    Came with the Dell laptop I purchased. Advertised as free for six months. Its not free. Requires a credit card to make it work so i couldnt use it. No value to me.

      Hi Jeffy - Sorry for the confusion, but it *absolutely* gives you 6 months of free security and identity protection. Credit card is just required to activate the subscription - there is no charge at the time entered - and can be IMMEDIATELY disabled so auto-renew doesn't happen. Value to you is it's free for 6 months - as advertised - it just has this as a registration prerequisite. - DWN Symantec

    I didnt personally use this for my 7 year olds tablet because it gives you 3 months free and then automatically renews itself and charges monthly. No thank you.

      Hi Treya - Sorry for the confusion, but it actually gives you 6 months of free security/identity protection, and then only auto-renews *if* you desire continued protection, in which case it is an annual renewal. If not, auto-renew is easily disabled and you just get your 6 months for free. Also, regarding your 7-year old, the Parental Control feature is very powerful, helping to keep your kids safe online, set screen-time limits, and much more, including my favorite 'Go to your virtual room' feature. This allows you to shut off access to all your child's devices with a singe click from the parent portal - great way to get kids to come to dinner! Thanks for your review. - DWN Symantec
