    This was a terrible purchase. Withing three days the rollers started breaking and then things got worse. The customer support is TERRIBLE. They are very slow to respond and less than helpful. It took over a month to get replacement rollers sent under warranty and within two days those rollers started breaking. And no, I am not too big for the machine. The rollers are a cheap plastic that take all of the pressure on the rail. I am now two months without using the machine and will likely lose those two months of my warranty due to customer support incompetence. Stay away from this machine.

    Cheap plastic build, noisy and wasnt assembled properly out of the box. Two weeks trying to get Nordictrack to send a tech and ultimately had to get this thing back to best buy myself since they would not pick up again after the delivery. Annoyed with Best Buy and never buying another Nordictrack product.

    Quality rowing mechanism, small issues

    So I just got this and set it up. Did a quick workout on it and here are my initial observations: 1. When I ordered, it was called RW500. The site is calling it the RW850 now. It’s the same unit. I received the RW500 box and my receipt says RW850 but it is definitely the same unit. 2. It’s very heavy. Assembly was easy but you need your own wrenches and a philips head screwdriver. Metric or adjustable for the 13mm. 3. The strap is flat nylon and feels sturdy. The seat slides smoothly and the foot straps are robust. The actual rowing action is superb. Similar to the expensive gym stuff and the wheel blows air on you. 4. The console is a pain to figure out so I just ran it in manual mode. It came with a basic tablet that runs the iFit app. 5. One of my huge cons is that the beam that holds the console on was welded crookedly so the display is tilted counterclockwise at a quite noticeable angle. That’s extremely poor because if it was welded in a factory with a jig, everything should be at right angles. It looks like someone just tack welded it by hand. Heavily reduces the perceived quality of the somewhat expensive unit. 6. Also, my machine was packed very well and seemed new but had a few random white paint scuffs on black portions and scratches all over the logo. Not sure if it was refurbished to new at the factory and repackaged or damaged while packaging. Not the end of the world. Those are my quick impressions. Outside of the slanted mount for the console and the fact that I would have forgone all of the iFit and tablet stuff for a lower price (although the next model down is “only” $200 cheaper, I was worried about the rowing quality being lower), I can tell by the quality of the actual rowing that this will be my machine for a very long time.

    This product did not work from day one, Made an horrific noise that you could hear through the house. I have made numerous calls to icon fitness and they are worthless. Six months latter it has not been fixed . Cannot recommend this company

    Made a loud clicking noise the first time I used it. Nordic Track said they would send out a technician. I returned as I do not believe I should have to get a broken machine then wait 2 weeks to fix it.

    It is a garbage piece of junk!!!! Company tries everything in its power to void warranty so your stuck with 100lbs of metal. Don’t buy this machine

      I have great news for you. The RW500 Rower comes with a 10-year frame warranty, a 2-year parts warranty, and a 1-year labor warranty. This will not change after your purchase.

    Saddle on rower becoming, creaky w/in 15 days use

    The rower itself is fairly easy to use and I can achieve a solid workout in a short amount of time. My issue is the tablet it comes with. If I’m paying $800 for a piece of equipment, I expect all parts to be exceptional. The tablet is horrible. It is extremely slow and takes forever to load the iFit app, the iFit app crashes half the time I try to use it, and when the app actually does work the audio won’t connect over Bluetooth to the machine like it’s supposed to so I can’t hear anything - even at full volume. It’s extremely frustrating because whole reason I was sold on the Nordic Track machine over others was because of the iFit functionality, but the dysfunctional tablet renders it useless.

    I've now had this rower for 3 years and I habe nothing bad to say about this purchase. I still use it 3 times a week, and really appreciate the quality of it.
