Heating element died after 1 month. Best Buy has a 15 day warranty. Note to self - don’t buy anything from Best Buy!

I had for two month and its not working. Water doesn't flow and its over heating. I wanted it to return but I coudn't.

Quit working after a month and was told it could only be replaced once. Second one last 2 months and same thing it quit working. Junk!

After 2nd brew it started giving ashy/burned taste. Did cleanup couple times that flavor never went away. Can’t even return it at this point. I guess I’m stuck with it now.

Stopped working after three weeks and of course they only give you two weeks to be able to return it. I used it exactly 5 times before it stopped working completely. No refund available etc..

Returned as water reservoir was broken. Stood in line 25 mins as customers service shares a line with checkout.

This Ninja coffee maker replaces an older 10-cup model I have from a different manufacturer. The Ninja PB051 is smaller than my older model, so much so that it can sit on the countertop without any interference with the cabinet doors. As I noted above, my older coffee maker had the ability to make 10 cups at a time. It was also network aware, and showed the time and could be remotely controlled. It would also notify me when it was finished making coffee. This model can’t do any of those things. And yet, I very rarely used any of those features, with the exception of using it to show the correct time. The point being, I rarely make more than one cup of coffee at a time, so this Ninja coffee maker appears to be all I really need. I never use PODS, so I can’t speak to how well this unit performs when using PODS. I grind my own beans, so coffee grounds are my go-to method. Still, this unit supports both PODS and Grounds, and has two brew baskets specifically for those tasks. Upon receipt, my first task was running it through a clean cycle. Since this was brand new, I didn’t have to worry about emptying water from the removable 56-oz. water reservoir. I added 16oz of vinegar to the reservoir, then filled the reservoir with water up to Max line. To activate the clean cycle, press the CLEAN button once (on top of the unit), and then press the BREW button. And make sure you have a bowl that’s big enough to hold at least 56oz of liquids. The coffee maker then runs for 75 minutes going through the clean cycle. When done, the coffee maker will turn itself off. After finishing the Clean cycle, I discarded the vinegar/water mixture in the sink. I washed the reservoir out and ran a 6oz cycle of fresh water through the unit to clean out any remaining residual vinegar. Buttons used to Control the coffee maker are as follows: • Power Button • Clean Button • Style • Size • Brew The Power Button and Clean Button are self-explanatory. Style Button ---------------- This button allows you to select Classic, Rich, Over Ice, and Specialty Coffee. I almost always use the Classic option but have used the Rich on occasion if I want a more whole-body flavor. The option “Over Ice” assumes that you’ve filled your cup/mug with ice prior to making the coffee. Size Button --------------- This button lets you select how much coffee will be processed during the cycle. Please ensure that your cup’s capacity is large enough to handle your selection. At this writing, there are 7 sizes: 6oz, 8oz, 10oz, 12oz, 14oz, 18oz, and 24oz. I have a 24oz tumbler that I use, so I used it to test out the 24oz size option. It filled the tumbler up to the very top of the rim. I was certain it was going to overflow, but it stopped just in time. I guess a lesson learned is, use something that has a higher capacity than just 24oz unless you’re going to stand there and monitor its progress. How much coffee ground you use is relative to how strong you like your coffee. The instruction manual recommends the following: • Use 2-3 scoops when you’re making 6oz-12oz of coffee. • Use 3-5 scoops when making 14oz-18oz • Use 5-7 scoops when making 24oz • Use 4 scoops when making Specialty drinks. For me, I use only 1 scoop for a 6oz coffee mug. I felt the 2-scoop option was too strong for my liking. It’s all relative to what your tastebuds can handle. Remember that a scoop comes with the coffee maker, so you don’t have to purchase anything for this task. This unit also comes with a built-in, fold away Frother Whisk. Place some milk or cream into a cup and use the Frother with whip it up into a fluffy, silky topping. Spoon some out and top off your drink. I used to use the Frother on a much older coffee maker, and I enormously enjoyed enhancing my coffee drinks this way. This coffee maker comes with a permanent screened filter. After using the unit to make coffee, I had to wonder if the screened filter would allow the addition of a paper filter. Unfortunately, the documentation specifically instructs us not to do so. I like doing so because it is so much easier to dispose of the grounds, i.e., take the paper filter out and just throw it away. But, they recommend against doing that. In all, this coffee maker is pretty simple to use. It has a detachable water reservoir making it easy to fill up with water; the controls are located on top of the unit and are easy to read; and the unit comes with a spoon to help measure how much coffee grounds to use. It couldn’t be simpler. This isn’t the fastest coffee maker I’ve ever used, but it does get the job done. My only question is how long it’ll hold up to everyday use.

My absolute favorite coffee machine! Only one I've found that I have the option to either use a K-cup or I can brew my own coffee grounds (the filter is big enough!) I love the variety of options - 4 oz, classic, rich, over ice, with a frother... The compact size fits well on my counter and looks nice. Well priced too!

Such an amazing design and very user friendly! This machine has a sleek, modern look and so many brew options including classic, rich, extra rich and specialty brew. I love that you can use either coffee grounds or K-Cups, along with six different ounce amounts. This coffee maker has an unique brew over ice feature that I have not seen in another model. This is so great because it will not create a watered-down version of an iced coffee! My favorite feature is the collapsible milk frother. So quick and easy to use while waiting for coffee to brew, then easily tucks away for compact storage. I really love that the cup platform is adjustable. This really helps with controlling the pour for a mess free process. My only complaint is that I do wish this machine was compatible with the reusable K-cup filter. Having that added feature would be much more eco-friendly and cost-effective option. The machine is very compact and fits nicely on a standard countertop, plus all of the attachments and optional compartments easily tuck into each other. I really like the length of the electrical cord, as it can easily be tucked behind a cabinet for a seamless appearance. The instruction manual was very clear on how to clean and prep this machine for first use. The packaging Nicely covered the machine and all compartments for perfect protection. This is a wonderful addition to our home, and I highly recommend it!

The Ninja PB051 is a nice compact size and it bring back the real taste of coffee. This coffee maker is really nice for the following reasons, The footprint is nice and compact, you have the option to use the coffee grounds or the cups, the water capacity is up to 54 oz and it gives you the options on how concentrated you want your coffee to be and the size you want. The coffee marker is very easy to use and cleanup is a breeze. The machine has storage space for the ground coffee permanent filter when using cups. It does have its own measuring spoon that is stored on the side of the machine. Over all i am very satisfied with this coffee maker and the options you have right at your fingertips. The drip tray can be lowered or raised depending on your coffee cup size. The amount of coffee to be brewed can be selected as 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 18, and 24 oz for the normal but does also have a specialty brew that is preset at 4oz. Just the option this coffee machine gives you make it worth every bit and totally would recommend to a friend.

The new Ninja Pods & Grounds Specialty Single Serve Coffee Maker used both K-cups and ground coffee to make a variety of coffee drinks. The machine is sleek and has a small footprint. It has a decent size water reservoir although I wish it were it had a little larger capacity. A handy 1 Tbs. coffee scoop is attached to the side. There's also on-board storage for the coffee filter attachment, which simply swaps out for the k-cup attachment. It's tall enough to be able to pour directly into most 16 or 20oz mugs. The top features a display where you can select the style and size of the brew, as well as the power and brew button. Illuminated icons show whether it's set to brew k-cups or fresh grind, and a progress bar shows how much longer is left before the brew is complete. The power is on a timer, so it will auto-shut off -- you can't set it to leave the water on. There is also no temperature adjustment. Measuring the drink temp as it was brewed an 8 oz cup of coffee showed about 175F at the start and finished at about 195F. Using the filter and fresh ground coffee, a 24oz cup using the "rich" setting took about 4 minutes, and the finished temp in the cup was 182F. Using a k-cup and an 8oz "over ice" setting resulted in a delicious iced coffee. Using a k-cup and "specialty" setting results in a strong, espresso-like brew, which was surprisingly decent. The Ninja has a handy frother to aerate milk, but the milk needs to be heated separately in a microwave. Overall the Ninja is a very flexible single server coffee machine that allows for several styles of coffee drinks with either ground coffee or k-cups, and the results are very good, at a budget that results in quite a good value. It has permanently replaced my standard single-brew Keurig as my main single-brew coffee maker.
