This product is a *FREE* attached product with any significant Best Buy purchase (like a laptop), but it's not enabled unless you activated it with the key sent in email. If you've not done that, no worries - there is no cost or obligation, just the free offer which you can ignore. - DWN

I expected a new computer to at least show me a sign that it was operational but still that didn’t happen. I returned and got a refund.

Six month subscription but you have to submit credit card information and then, at the end of the "free" subscription, it automatically gets renewed. What a scam. I declined.

Posted .Hi Diane - Thanks for your comment. Even if you don’t use the security software, please consider using Identity Advisor. It monitors for any misuse of your personal information (SSN, credit cards, etc) on the Dark Web and notifies you if found. This can be as or more important than protecting your information on your devices, and is not typically included in service provider offerings. Hope this helps - DWN
