    A Great Air Fryer

Having had several air fryers over the past 3-4 years, I was excited to try out the new Ninja Foodi Dual Heat Air Fry Oven Series FT 300. Ninja says it cooks up to 500 degrees and is 1800 watt rated. This air fryer is a keeper! It bakes, broils, toasts, grills, air roasts, air frys and acts as an air oven! What doesn't this Ninja applicance do? The Ninja Dual Heat Air Fryer Oven comes with an air fryer basket, sear/grille plate, wire rack and crumb tray. All will fit inside the unit for easy storage when the unit is not in use. It also is equipped with an interior light for use while cooking and has a 1-year limited warranty from Ninja. One suggested improvement for the next update - mount the handle for opening the door to the right side or have it be adjustable for either left or right hand use.

I like it, with some caveats

Got this as a present and so far I'm really enjoying it. So far I've mainly used it to reheat things which it does quickly and evenly (the air fry option is great!). It takes up a little more room on my counter than I wanted and I don't think the flip-up option is very useful but I still like using this more than waiting to preheat my oven. What I don't like: with the placement of the racks it seems like you're stuck using just the accessories that come with it. You are required to use the bottom sear plate for half the functions and the thing has a non-stick coating which I don't love (personal preference, I'm a stainless steel cookware guy). Bottom line, if you can get this on sale it may be a good buy but if you want more flexibility with the accessories maybe try something else.

    A Jack of All Trades

This counter-top oven does it all! Honestly, after this, I can't imagine cooking French Fries and other fried foods again. We cooked some chicken...seasoned it well...and the skin was crispy with the inside tender and juicy! I especially like the included booklet that gives all kinds of ideas of what you can do with the oven. I gotta try a personal pizza next - this unit is definitely big enough to handle it. The unit does get hot when in use - including the metallic outer casing, so be warned; but it also has a useful cool-down feature. It's also built to rotate up to be out of the way when not in use, but the unit is fairly large, so I'm not really sure how useful that is for most people. Neither of these "criticisms" take away from just how awesome this air fryer is.

We got this to replace another air fryer/toaster. The Ninja has far more cooking features, is really easy to use and, unlike the previous one, very easy to clean and keep clean. This tilt away feature is nice, although it doesn't take up too much space when not tilted, so we don't really use that very much. I highly recommend the Ninja air fryer/oven.

Cooks well but has some foibles

Pros: Cooked food thoroughly Cooked food quickly Large cooking area Easy to set time and temperature Easy to switch between functions Cons: Sear pan is finicky to get in and out sometimes Takes forever to cool / unclear if leaving it on keeps the heat on after it's done cooking or not Door handle position is odd We used this air fryer to cook a frozen pizza, air fry potato wedges, and bake a crostata prior to this review. It did a great job of cooking a frozen pizza. Figuring out the cooking time was a little tricky (the instructions note that you need to adjust cooking times figuring that it would cook 30-50% faster than the time provided on the pizza’s instructions. In our experience, it cooked the pizza around 40% faster. Air frying the potato wedges went very smoothly. The air fry basket is quite large, and the potatoes ended up cooking faster than the time listed on the included chart. The crostata went “mostly” okay. Getting the sear plate out was a little tricky, and we ended up breaking the crostata up a little getting it into the oven (20/20 hindsight, we should have removed the sear plate completely prior to putting the crostata onto it. Putting it onto the sear plate as the plate was partially out was a bad idea). My only other complaint about this device is that it’s unclear what is happening once it finishes cooking. Once it’s done cooking, the device beeps and displays the word “Hot.” The oven remains hot for a long time after finishing, and it’s unclear if the heat is still actively turned on or not. I ended up hitting the power button after a bit in an effort to force it to cool off (and the word “Hot” continued to display even after hitting the power button, and the unit remained hot to the touch). I ended up unplugging it to be safe. This was a little weird.

It is everything that you need all in one toaster oven. Everything cooks perfect. Always tender gets the food done and i recommend getting one for every family. You won’t be disappointed with anything that has the “ninja” name brand label on it. Love the extra counter space that this provides. Just flip it up against the back splash. I have 3 appliances with the “ninja” logo and love them all.

    Surprisingly Powerful with Space-saving Design

At first glance you are greeted with a thin sleek kitchen appliance, a touch of modern appeal and with claims to brown and crisp from edge-to-edge pizza and virtually everything you throw at it with its searplate. Cooking a frozen pizza was faster than a traditional oven and the result was even better. Following the print instructions, pre-heating the searplate was key, after that I reduced the cooking time in half. The result: one perfectly browned and crisped pizza, which could be mistaken for having been cooked in an authentic brick oven. This appliance performed so well with cooking pizza, I would recommend it based on that function alone. The air fry basket was appropriately sized and held up to a half batch of french fries, chicken nuggets and spring rolls all at once. The wire mesh appears to be 'light duty' and shows signs of metal deflection. For the bone-in chicken thigh test, searing a full sheet of chicken thighs and baking for 35 mins turned out wonderfully moist and with color. Immediate clean up is needed as oil spatter happens quick and coats the inside of the appliance. No excessive heat was noticed, a plus especially during warming weather, while baking two evenly browned pumpkin pies. The main control panel/button configuration was easy to use and the layout clearly marked, no complaints. Innovative and smart engineering was noticed in the well-balanced base hinge, the fact that the internal fan continued to run after the cook time was over, aiding the unit to cool-down, and the internal auto 'light “off' feature. Draw backs – (1) air fry basket appeared “light duty” (2) Hard to clean/wipe down the inside of the appliance after oil splatter (3) oil splattered on the upper heat elements, durability concerns. Overall, whether you are air frying, crafting a sheet pan dinner or baking dessert, the Ninja Foodi Dual Heat Air Fry Oven was surprisingly powerful, browned evenly, delivered on its promises, and exhibited a smart space saving design with a well-balanced pivot base point. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Folds AWAY! And cooks great ;-)

It’s a Ninja Foodi product. I knew it would cook well and be sturdy and intuitive to use. It is all those things AND it folds away! Even with plenty of counter space, there is always a reason to save it. I had a fantastic convection air fryer/toaster over that worked perfectly fine prior to getting the Foodi. But it did take up valuable real estate. The Foodi actually easily slides up and away, storing vertically under the cabinets to leave the front of that space of countertop useable. It’s a feature that seems like a gimmick, but you’ll use it and love it. The other thing this model does is give me more heat. My previous oven did not go as high as this one, stopping at 450. I can do a 500 degree sear in the Foodi. I used it over Thanksgiving to bake cornbread, scratch caramel brownies, and roast a whole pan of Brussels sprouts. All came out perfectly. I highly recommend to replace your old bucket style air fryer. There is enough surface area inside the Foodi to cook your snacks (wings, tots, cheese stickers, etc.) with equal coverage and crisping instead of missing whatever pieces were covered by other parts. I have not done pizza in this one yet, but no doubt it will be perfect too, as the cornbread and brownies were evenly cooked through with no hot spots or soggy center. Folding away is the highlight here, and believe me—it’s a great one! You’ll use your large oven less, and you haven’t seceded your whole counter.

Barley even touched the surface with what I can make with this thing! It heats up quick and cooks things in minutes! Instructions straight forward and I love that it folds up out of the way! Even comes with a recipe book and helpful charts on how to cook prepackaged food. I will say it seems to cook a bit faster than what the book says ( almost burnt some cinnamon rolls) but I’m not complaining about the cooking time.

What a huge upgrade from my 10 year old toaster oven! The Ninja takes up a bit more countertop space than the old one but only when in use. When folded up, it does save a few precious square inches of space. It heats quickly, toasts evenly, and makes excellent air-fried wings, tenders, etc. Air-fried/Sear Crisp veggies are quick, easy and delicious.

I love this!!! Had to get it after using one at my friend's cabin. So multi functional that I could replace several other appliances. Perfect because I only cook for my household of 3. Lots of options, easy storage (semi bulky but can stand or lay flat), and it cooks quickly and well. No complaints!

Heats so quickly- 5 minute preheat. The sear plate on the bottom seems to help everything cook perfectly. We rarely use our big oven. I love this oven which replaced a previous countertop oven/air fryer. The Ninja is so much better!
