Trying to make smoothies using frozen fruit is a disaster. It will also not pulverize ice chunks. It is not strong enough to pulverize the fruit and I end up with chunks of pineapple or strawberries, no matter how long I mix it. I have tried letting the fruit thaw and it still leaves chunks. It defeats the purpose of a smoothie maker if you have to mix it for so long it turns to a soupy mix! Unfortunately I would not recommend this to anyone.

I live in a three story house and if I turn this on when someone is sleeping, anywhere in the house, they won’t be sleeping anymore.

It’s has been almost a year and a half and all of a sudden it started smoking and has an awful burning smell. I’m not sure if it’s a defective one as most people love theirs and use it every day. However, we won’t be purchasing another ninja.

What makes this product unique to me was the inclusion of the powerful base to go with the personal drink sized containers. At 1100 watts, this has similar power to a full sized blender system but in a more compact package that's easy to clean. The Auto-IQ system has two timed modes built in for perfect crushed ice or smoothies. The smoothie button works well for shakes too. This is a big step up in usability from a previous bullet sized system we've had, without being as big as a full sized blender. Definitely worth a look.
