Compatible with K-Cup type coffee pods, this coffee maker also allows ground coffee to brew different hot or cold types of coffee. The water tank is sufficient enough to handle at least 4-5 cups of coffee at one time before needing a refill. The settings are on one dial to simplify the process of selecting the different type of coffee you like. I enjoy the small narrow design to fit on my counter without taking much space. There is even a attached pull out milk frother to customize your drinks even more, making it an all-in-one one stop shop for coffee production. The Frother itself is quiet and warms the milk up to an efficient drinkable temperature, but the machine itself as it brews the coffee on the hot side is a little buzzy. Nothing short of what's expected but I feel like it could be quieter. When using ground coffee clean up as a breeze just pull out the filter and there's no mess. The filter is reusable, washable and very durable. With care, I can see this coffee machine being used for a long time in an individual office desk setting, or single person apartment. I can't see it being used for full house family that drink coffee on the regular.

I have used it 3 times and it stopped working. Makes loud weird noise and does not pump out coffee. Will return!

Ninja used to be top of the line. This thing, within a year, stopped making coffee using the basket and would only use K cups. Ninja eventually replaced the entire unit, and now that replacement has also quit using the basket. We will not buy a Ninja coffee maker again.

I have for several years now big an enthusiastic fan of another big name manufacturer of single-serve coffee making. This is just for full disclosure that I am giving the Ninja PB051 SIX out of five stars on this review, and it is only because Ninja earned it. I have used, owned, or product tested several varied brands and styles of coffee makers over the years. The Ninja PB051, in my opinion, is the coolest single-serve coffee maker I have ever used. Out of the box, the unit is easy to set up and get brewing with. So much so that, for me, reading the instructions overcomplicated my initial use. It really is just filling the unit with water. Choosing which style of coffee you want, how much you want, and hitting the brew button. I enjoy the ergonomic water reservoir design. When it is early in the morning, and you are making coffee. It can be one of those start of day nuisances that can be a catalyst for the rest of your day when you cannot immediately get the water reservoir back onto the unit quickly and easily. I am impressed with the design team for thinking of grumpy morning people like me. The tank is concaved on two sides and will go on either way. My next shoutout to that design team is the sophisticated styling of the top interface buttons. They are lightly illuminated and offer a certain zen vibe that is hard for me to articulate, but I assure you it is there. The whole setup fits nicely on our countertop and will even sit on our current pod raiser tray without impeding the cabinets above or the overall use of the device. The unit offers four coffee style selections and offers two ways to produce them. I was surprised to see that I can use traditional coffee grounds, or it is equally compatible with K-Cups. The PB051 provides governance trays for either grounds or pods. The side of the device has a little compartment to stow away whichever one is not in use to avoid the possibility of loss. Having used K-Cups for so long, I had to dig into the back of the cabinet to find a filter and grounds. I was not disappointed and appreciated the waste consideration from Ninja. The coffee maker also has an inlaid scoop for easy measuring and again stowage. My favorite part might also be my only complaint about the Ninja PB051. The foldaway built-in milk frother is a nifty addition. I mean, I love being able to turn my coffee into a latte in an instant. I joke and tell people that since I began drinking coffee, I have rarely ever chosen straight black coffee because I love myself. So, my complaint is for how wonderfully the designers planned every other aspect of this unit the frother. The frother honestly hangs too low and you almost have to snake your material underneath it. I would have also liked to have seen it on the front and not a random side. We have our coffee maker on the left of the cabinet next to the pantry, which is a wall. For me to use the frother, I must slide everything over. Not a deal breaker, but more often than not I only froth milk on the weekend so I do have to jack with anything early in the day 😊. This Ninja PB051 is full of wonderful inclusions that differentiate and separate it as a daily driver coffee maker. This Ninja produces superior-tasting coffees from either grounds or pounds. It is also able to do this in each of its four style choices. I am now a bigger fan of this Ninja.

Not a good product! The pods side of it stopped working after 7 months of owning it it!

I have to say I’m a huge fan of Ninja products and this coffee maker definitely did not disappoint! The look from out of the box is a work of art, sleek and beautiful. Included instructions were easy to understand and after cleaning and calibrating the components of the machine I was ready to go. I really love that with a simple accessory swap out you can use either ground coffee or K-cups. The buttons on the top to select your preferred style of brewing your coffee is easy to understand and use. I have used both the K-cup and ground coffee versions and both have given me the desired strength and flavor. I look forward to using this Ninja coffee maker each day. The water reservoir is easy to take off and snap back into place with no mess. I really like the side storage to keep the basket you are not using nicely tucked away until you want to swap it out. There is a measuring spoon on the side of the machine neatly stored as well. The milk frothing wand on the side stay out of the way until you wish to use it, there is a button on the top of the swing arm to turn the frothing action on. Clean up is easy and I personally like the fact that the ground basket has a built in filter to cut down on waste. With a machine like this I can save so much time and money not going out for coffee! This is the perfect machine for me as I am the only coffee drinker in my home. To date, this is my favorite coffee maker I have ever owned hands down.

Good if you intend to make 100-120 coffees and then it will break. Broke twice once after warranty and then after replacing in warranty.

Used for a few months then it wouldn't work. and couldn't even smell the coffee.

This review came in my email right after the machine stopped working after 1 month of minimal use. It's only for occasional use. Trying to deal with Ninja customer support is a nightmare. They do chat and the agent would go away for 5-10 mins at a time to deal with another customer.

Had bad luck with ninja coffee makers before but decided to give this a try. Big mistake! Machine was working great with the k-cups until I used the filter for a couple of days, went back to k-cups and it wouldn’t brew the cups anymore, only using the filter. Ninja support wanted to send me a new power cord lol. Good thing I paid for the warranty at BB.

Bought this Ninja and thought it was a good purchase. Wrong. Using a K-cup pod it bursts and of course grounds everywhere. Every time I used this brand, it would do it. Today Clean came on. It would not even let me clean it. Just made noise and stopped. The water pump motor must be shot as others have mentioned. Waste of money.

Absolute garbage! First one stopped working (pump issue) in less than one month. Returned it and tried the second one. Now this one is shot in just over a month. Hoping I can return it for a refund and just go with a Keurig!

Broke in 2 months!!!! Took to the store, they refused to take it back, because I had not purchased GeekSquad Protection!! BestBuy is a theif!!! all they do is just sell their protection plans, not even worrying about consumers!!

With a built in frother and storage compartment for the pod or bean grounds basket, this single serve brewer from Ninja has a lot of functionality in it's small footprint, making it perfect for those with RVs, condos, or wanting something they can put away in between uses. The controls/inputs face upward (versus being on the front panel) so keep that mind depending on your own height and/or placement on a surface. Said controls are simple, involving push buttons and lights, with no digital display or clock. Having said that, there are backlit fonts that light up as you push the corresponding button to adjust your selection. Coffee brewing is straight forward. Everything works as it should and there is very little if any learning curve involved with the process. My one operational-based gripe is that you are limited to a single style of pod: the larger generic pod shape. There is no adapter to work with K-cups, or either of the Nespresso styles. My only other gripe, is the price. This is a very simple design and the controls/interface are basic. It is obvious that costs were saved by going this route. It is still a great brewer, but I would keep an eye on sales. The lack of an adapter and the cost is the justification for removing a star from my review, but I would still recommend it baring those two things in mind.

The Ninja Pods & Grounds Specialty Single-Serve Coffee Maker is another awesome coffee maker released by Ninja. I really like the Ninja brand since they always seem to release high-quality products and this single-serve pods & grounds specialty coffee maker fits right in with the rest of Ninja’s great line of products. One of the things I love about this particular coffee maker is how compact it is. It has a very slim design which made it easy for me to find the perfect spot for it on my kitchen counter. The fact that it is also able to store all of the components it comes with in the machine itself so they don’t have to be stored elsewhere is a huge benefit as well. Another thing I really like is how the cup tray is adjustable. It can be raised so there isn’t any splashing when brewing into a shorter coffee cup or it can be lowered for brewing into taller travel mugs. This type of ingenuity is what I really love and have come to expect from Ninja. I could go on and on about how much I like every little feature such as the ability to use actual coffee grounds OR pods and how easy it is to clean and maintain the machine before even commenting about the quality of the coffee produced itself which is also amazing. The ability to brew a great tasting cup of coffee in 4 different and distinct styles (classic, rich, over ice, or specialty brew) from such a compact machine is incredible and I couldn’t be any more impressed. In summary, the Ninja Pods & Grounds Specialty Single-Serve Coffee Maker is one of the best coffee makers I have had the pleasure of using and I highly recommend it!

6 months old and not working. Love when it worked but too expensive to keep replacing every 6 months to a year have had 4 ninja coffee makers and none last
