My son seems to always find neat downloadable games for his Nintendo 3DS. Giving the gift card allowed him to load this to credit so now the next thing he finds to download he has the $ needed.

Worked just fine. I paid $50 in store and got $50 of eShop credit. As long as you don't scratch so hard that the numbers come off, there's not really much that can go wrong in operating these.

Easy way to get quick cash onto my 3DS or Wii U. Haven't used the cash yet, but may get one of (or both of) the NES remixes that came up. I also need to get Nintendoland at some point as well.

The new smaller $10 card features a good Yoshi design and makes a great small gift. There are now a tremendous number of excellent eShop games, many under $10, that this card can be used toward.
