I was used to my little pop socket then this bad boy was sent to me. Amazing. Love it. It’s simple to use and magnetic. I disliked that I had to slide my phone up with my other stand. With this one I can pull it off. It’s strong enough to hold my phone up in the same position and it doesn’t move the whole ride. I am definitely not switching this out anytime soon. I commute about 200 miles a day to and from work. So having something reliable in traffic that’s bumper to bumper sometimes is definitely a safety bonus. Try it, it’s convenient.

There are many products available to get a mobile device to stay in a convenient location. Many of them are stupid, or disturb the use of some feature (blocking an air vent, occupying a cup holder, etc.). The Nite Ize system can get your device just about anywhere it will fit, and keeps it there. I have purchased a couple of these, so I installed a ball in each vehicle, so that my phone can be attached in the right place no matter what I’m driving. Be sure to clean the surface first, and let it sit 24 hours before using it!

This phone mount is amazing and super sturdy. Don’t let the size fool you. Its easy to install in your car. I love the size of the holder “magnet”. It really holds up your phone nicely. Ive had car phone mount like the one that goes on the a/c vent which it would fall all the time but not this one. You can adjust your phone in anyway you want it. Definitely recommend this product if you are looking for something not to big to hold your phone. It definitely does its job. Love it small and strong.

Had to install in my husband's car because I didn't have a flat surface that was in reach of the driver's seat that I wanted to stick it to. You won't have any worries about this not holding your device! The magnet is extremely strong! I do like the sleekness of it. Great dash mount for any device. I'm sure it's strong enough to hold a tablet as well!

I've tested the Steelie for a couple of weeks now, and I can definitely say that this is an effective phone mount. I've navigated a few different roads (no off-terrain for a more rigorous test), and my phone doesn't move at all. This is how a phone mount should be. All the parts of the kit appear to be high quality, though some wear has already shown on the steel plate, which is expected. This does't alter its effectiveness in any way, however. While the mount is strong enough to keep orbiter, and therefore my phone, still enough that it doesn't budge, it has become a slight nuisance to always have to rip my phone off the orbiter. Additionally, The orbiter socket itself is stiff that you'll have to rotate your phone somewhat slowly when necessary. And though it's no fault of its own, the mount will only fit one spot in my vehicle, and so it isn't exactly the easiest to reach if I need to navigate my phone. If it somehow could extend even an inch or two, that would be fantastic. Just a minor gripe, but I wish that the kit included an extra 3M adhesive for the metal plate if you got a new phone case or phone altogether. You'll have to hunt for your own if and when that happens.

Here in Ohio there has been a law proposed that would prohibit picking up your phone while the car is in motion. This means you need a mount for your phone. Of course the law hasn't passed but I figured, why not go ahead and get a mount and get ahead of it because eventually this will be the law whether its this year or next. I already had a mount in my car so this was going to go into my wifes car and support her iPhone 7. Mounting it to her phone was easy, then using the alcohol wipe on her dash was easy as well, and did no visible discoloration. We mounted the unit to her dash and waited a few days per the instructions, then she began using it. After about a week of use so far all has worked great. She did mount hers in a way that the phone overhangs another ledge so going over bumps really cannot cause the phone to tilt downwards, a complaint I've seen elsewhere about this type of mount. All in all we are very happy with the Nite Ize, well my wife loves it and as they say Happy Wife, Happy Life! RECOMMENDED!!

I was disappointed that this device required that I stick a round disc (via peel-off sticker) on my dashboard. I'm not interested in attaching something to my dashboard and am not willing to find out whether it does (or doesn't) come off. Because of this, I wasn't able to find a good place to install the device. If you have an older car, or don't care if you "stick" something to the dashboard, the device works great, and the magnet successfuly holds the phone in place. The swivel function works good as well. Probably would not have purchased had I realized it had to be "stuck" to the dashboard. Maybe they can offer a model that applies via suction-cup to the windshield?

I've owned Steelie phone car mounts since the days when they were an independent company. Back then, you stuck the magnetic disc directly on your phone - the car attachment was simply the ball. Now, the metal plate goes directly on your phone or phone case with the ball still attached to your car, but with an intervening "orbiter" magnetic socket. Without the magnet directly on your phone or case, you don't have to worry about demagnetizing credit cards accidentally. I've always found the materials they use to be of the highest quality and nothing has changed with this newest iteration of a fine product. The only thing I would change is that the back of the product box appears to be a bit generic and misleading as it actually shows you the wrong product (it shows you the old Steelie as I described above).

Dash-mount works as advertised. I got this for my wife who has an iPhone 7. It took all of 5 minutes to mount on her dash. The mount is sturdy, holding the phone well even over bumpy roads, and it looks pretty cool as well.

I like the simplistic design of this mount with the slim metal plate attachment and magnetic ball. It works for a permanent placement in your vehicle. However, if you didn’t get it in the perfect spot the first time and decide try and move it, the sticky 3m tape is not as sticky anymore and doesn’t hold as well. This could be from the heat where I live or me just not cleaning the surface good enough. It is a great concept to keep down on clutter of the other bulky dash mounts that fail over time with the cheap plastic. I may continue to use this and just get some stronger 3m tape from the auto parts store.

I love how easy it is to take this one off dash. Just grab it take it down and put it back no fumbling around. Will definitely get another I like the freemount model.

Nite Ize Dash Mount Steelie Orbiter is solid, well-built and does a much better job than the magnetic vent mount phone holder I used to use. Nite Ize mount sticks well to my pebbled dash vinyl and holds my phone tight and in the perfect position for viewing while navigating using Apple or Google maps. Nite Ize will probably outlive my car so I expect many years of use with the device. I highly recommend Nite Ize and will be buying one for use in my wife's car.

LIke most people, I use my phone as my in-car GPS (Waze). This means finding the right way to hold my phone at an ideal angle is always a challenge. The Nite Ize Steelie Orbiter offers a near-perfect solution. Instead of a flat attachment for the magnet, it is a ball joint. This means you can adjust the Nite Ize Orbiter to any angle. If you're wondering, the magnetic connection in the ball joint is rock solid and and doesn't jitter, shake, or lose your adjustment as you drive (and I am just back from a long road trip). The only bit I am not a fan of and why I took off 2 stars is the Nite Ize is dash mounted. It has 3M tape to stick to your dash and while yes, it works it means it's not exactly a portable unit. If you plan to use the Nite Ize in just one car, this is great but if you're a 2 car family and want to switch it across cars then you need 2 Nite Ize units. I know some of you may think this criticism is unfair (and the box does point out this is the way it works) but feel like it's worth pointing out especially if you're buying this online and can't see the box. TIP. The Nite Ize attachment you stick to your phone (3M tape again) is a double sided magnet. So if you want your phone to sit flat, you can do as I did and stick the magnet inside your case so your phone will still sit flat on desk/table.

This device is a sturdy whatever you want holder for the car. Micro thin plate stuck to your phone case so doesn't catch on clothing. Small chrome magnet ball sticks to your place on the dashboard and whala! Hands free, stays in place, can twist/maneuver it around on the ball to your hearts content. A must have if you use your phone for Navigation. Best product I've seen that does it well!

This mount doesn’t take any space in your dashboard and actually looks quite nice. The magnet is super strong but it’s very easy to remove the phone when you need to.

Convenient small footprint can place it anywhere on dashboard the small round dash mount sticks on dash and holds solid no problem powerful magnet. The problem lies with the thin stick on wafer which I applied on the back of my phone case as in the instructions after 15 minutes of driving phone falls off. It claims you can stick on phone case and it will hold but does not. I really liked the idea and small size but it doesn't hold and if your phone QUI capable it will not be able to charge on a charging pad.
