First; The technical quality of this release is excellent. Some may prefer the Blu-Ray, but frankly unless either extreme special effects or extraordinary scenery is involved; I go with plain ol`DVD. The film itself is ....well...a bit of a 'Downer' for a Bond Film. I won`t say this is not worth seeing...but--like ALL of Daniel Craig`s Bond entries--there is NOTHING lighthearted about it. Craig`s entire tenure as James Bond has been so mired in misery, so lost in LOSS for Bond, that you have to wonder why the character is not in Therapy somewhere. He cannot 'win' for LOSING. ...And he loses EVERYTHING in this one. I will not go specific with a Spoiler, but y`know... Life just ain`t worth living if you`re DEAD. To sum up; This is an action-packed pay-off for Daniel Craig`s iteration of James Bond. If you have seen the others, you want to see this. Then you may do what my wife & I did; we pulled out some waaay old 'Classic Bond' and watched Connery and Moore engage in outrageous adventures with a fun, lighthearted 'Happy' Ending guaranteed. ....Every Time ! I know...I know... That is counter to the whole 'Grim-n-Gritty' mindset that permeates today`s adventure films for the most part... But a Happy Ending can sure be comforting now-n-then.
