Better off with windows default anti-virus

Unfortunately the windows anti-virus is a better “free” option. The VPN is a nice addition but Norton affects speedtesting software

Hi Francois - Thanks very much for your opinion, but if you really want the #FACTS on Microsoft Defender, watch this 3rd-party comparison of Norton and Defender. Same malware attacks used on both systems - Norton survives all the attacks, but Defender does not and the PC is rendered unusable, INCLUDING **complete removal of Defender**: https://youtu.be/S9LPxOPiYqU?si=ot2Bo4lSLd8nMyyN&t=448 norton_us

      Hi GregoryL,
Thanks for taking a moment to leave your feedback. I’m sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience—getting software you didn’t ask for can definitely feel annoying, especially when it isn’t something you planned to use.
Some new devices at Best Buy come bundled with Norton 360 as a complimentary add‑on, but you’re never required to keep it. If you prefer not to use it, you can simply skip the activation or uninstall it without any impact on your device purchase.
If you ever decide to give it another try or have questions about removing it, we’re always here to help. Your feedback is appreciated, and thanks again for sharing your experience. norton_us

I didn’t even bother installing the Norton 360 subscription that came with my new PC. Based on past experiences and what I've heard from others, I knew it would just slow down my system and flood me with annoying pop-ups. I bought a high-performance computer, and the last thing I want is to bog it down with unnecessary software. I appreciate the offer, but I’d rather keep my PC running smoothly without it. I'll stick with Microsoft Defender because it's much more reliable, efficient and already built into Windows. It’s disappointing that this was included and I wish they’d offer something less intrusive instead.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your presumptive experience with Norton 360 and LifeLock Identity Advisor wouldn’t meet your expectations. Our goal is to provide comprehensive cyber safety protection and peace of mind through features like VPN, identity monitoring, AI-based scam detection and multi-device security. We understand that not every solution fits every user’s needs, and though we appreciate your honesty, we do feel that a one-star review may not be entirely warranted without first trying the product and exploring its features - wouldn’t you agree? If there’s anything we can do to improve your experience or clarify the benefits of your *FREE* subscription, we’d be happy to help. norton_us
