Ninja programmable XL
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our old coffee maker was rather large and took up a lot of counter space. This coffee maker is nice and compact which works for our limited space. I like that the warmer automatically shuts off after two hours and the removable water tank is very convenient.

Awesome Coffee Maker
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the look and taste of coffee made with this machine. The larger cup capacity is great for dinner parties. I also love the timer and stay warm functions as well as the fact that it has a reusable filter and I no longer have to buy paper filters.

Dont let the brand fool you
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lpved my first ninja coffee maker decided to stick with the brand when we bought a new one due to hard water buildup in the old. This Coffee maker was great at first but coffee pot left alot to he desired the design of the pour spout means if you brew a large pot it will run back down the pot when poured abd spill all over counters and floors requires you to pour the coffee a specific angle to keep this from happening and is super frustrating. Recently new issue has popped up where water is draining to quickly from the reservoir and draining out of the back of the coffee maker not happy with it would not buy again.

Neat Machine
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The cool new Ninja XL coffee machine is a great addition in a modern kitchen with minimalistic style. For a 14-cup coffee maker, I am pleasantly surprised that it looks very compact. Probably the credit goes to the smart design choice of the unit. A removable reservoir or tank is placed at the back makes the unit visually sleek and slim. However, taking it out of the slot is not as easy as the traditional coffee makers, where all you do is flip open the top lid and pour in water. Depending on how you placed your unit, you might have to make some effort to adjust its position to take the tank out. Or you would have to reach out behind the machine to fill up water (a little further than a traditional unit because of its overall size). Nevertheless, I would sacrifice a slight inconvenience in filling up the tank to the sleekness of design. The process of filling the tank is only a little more difficult than a traditional coffee maker but is certainly not an impediment. On the plus side, having a removable tank makes washing so much easier than a traditional unit. There should be no problem of scaling after a few months of you, hopefully. If you stand in front of the unit, you will be able to see the calibrations (marked in bold letters) from front because the tank is about an inch wider than front section. Calibrations are clearly visible on both sides very easily. A scoop or spoon is neatly hidden away on top giving the unit a nice clean look. I noticed the spoon when I was taking out the machine from the box. But it is almost invisible if you choose to tuck away your coffee maker under the kitchen counter. I can imagine having to direct a guest to the placement of the spoon. In this case, I like that neatness of design. The information about the number of spoons needed per cup is very, very useful. The features are all as expected. The one that stands out is probably the 1-4 cups small brews. In general, I like that feature because it gives me more control on the strength of my cup of coffee. Being the only coffee drinker in the house, I would probably be using the small brew feature a lot. I absolutely appreciate the ability to program the coffee maker using the delay feature. It worked for me and hopefully, continue to work without any errors. The “Warm” setting is useful for a XL-size machine. The plate remains hot, otherwise, for two hours before turning off. The unit gives the option of making coffee of two strengths, rich and classic. I tried them both and there is certainly a distinct difference between the strong, rich version and the lighter version. This is really a personal choice, but the product has the ability to personalize the coffee strength. Instead of a streaming downpour of hot water from the top, this coffee maker has a shower design (multiple holes) as its pouring system. The coffee is placed in a conical brew basket. Since hot water showers down through multiple holes, the coffee is consistently soaked. Probably because of the showering technology, this machine is not the fastest. “Rich” setting certainly takes more time. But that is not unexpected. If I need coffee faster in the morning, I can always program it. The detachable filter may be replaced by #4 disposable filter cones if one intends to avoid the permanent stains. The carafe is sleek and has a stable cover The cover is detachable which makes cleaning easier. The packaging of the machine is minimalist but effective. I am glad that there are no pesky Styrofoam. Styrofoam is bad for babies, dogs, and the landfill. Mainly, cardboard is designed in a way that provided sturdy cushioning. The manual is simple and brief. The list of warnings come before the actually guide to using the coffeemaker. I approve of this design choice. The two pages of bold “DO NOT” can make one curious at first and then find the information actually quite useful. The pictures and explanations of how to-s are written with clarity and appropriate detail. The troubleshoot section is small. The list includes some pointless troubleshooting tips like if coffee is weak, add more coffee. But can see how that may be a potential problem. I would have liked to see more important specifics like what to do when the speed of brewing starts to decline. The descaling process is described is a different section, but I would have liked to see more information and option on products that I can use (other than Ninja’s own product and white vinegar) or chemical compositions that should be avoided. The “notes” section is a redundant filler in the manual. I am not sure who would like to take notes in a manual. It is too soon to know how long the product will last, if it will start slowing down, how often I will need to descale it, or the perfect recipe for my personal cup. But it is a nice addition to the kitchen and makes great coffee.

I would buy again.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have bought more expensive coffeemakers which unfortunately would not last. They leak or just stopped working. The Ninja coffee maker is a nice surprise. Makes hot, good coffee. I would buy again.

Great coffeemaker. Terrible carafe.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The carafe spills from the spout on every pour, without fail. It does that irritating thing where it runs down the side of the carafe and deposits the hot coffee squarely on to your counter or foot, adding to morning dread. Coffee maker works fine. I dont think they actually tested the carafe.

A nice step up from a standard drip machine
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This coffee maker is a step up from the traditional drip machines. It has a large capacity, but can also make 1-4 cups without skimping on quality. Because it first saturates the grounds before the actual brew, there is a button to let the machine know that it only needs to saturate a small amount instead of a full basket. This leads to high quality regardless of the brew size. Additionally, there are two brew strengths and the warming plate has an adjustable temperature (high, medium, and low). I really like the built in scoop which is even labeled to say that 1 scoop equals 2 cups. Using the scoop produced a quality brew so I was happy. When it comes to programming, the machine has hour and minute buttons which permit the time to be set really easily. From there, a time can also be set to start a delayed brew. It is important to note that the machine will always empty the water reservoir. The water level in the reservoir ultimately determines how many cups will be brewed, so the reservoir must be refilled each time a new pot of coffee is made/planned. I am happy that the reservoir is removable for easy filling and cleaning. I believe all of the parts not permanently attached are top rack dishwasher safe. The glass carafe has a nice new feature I have never seen before on a drip machine: a locking lid. The lid is easy to open and close, but it does a great job at reducing spills and preventing the coffee from evaporating. I purposely turned the carafe on its sides and most of the coffee stayed in. It’s not made to hold 100% of the liquid inside, but it still works much better than average. I am also happy to say that I can pore a cup of coffee without any dripping down the side of the carafe. I don’t know how many makers I have seen over the years where there is always a problem with dripping as I pored the cup. They did a great job engineering this one. Last but not least, the look of the machine is aesthetically pleasing. It has a modern yet simple design. I am also confident that I could hand the machine to my mom and she should be able to instantly know how to use it. There are no intimidating LCD displays. Each button has a light to show whether it is on or off. It could not be any easier while still having modern functionality to produce higher quality coffee. The only negative I have is that I would prefer that the machine have the ability to brew in ounces or cups instead of draining the reservoir every time. I expect to refill the reservoir if I am making a full pot, but not necessarily if I am just making 1 or 2 cups.
