    A good gift card

If you know anyone who has a Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Wii U, or Nintendo 3DS system, then an eShop card is a good idea for a gift. It's something more thoughtful than a generic gift card, while still allowing them some choice in what game(s) they want to buy. $20 may not seem like much, but it is a decent amount. There are several games available for $10 or less on the Nintendo eShop, especially during sales, so this card could definitely get someone one game and probably even two or more depending on what they want to go for.

Great way to add money to your Nintendo eshop account or gift to a friend. I had an issue when I scratched off to reveal the code, that the last 4 digits were unreadable. Contacted Nintendo support and they were able to add the amount to my account overnight!

    Perfect for Surprise Rewards!

Every so often best buy sends a surprise rewards email that you have to go into the store to check and spend. The last two times they were the pretty standard $5 reward. I end up buying this as it does not expire and I'm always in need of eshop cards. 50% off the card, then if I wait for games on the eshop to go on sale, it is like a double discount.

Gift cards are the way to go for sure! It's a great way to control your own or your kids spending. If you have some extra cash, throw it on a gift card, apply it to your gaming account, and save it for when a sale happens or when a game is released but you don't have the funds to spare then!

    Easy and Quick

I ended up purchasing a Nintendo eCard because it was easier then trying to use the Nintendo online purchase system. I have found that the card is quick and easy, using the numbers from the back to use with purchases. My only concern is how easy it is to rub too hard to where the numbers come off. So make sure you are scratching from a flat surface and scratching softly.

If you are like me and don't like having your credit card information stored on the Nintendo e-shop, this is your only other option to buy digital games. Using it is quite simple, thankfully, and there is no tax added to the sale to make it a painful choice.

I'm not great at giving gifts. This is a great way to give a gift for a friend who has a Nintendo Switch (or Switch Lite or 3DS, I believe) and let that person decide what to buy. I specifically wanted to get my friend Untitled Goose Game but didn't want to lock him into it so I decide to let him decide what to download.

Quick and easy to buy/use if you're hesitant to put a credit card in your eshop account. Definitely recommended over paying for a digital game in a physical store. Sometimes the eshop has sales that means you may be overpaying for a digital game if you buy it outside of the eshop. Hope this helps.

50 digital Nintendo dollars for online purchases. You must first have a Nintendo online account that has been linked for online gameplay and entertainment. You can use the digital money as soon as your transaction is finalized and you can use the money towards digital Nintendo games, movies, subscriptions, or D.L.C.

If you like wondering how much money is on a card that's been in your wallet for a year, this is the kind of gift card for you. (Otherwise, get a digital gift card.) Personally, I think it can be a nice surprise to find a card years later and learn you have a random $2.16 left to spend. Ka-ching!

I love getting as well as giving these cards as gifts. They are perfect for people who are hard to shop for but love video games. This allows them to shop at their own pace for whatever they might find interesting.
