I juice with a juicer and to the juice i add fresh fruit (bananas etc.)and a bag of spinach these are green smoothies. I pack them in ice in my cooler. The blender does not blend well lots of chunks, and when you add fruit you have to stop and take the lid off because the pour spout is the only opening and you can't add before because the blade has to be centered for the lid to be placed on, what a mess!

    Died after a year

Loved it - really loved it, but unfortunately the plastic components on the top of the base unit and the bottom of the jar are made of rubbery plastic that broke down and turned to bits of black plastic everywhere. Of course it happened just after the 1 year warranty was over. Ninja was unbelievably difficult to deal with and would not help me make my credit card extended warranty claim. The service was so bad that I thought I was being punked. Really disappointed with Ninja service and product durability. I guess that's why you have to pay so much for a Vitamix!

Bought it three months ago. Used it twice a day for protein shakes. It worked ok while it worked. This morning the power switch failed. Too many fail safes, locks, and buttons. These people cant even MAKE an appliance where the on button functions more than 180 times. Can't find the receipt. won't waste my time getting a piece of junk repaired, so into the trash it goes. I figure it cost me about 50 cents a shake..

    Doesn't cut it

The tower of blades blocks the loading of fruit and vegetables. So unless you plan on blended pure liquids this is a problem. Also once you stuff and force your load into the blender, you turn it on only to be disappointed. The blender is incapable of creating a smooth texture. Small flaky chunks are left behind. Not worth the hard-earned currency I paid. Over-priced and overrated.

My kids loved this blender for smoothies. Very safe to operate. Then my son put the pitcher on the base with the handle on the left instead of on the right. And now it won't operate AND the pitcher is stuck to the base. Called the help line, and they told me to send the blender and $75 to "repair". 3 week old blender.... Straight to the trash. Awful.
