Almost perfect.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Liked it at first use. It worked well until this last week. It still works but not like it should. We set it to make a whole pot of coffee. It stops at 1/2 a pot. The controls are intuitive. So getting what you set it for worked at first. I have the insurance. So we will try it again.

Ninja has another winner!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja Hot & Iced XL Coffee Maker with Rapid Cold Brew is a sweet machine. With this model you use ground coffee only - no beans and no pods. It can make coffee in 8 brew sizes from a small single cup, a large travel cup or a 12 cup carafe (the carafe is included!) and then pretty much any size in between. There is a flip-down platform to use for shorter cups to avoid the "splash". If using a taller cup that sets on the plate, be sure to center the cup under the coffee stream. This machine also offers 4 types of coffee - classic, rich, over ice and cold brew - and the extraction automatically adjusts for the type you choose. The cold brew takes 10-20 minutes depending on the size you are making, but it makes a great tasting cold-brew. It has a warming plate that automatically comes on when a carafe is brewed. The warming plate temperature stay-on time can be adjusted from 2-4 hours, or you can set it to not come on at all. This comes with a permanent filter which haven't had much luck with. I've been using the permanent filter, and every time I’ve made coffee I’ve ended up with a fine layer of grounds at the bottom of my cup. The booklet suggests that may indicate my grind may be too fine or a #4 cone paper filter would alleviate that issue. I used store-bought pre-ground coffee. A very convenient feature, this Ninja coffee maker comes with a timer - it is up to a 24 hour delay start. It isn't your typical coffee maker timer - time for weekdays, etc., but it will set the timer for tomorrow morning's coffee at a certain time and I can easily reset it for the next day or not. I love to wake up to the aroma of fresh brewed coffee! With its large (easy to grip and fill) water reservoir, you can fill it and it will know how much water to use for the size and style you select. You don't have to fill it for each cup. Just be sure you have the minimum amount in there for each brew. I really love this Ninja Hot & Iced XL Coffee Maker with Rapid Cold Brew. It knows what to do in every step by the size and style settings I select. It makes a great cup, mug or carafe of coffee - even cold brew and it looks great on my counter. And it lets me know, with a beep or a message on the machine, when something needs attention. I would highly recommend this coffee maker to anyone looking for an upgrade or replacement coffee maker.

Ninja Does it Again
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ninja onces again does not disappoint. I've been using this XL for over a week now and I have put it to the test. Set-up was a breeze and had it up and running in minutes. Be sure to run a test cycle before actually making anything to actually drink. This way you don't have any of that aftertaste. It makes an excellent cup of coffee wether it's one cup or 10. Has a "forever" filter on it. I used itcto make iced tea also and it came out perfect. The dials and buttons are clearly maked and with the stainless steel touches on it, it looks nice anywhere in your kitchen. It has a programming feature up to 24 hours in advance and you can select from several types of brewing styles. It has a scoop built in to the side of the machine so thats a plus and you dont have to go looking for it. There are multiple settings for the heating plate as well so you can decide just how warm you want you coffee to hold. Comes with a carafe for those serious coffee drinkers. It also has a side shelf where you can place your cup directly on the maker and brew right from there. Its an excellent machine and I would definately recommend.

You will not be dissatisfied with this coffee pot.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing that I noticed about this machine is the fact that it brews cold. I like to go to stores and get cold brews but now that I have this machine, I am able to not only cut cost but have the convenience of making them at home. There are so many variations as far as making a pot or just a mug is very convenient . This coffee pot brews quite quickly and you are able to make the brew as strong as you like. As far as making a pot, you can make a full pot and the coffee is piping hot. mixing the cold drinks with a nice flavored creamer is quite the treat. This coffee pot is made very durable and the sleekness will pair with any kitchen decor. I like the fact that it comes with a measurable cup to be able to make the perfect cup of coffee. with some of the pots when you make the coffee, you can’t get the strength correct but with this cup measurer, you can achieve this.I like the fact that you can keep up with the spoon by having a place where you can store it on the side, I would totally recommend this product to anyone looking for a versatile coffee pot.

Quick, delicious coffee with options
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.About 7 years ago I was sold on the Ninja/Shark branded small appliances, home environment and cooking line of products. The "Ninja Hot & Iced XL Coffee Maker with Rapid Cold Brew" is the latest appliance to find a permanent home on our countertop (complementing our Ninja Foodi air fryer, Ninja Foodie cookware, Ninja Blender(s) and the Shark vacuum/wet mop that cleans up the kitchen floor). First and foremost, the Ninja line of products has yet to disappoint. Every product we have purchased (including our previous Ninja Coffee Maker - 2019) is still functioning as well as it did on day one. That being said, calcium build-up on our old Ninja likely resulted in a small but noticeable water leak if we pre-filled the coffee maker's water the night before. Consequently, we took advantage of the opportunity to replace our old Ninja with this hot/cold brew model. I am not a cold brew person, but I did take a moment to give it a try. I made a half pot (which looked a bit more like a third of a pot when all was said and done) of "over ice" brew with the idea of pouring it over ice, caramel sweetener, and shot of coffee flavored adult beverage. :-) While I am still not a cold brew drinker, I could see myself occasionally making a late afternoon iced coffee in the future while enjoying a warm summer afternoon. More importantly though, the flavor of the "cold brew" was actually pretty true even after being poured over ice. The cold brew took about 10 minutes, as best I can guess, to finish. Although not "cold" (i.e. not refrigerator cold) it was way colder than any coffee I'd normally drink which helped minimize ice melt. I suppose that is important to note for iced coffee aficionados. As for the HOT coffee, this Ninja makes a darn good pot of coffee--and quickly! This model does not have the built-in frother our previous Ninja has, nor does it have an insulated pot like the old one. Consequently, we get a little more coffee per pot than our previous Ninja. [Note, the insulated pot apparently holds 10c vs. 12c with the glass pot.] Capable of 8 different sizes of brew and 4 different styles (classic hot, rich hot, over ice and cold brewed), selection and operation are fairly simple: - Measurements on the side of the removable water tank* are clearly labeled for the desired output amount. - Integrated coffee filter basket (removeable if you prefer to use paper filters) and on-board measuring spoon make it easy to load the right amount of coffee without the need of disposable filters. - A simple knob lets you choose the "amount and size" coffee you want--displayed in OUNCES which is VERY NICE given "small" means nothing to me but I do know my thermos holds 16 oz. - Each style (hot rich, hot classic, cold brew, over ice) has its own button which also starts the coffee making process. *The removeable water tank also has a removeable lid/cover. Our previous Ninja had an attached, hinged lid. I prefer a hinged lid if only because I need to find a place to set a detached lid while filling the tank with filtered fridge water. Minor inconvenience, obviously. Hot coffee comes out extremely hot. The warming tray automatically kicks on as the coffee is made and has its own "off" button should you wish to turn it off. A glowing light will remain lit to let you know when the warmer is hot to the touch. The entire unit will automatically power off if you forget. The delay brew setting (up to 24 hours) is easy to use and very practical when you want to wake up to freshly made coffee. There is also a "clean" button that will let you run a solution (we use water + vinegar) through the coffee maker with virtually no effort on your end. I have yet to run the cleaning/descaling process on this coffee maker, but the previous Ninja took about 60 minutes to self-clean. We don't have many negative things to say about this coffee maker aside from the tank lid design change (detachable instead of attached). The coffee maker is fairly tall and only has about 3" to spare under our cupboards. That can make pulling the water tank in and out a bit awkward if we don't move the coffee maker toward us first. And of course, comparing it to our previous model, we don't have an onboard frother but a battery operated frother can easily be bought for $10-$15. Overall, this is another great Ninja-branded appliance. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this coffee maker to anyone who has simple hot AND cold coffee needs, or the desire to make small batch coffee w/o the waste of K-Cups. [Note: This coffee maker is NOT K-Cup compatible.] For more bells and whistles (i.e. espresso setting, built-in frother, tea, etc.) you will want to step up a model, but you won't go wrong with a Ninja.

It is a NINJA!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having used Ninja products for years, I was excited to try this coffee maker and I was not disappointed. Unique aspects of this brewer: - Removable water supply. No longer do you have to bring the water to this unit to guess how much you'll need. You simply remove the water holder from the unit, remove the lid, and to fill up the water to the fill mark and to return it back to the brewer. - Swing out coffee ground holder/with reusable filter. I love this aspect of the unit swing out so you don't accidentally pull it out too much and the grounds get dumped on your counter. I had that issue with my first Ninja Coffee Maker from four years ago. BTW - the ONLY bad thing about the unit. - Swing out beverage container ledge. This allows you to put the cup or container in which you want to brew close to the brew dispenser. Very nice. - Coffee drip actuator lever. If for some reason you need to stop the coffee from coming out of the filter area, there is a stopper that can be slide and this is nice in case you forget to put the cup underneath before brewing (stops messes from getting worse). - Washable filter. So nice to be able to hold the grounds and to dump them without having them in an extra cost paper filter. No more extra waste. - Coffee ground scoop built into the side of the unit. I lost the old one and had to resort to a measuring scoop on my old unit. Now this version has the scoop secured in the side where it cannot be lost. Operation is simple (seemingly more so than my old unit). Makes great coffee like the older unit and looks nice on the counter. I did find that the newer unit takes more counter space than the older one, but not a big deal. First rate product made by Ninja with an accent of stainless steel to go with the black plastic.

COLD BREW IS NOW A BREEZE, CONSISTEN T FLAVOR
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a coffee enthusiast and always on the lookout for a machine that can consistently brew a good brew. I recently decided to add to my home brewing setup with the Ninja Hot & Iced XL Coffee Maker with Rapid Cold Brew (Model: CM371). I have always been skeptical of the non-steeping method of making cold brew coffee but this machine has exceeded all my expectations. First I want talk about the design and functionality. The design is sleek and the stainless steel finish adds a touch of elegance to the coffee bar, and the small footprint fits perfectly on my countertop without taking up a lot of space. The control panel is pretty simple, it makes brewing a breeze, with dedicated buttons for hot and cold brews, as well as customizable settings for brew strength and size. Plus, the detachable water reservoir makes filling and cleaning a breeze. It is simple setup BUT you must read the manual to know how much ICE to add because it makes a stronger brew and counts on the ice to dilute the strength and end up with a the perfect balance of strength and flavor. Now, onto performance. The hot brewing function delivers consistently delicious coffee with just the right balance of flavor and strength. Whether I'm craving a bold espresso or a smooth cup of joe, this machine delivers every time. But where it's most impressive with its Rapid Cold Brew technology. I used to avoid making cold brew at home because it took so long, but with the Ninja CM371, I can whip up a batch in under 15 minutes. The result are a smooth, flavorful cold brew that doesn't have a bitter or acidic taste. Overall, I truly enjoy the machine- the coffee is very good, consistent and easy to use as long as you read the instructions and follow the directions.

A fantastic all in one coffee maker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had a Ninja coffee maker but it needed to be retired We have used it in a small office setting and it had been used pretty much non stop. So when the opportunity came to replace it, I knew it was going to be another Ninja coffee maker. The box is minimal and wastes little in package space. There were not a lot of parts, but mainly it's because of the unit is an encompassing of all in one features. Meaning everything you need is just practically built in. The only part that was not taped together was the coffee pot. The classic brew method of using a #4 filter makes a great pot of coffee and pretty fast too. There is ample water space in the water tank, but I'll get into that a bit later. In making a pot or half pot of coffee, you have to use the included scooper or use your existing one I did both and both yielded similar tastes in the classic brew. In using the coffee maker, you have to determine how much coffee you are intending to make. Next you scoop the grounds in respect to how much you want to make. For me, when I want a full pot you just put 10 flat scoops, turn on the coffee maker, indicate using the tuning know and crank it ot the fullest. I do like the LED screen to help with this. However, I have had issues with my older Ninja Coffee maker's LED screen just eventually go out based on on time I guess. When you begin to brew, the coffee machine is relatively quiet and has a very small chime to let you know your coffee is done. There is a valve drip shut off if you want to grab a cup before the coffee has stopped brewing and I think is the least like thing about this machine. I understand the idea behind turning it on the off side and then grabbing the pot. However, in a business office setting. If it is not reminded, one would automatically just pull it thinking the machine will stopp brewing. Howver, this is not the case. I can forsee an issue with my co-workers and I know for a fact they will forget and just grab a cup proior to completetion. The smaller portion way of making a cup of coffee is pretty novel as well. I do not see myself using this function a lot because we do have pod maker for the one or two cups in the afternoons or if a client wants a coffee. The cold brew setting is pretty cool as well. On a separate note, I do like the look and function of the hotplate. It is very minimal and I would have thought it to be much thicker than it is being it's a hot plate for warming the coffee. Would I recommed it? Yes I would, but more so for personal use rather in a small office setting, for the sole fact that the mid brew coffee shut off valve needs to be addressed better in my opinion.

Traditional Coffee Pot Reimagined
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This coffee maker reminds me of an "old fashioned" coffee machine. No fancy K cups or pods... This is a drip machine that uses a filter. Now with that in mind, there are some significant improvements in this iteration of a traditional coffee maker. First is that there is a water reservoir that can be used to brew individual servings for cups (8 to 12 ounces), travel mugs (14 ounces), and extra large tumblers (18 ounces), in addition to brewing a full carafe of coffee (28 to 55 ounces). Another nice feature that no coffee machine should be without is a drip stop lever that stops the flow (or drip) of coffee into the carafe or cup so you can remove it before all of the water/coffee has drained. There are a few brew styles available with the coffee maker. There is a classic brew, a "rich" brew (for more intense flavor), the ability to brew hot coffee over ice for an iced coffee that is not watered down, and a cold brew that is supposed to deliver an ultra-smooth, deep, and sweet flavor in about 10 to 20 minutes. A nice addition is a built in scoop that can be used to scoop your ground coffee. There is a built in clock, an "intelligent" warming plate with three temperature settings (low, medium, and high), and the ability to set a delay brew (so, get everything ready to go before going to bed and have a hot cup of joe ready for yourself in the morning when you get up). Again, this is not a brewer that uses K cups or pods. Rather, this is a good ole-fashioned coffee brewer that incorporates some of those features (such as a water reservoir and the ability to brew single cups of coffee) with a few nice features. Like to brew coffee using your favorite coffee grounds? This is a pretty nice coffee machine for that. Simple and basic with just a few advanced features to provide some flexibility. No complaints from me.

Beginner Coffee drinker, this makes things easy!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've recently started to make some coffee, but I have limited kitchen space, so I've just been using some instant, which isn't as instant/easy (again, due to space). This is a bit overkill for just me, but with that said, this works out easier for me! Bonus since all my friends/visitors drink coffee, so now I can finally make some coffee w/baileys after hours and keep them coming! I like that it comes with a permanent filter, I like that you can easily set the size of the coffee mugs, which I do have all sorts of sizes so it's great to customize it per serving. Since my previous ways of making coffee was a pain, I'm not able to make coffee daily and not be so stressed about everything I was doing previously to the Ninja. I'm sure others will find this as a normal machine, but for someone who has never had a coffee machine, this is great. It also comes with a 12 cup carafe, which I use when guests are over, and simply use it as a single cup on a daily basis. This pretty much covers all my coffee needs. Pros: very simply to use, 12 cup water tank/carafe, easy to clean (permanent filter) and options to adjust it over ice, pull up cup holder when carafe not in use. Easy to read / adjust cup size. Very quiet Cons: A little to quiet to alert you when it's done. If I'm not within 1 room of it, I don't hear the beep that it's stopped pouring. Not *that* big of a deal!

Cold Drink Monster
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this new model as a replacement of our old Ninja Specialty Coffee Maker, intended as an upgrade. I was lured in by the intrigue of on-demand cold brew coffee. However, I found that this is more of a sideways move than an upgrade. I love that I can have a cold brew coffee in about 10 minutes, instead of having to wait overnight. While it’s not exactly the same thing, the Ninja machine does a pretty darn good version. Some may never really taste the difference. This came at a cost for us though: this machine focuses more on producing quick turnaround iced drinks, like iced tea and cold brew. Because of this, it’s done away with the frother, which is vital to my wife’s morning lattes. We’re still learning to cope with this, but the change hasn’t been all negatives. I like that this model now shuts itself off when idle. With Specialty machine that I had, there was a power button, but it went mostly unused. We’d turn it on and leave it on so that the machine was always ready for us. On this new model, we were thrown off by having to hit the brew button more than once, until we realized it was because hitting any of the other buttons, not just the power, will wake the machine up. Then you need to hit a button again to actually start brewing. Another adjustment we are still getting used to is the new sizing designations. On the Specialty machine, there were separate pictures and sizing names to depict smaller to larger sizes. This model focuses on drink sizes. Sure, there are still some pictures included to steer people in the direction of the size they want, and it’s is better to be precise as to the actual size of the drink you want (in ounces), but the change still takes getting used to. It’s great that they’ve added hand holds to the inside of the water tank itself. I understand that this is supposed to help when filling, but I feel like they are a little small. I understand they made them the size they are so as to maximize the tank volume, but when you are holding it under a tap during filling, I can feel the tank slipping away most times. I end up filling a secondary bottle then draining it into the tank instead. While I don’t feel the Hot & Cold Coffee Makers is as versatile as its name implies, especially when compared to our old Specialty Coffee maker, but I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looker for simpler hot coffees and quick server cold brews and iced teas.

Great coffee both hot and cold
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used Ninja coffee makers for several years and I prefer them over all others. This new coffee maker is excellent on most fronts and has added a new one fourth pot option that is great for smaller households. They have also changed up some of the functionality from prior versions of the coffee maker. The classic features are still there, such as the rich brew and classic brew options. I brew dark coffees, so I generally use the classic option. The coffee turns out great and brews fairly fast. I find some of the new features to be more complicated than in the past, such as the ounce readout in the display. While it has a visual showing the full pot options versus the cup/mug options, it isn’t clear what constitutes a half pot versus a fourth pot just by simply looking at it. It is easy to tell, however, when you turn it all the way to the maximum ounces and then back it down. It still offers a delayed start feature that works as expected. This wonderful for staging the coffee to be ready for me in the morning and I use it daily. One of my favorite features is the fast cold brew option. In the past, making cold brew required a whole different system and it took forever. This coffee maker does it quickly and the coffee is delicious. Thank you Ninja! The coffee pot has been redesigned and it pours so much better than the previous versions I have owned. This was a great improvement. The water tank lid is now completely removable as well, whereas the older versions had a hinged top. My final observation is that the coffee maker no longer displays the clock while it is in the brewing and heating modes. It sticks to displaying the ounces instead. I liked when the clock was available all of the time.

Great for hot and cold brew
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja Hot & Iced XL Coffee Maker with Rapid Cold Brew is what I feel, a great product. To start, the coffee machine has several different size options. The smallest is 8oz, the biggest being a full carafe, which comes with the machine. One feature that really sold me is that there is a stand that pulls out so coffee being brewed does not drip all over from needing to fall so far. This machine has 4 coffee modes, 2 hot ones (classic and rich) and 2 “over ice” options (over ice and cold brew). As someone who drinks a lot of cold brew, I know that it usually takes a long time to make cold brew, but this coffee maker had my cold brew ready in 10 minutes! There is a warming base to keep your carafe and hot coffee warm, as well as a time to make it for you when you wake up in the morning. Another great feature is that the reservoir is easy to fill, and measures exactly how much you need each time. The coffee filter is included and permanent, there is no need to purchase a disposable filter. There is also an awesome feature to stop the drip when you remove your cup from under the drip mechanism. The machine comes with a scoop on the side of the machine to help measure how much coffee you need. I feel that the amount it suggests is the perfect amount for me. Since it is a scoop to use with your own ground coffee, the amount you use is easy to change due to preference. Overall I really love this coffee machine, and would recommend it to others.
