You need this to play shovel knight in coop but it's sad that you have to have it to play. This should be an addition, not a requirement.

The paint on this figure doesn't look that clean. A lot of out of the line coloring present. Otherwise a nice figure.

Shovel Knight is a great game, and the Wii U version was given this Amiibo figure that unlocks co-op mode.

The Shovel Knight Amiibo is amazing. I really have no past experiences with other Amiibo figures but after playing through the awesome Shovel Knight on the Wii U, I just had to have this cool looking figure. The quality looks excellent. One of my favorite parts about this particular one is that you don't have to take him out of the package if you want to use the NFC feature of the Amiibo and unlock bonus content in the game. Great job Nintendo and Yacht Club Games!

Not only is this amiibo impeccably beautiful, it adds substantial content to the base game that you can only get through purchase of the amiibo. I can't name another amiibo produced so far that has added such a bountiful amount of in-game bonuses. Coop play in Shovel Knight is awesome, and if the aesthetic value of the amiibo isn't enough to persuade your purchase, bonus content such as that should be.

Shovel Knight is a great game, and for the 3DS and Wii U versions, this corresponds with it. The game itself you can pick up for $15 digitally and $25 physically. IMO, its absolutely worth it. That said, what about the amiibo? Although I'm in the U.S., and the amiibo doesn't release until January 8th here, I can safely say that the amiibo itself is also absolutely worth it. Really, the reason why is because it unlocks 2-player and challenges. Those 2 things are awesome. If you can, get this amiibo whether you have a collection or are a Shovel Knight fan.

If you've played Shovel Knight, you know that it's an awesome game that just keeps getting better with each new update. The amiibo campaign that you use with this figure is really well done - it could have been gimmicky in the wrong hands but they actually made it worthwhile to play through the game again with this amiibo. Basically you use it to save your progress and power up rather than using in-game gold to buy upgrades. But it has some other great features like letting you change the color of your on-screen knight and add effects ranging from sparkles to a bee that follows you around. I believe this is one of the best uses of amiibo, and the figure itself looks great!

If you like Shovel Knight and Amiibo, a Shovel Knight Amiibo is a no-brainer. It looks gorgeous and I can't wait to see its functionality with the game. I hope to see more offbeat Amiibo like this in the future!

I decided to surprise my daughter with this as I heard it was going to become a rare item over time. The amiibo is beautifully painted and has great detail. It's great for any amiibo collection.
