I think these cards are great to have. I don't like to enter my credit card information in to buy something from the Nintendo eshop. These cards help to avoid that. Very easy to use.

When in doubt a gift card or prepaid card in this case is a great gift. Not sure what games they have give them credit to get their own. Unfortunately $50 is not enough for full priced WiiU games.
