    This came with my new desktop computer. But it won't download in less you give them your credit card information. So I do not feel comfortable knowing they will automatically renew my subscription without my authority.

We do take a credit card to activate like any other subscription service these days (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.) but there’s NO initial charge and you can cancel renewal at any time, including immediately after activating the license.
