot and not be shy about using 2 hands when handling it. On the bright side, it doesn't budge when placed onto the blender base and the jar is incredibly easy to clean. In fact, it's the easiest to clean blender I've ever used. Just do a quick rinse of the inside, 2 cups of water, a few drops of dishwasher soap, and press the "CLEAN" button. Yes, it has a clean button and it makes cleaning up afterwards as simple as pressing a button and rinsing/drying it off. This is key, because I hate cleaning dishes and wish for a world where everything cleaned itself. Being practical will keep me using the devices, but that doesn't mean anything if it doesn't help make delicious food. "So, how'd it do you", say? Outside of using it as a normal blender (which it performs very well as), I tried the tomato soup and chicken noodle soup recipes that they provided. The tomato soup is a 2 step process that involves adding a few ingredients, using the "saute" function, and then adding the rest of the ingredients and pressing the "smooth soup" button. That's it. It does the rest of the work for you and it's honestly kind of fun to watch. Saute is a 5 minute program and all 3 of the soup programs seem to be 30 minutes long. It'll do a quick spin, and you'll gradually see the soup start boiling. I was a bit skeptical at how the soup would come out while watching it cook, but it did a fine blend in the last minute and the soup was homogenous with excellent texture and consistency. Finally, after a cute little chime, the tomato soup in my bowl and it was.... ok. Disappointed in my first bite, I did what all aspiring chefs do and went off script. A bunch of softened butter, a dash more cream, a pinch more salt, hit pulse a few times to mix it all up, cook on high for another 2 minutes, and the soup came out wonderful! But we expect a blender to do a smooth soup well, how about a hearty soup like chicken noodle? This was the easiest chicken noodle soup I've ever made. I followed the recipe provided by Ninja, which is essentially just chicken, carrots, celery, chicken stock and spices. You clean and cut everything up into 1" pieces and place them all into the blender jar and then press "hearty soup". That's it. You can add egg noodles in the last 6 minutes if you'd like, but totally not needed, and the whole cooking program is only 30 minutes. It cooked the soup and chicken first and then pulsed a few times to shred the chicken and chop the veggies just right. The chicken soup came out delicious and needed no additions or additional work at all. I was curious how a hearty soup with a bunch of stuff in it would come out in this blender, and it performed remarkably. It was like having an assistant chef in the kitchen making chicken soup while I focused on the rest of the meal. Knowing more about how it works now, I've started using the manual cooking mode more and am a big fan of this machine. And the best part is that when you're done cooking, all you have to do is rinse the jar out, run the clean function, and it's all cleaned up and ready to go again. It also has an "extract" mode that I haven't tried yet, but it's supposedly good for making infused water and I saw a tasty recipe for raspberry lemonade in their menu as well. If you're in the market for a blender that you can cook in, you should definitely give the Ninja Foodi IQ a look. You can mix drinks or make chicken soup at the touch of a button and I feel corny for saying this, but it really has never been easier. Outside of room service, of course.

The blender was absolutely disgusting! Now I'm supposed to pay for the shipping to get back to the store, the restocking fee AND lost my gift certificates to get a new one? Are you kidding me! Totally Awesome Evolution of the Blender
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja - Foodi Cold & Hot Blender is one of those kitchen appliances that makes so much sense you wonder why they weren't created earlier. Throwing a peeled, quartered onion in with a little butter and salt, pressing 'Sauté' and then, 5 minutes later it's done - wow. Then, if you're making a smooth soup, add the rest of the ingredients, push the 'Smooth Soup' button, walk away and come back 30 minutes later for some delicious hot soup - yes. My wife and I are thoroughly enjoying it as we expand what we do with it - and learn as we go. A couple of things to be aware of: - The canister is heavy because it includes the heating element. This means 2 hands are normally needed. Also, because of the heating element, you should not submerge the canister or put it in the dishwasher. You can run water over it as you rinse it inside and outside, but just don't submerge it. - It has an excellent self-cleaning mode: rinse, add 24 oz water with 2 drops of dish soap, return to base and push 'Clean'. However, I did find that using a cheese-heavy dip recipe left the canister difficult to clean even after 2 'Clean' cycles. I assume that, in time, the issue with the canister weight and the heating element will be improved. However, even at this point, the Ninja - Foodi Cold & Hot Blender is a great kitchen addition that provides excellent, convenient hot soups and beverages. Oh, and it's a great, full-featured regular blender as well!

Lasted 15 months - Bad Quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Jar cracked and did applied the warranty at some point on the 3-4 month after purchase. The motor died this week, lasted 15 months, did call them and they want to sell me a new motor with 3 months of warranty for close to new one. My old Oster $40 blender lasted 5 years, this one is fancy but bad quality.

Not worth the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gets stuck all the time where it’s not mixing anything. We have to take it off and shake it and push down on the mixer to get it to work. Of course I’m out of my 30 day return window so I’m gonna call Ninja to see what they can do. Very disappointed in this blender.

Oh, it blends...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't owned a blender of this caliber before. Only this cheap, run-of-the-mill type that were a pain to clean and all the different blending settings seemed to do the exact same thing. This blender is far from that. What really impresses me is it's efficiency. I blended a sauce that was done in seconds. It wasn't whisper quiet, but it was quiet enough and fast enough that the people who were around didn't even know it was done. And it's self cleaning option is amazing. Just fill it with water, turn the cleaning mode on, it churns the water from time to time over a 6 minute period or so while heating the water with the built in heating element, and it's done. It's so much better than sticking your hands in and around the blades to get it clean. A word of caution though. Do not submerge the pitcher in water. You can leave water or other fluids in it no problem. But you can leave the whole thing in a sink full of water or it can damage the built in heating element. The instructions are very clear on this but I feel that this is important enough to point out as it's not information readily available in any of the descriptions.

Blended and splendid!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve wanted a new blender for quite a while and when I saw this combination hot/cold blender it was a match too good to pass up! My main interest was in making smoothies. My wife loves healthy food, and I love frozen coffees and that sort of thing, and I saw this as an opportunity to save some money by learning to make our chosen specialties at home and to have exact control over our ingredients -- save money and be healthier all at once, hooray! After just a little experimentation I settled pretty quickly on a balance of ingredients to make some satisfying blended coffee drinks and smoothies without any additional sugar and it became a part of my daily routine pretty much right away. This pulverizes ice so easily, once you get your mix right the result can be quite creamy and dreamy. Get too much ice though and it’ll be too thick or taste watery, you’ll just have to figure out the ratio that works for you --- and that’s the fun part right? I found about 6-8 regular ice cubes per 12oz of fluid strikes a good balance between icy-ness, flavor, and drinkability. The flip side is the heating aspect which was something I hadn’t even considered in a blender until I saw this and it piqued my interest. The Foodi came with a recipe book that had just two hot recipes in it, both soups. I decided to try the tomato soup recipe as my first heated project and it turned out really well by my tastes. I might tweak the recipe a bit later but as my first heated-blender endeavor it gave me the confidence to try something a little more adventurous. So, having succeeded with tomato soup, I ventured into a personal seasonal favorite -- a squash soup! First batch honestly didn’t go so well but I revamped the process, took a second swing at it, and the result next time around was pretty fantastic. Bottom line, after some trials and smiles I’m really lovin’ the flexibility of my hot/cold Foodi and I’d recommend this to anyone who doesn’t have a blender already, or has just a regular blender and wants to venture into the new possibilities of a combination hot/cold blender. Not really a negative, but with the heater element being part of the pitcher it’s much heavier than any blender pitcher I’ve used before, and it also makes this a tall blender! When mounted on the base the whole thing every-so-barely slides under our cabinets when on the counter. This will obviously vary with how high your cabinets are, but it was something I hadn’t even considered until I saw just how close it came to not fitting at all! Very happy though, aside from being a bit larger than usual it’s everything I wanted in a blender… and more.

A Great Multi-Purposed Blender!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja Warrior has struck again! This time with adding a combo of hot and cold to their latest blender! Initially, I was a bit apprehensive because I’ve always used a blender for cold items such as margaritas, smoothies, shakes, etc., Needless to say, this blender piqued my interest, so I tried blending corn soup and I achieved great results with it being piping hot and ready for consumption. This blender is robust and have multiple settings to choose from. I will note, it is relatively easy to clean. If you’re looking to add a new twist into your kitchen’s essentials, then Ninja has answered the call!

It really delivers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was sceptical about a blender that could make hot soup. I mean, really, other than something like tomato soup, or similar, what good would it be? How would you be able to make vegetable soup with all the chunks? I'm not sceptical anymore as I've made delicious vegetable soup in my Ninja Foodi Hot/Cold Blender. It has a hearty soup function which leaves the chunks of veg rather than pureeing them. Writing this review is difficult as there are so many features that it would be way to long. So, for the cold part, I'll just say that it does everything I would expect a regular blender to do and a bit extra as the cookbook included shows you have to make frozen treats as well as infusing water and crafting your own drinks. The cookbook not only has some good recipes but it also gives you the steps so you can make your own specialties. It has a cleaning function which is great as you cannot submerge the pitcher due to the heating element. It does come with a cleaning brush so no cutting fingers on the blades. It has a saute feature so you can saute your onions/garlic/spices/herbs prior to making your soup/sauce without the added pan to do it in. Since I'm mentally incapable of making a small pot of soup, this allows me to make about two servings at a time which is helpful. No more eating the same soup days on end. I haven't tried it with sauces and dips yet but I have not doubt it will do well. I'm thinking this may be a great way to make lump-free gravy in time for the holidays. I will warn that the pitcher is heavy, at least by my standards which makes sense given the heat element. The directions do address that a bit by warning about not putting a hand directly on the pitchen but using a barrier so you don't burn yourself on a hot pitcher.

Excellent Blender for Smoothies!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have been using Ninja products like Coffee Brewer, pressure cooker, Food processor for more than 2 years. We were looking to buy a blender from Ninja due to the quality products they make. We are pleased with the results and quality of ninja products. Ninja - Foodi Cold & Hot Blender came with a 1400-peak-watt motor base, 64 oz. glass pitcher with the nonstick coating (56 oz. max cold liquid capacity), 800-watt precision heating element, Cleaning brush, Ninja Foodi HB152, Tamper, and 25-recipe inspiration guide. This is great looking blender with so many features. The BPA-free 64-oz. pitcher allows us to make smoothies and drinks for larger groups at a party. All of our guests enjoyed the taste of smoothie came of this blender. The 12 pre-set Auto-iQ smart programs allow to infuse and unlock flavors with heat to make spa waters, craft cocktails, mixers and more. The 1400W motor easily liquefies solid ingredients, quickly creating purees and juices with smooth, even consistencies. The 800-watt precision heating element boils in minutes to cook soup, sauce, melt chocolate or cheese for fondue. It is dishwasher-safe and it is very easy to clean as well. The recipe booklet is very useful and step by step instructions provided in the booklet to make drinks easy. The blender is very quiet during operation. We have been using this blender very frequently and it is definitely a great addition to our kitchen. It is another great product from Ninja and I highly recommend this product.
