I don't use it as intended

Other than the Amiibo puck on the bottom, they are entirely soft and the boys love to squeeze them.

Cool plush amiibo

Per a developer interview it was the creation of a staff member who wanted to more directly help out with the game development. She created the original prototype and the developers loved it so they integrated it into the game as an amiibo. As an amiibo it works as any Yoshi amiibo but has the benefit of being a plush as well. There was also a very rare giant plush Yoshi amiibo that was released around the same time but only seen by Toys R Us when they were in business, so it's very difficult to find and went for $40 new, now goes for much more.
