Not a fan of Norton but it’s nice to see that bestbuy offers it with a purchase of a computer, but the only draw back is that you need to put a credit card in file so it can charge you for the following month..smb

Norton is an insidious machine selling add-on after add-on. Avoid like the plague. There are better, non-invasive programs that won't dominate your screen panning for money, or begging for you to tussle it's hair for doing menial tasks already run by the OS.

Hi Anthony - Thanks for your opinion, but what everyone *should know* is how susceptible to attack an unprotected Windows machine still is, or even one using included Windows Defender security. If you want the #FACTS on Microsoft Defender for example, watch this 3rd-party comparison of Norton and Defender. Same malware attacks used on both systems - Norton survives all the attacks, but Defender does not and is rendered unusable, INCLUDING **complete removal of Defender**: https://youtu.be/S9LPxOPiYqU?si=ot2Bo4lSLd8nMyyN&t=448- norton_us

Keep Microsoft Defender updated (it's free!) and spend some fraction of the cost and add NordVPN and you get an additional 1TB cloud storage and an excellent PW manager for less than $5 a month! Keep in mind - the best protection against cyberthreats is between your ears!!! All those Nortons & MacAfees are system hogs and if you want to keep your privacy? Think again...

Hi there! Totally get where you're coming from — adding a credit card for a free trial can feel like a hassle. But just wanted to share that Norton makes it easy to turn off auto-renewal either online at mynortonaccount.com or by calling their support team directly.

Even if you don’t plan to keep it long-term, the 6-month trial gives you access to some great protection features — antivirus, VPN, password manager, and dark web monitoring — all for free. It’s a nice way to test it out and see if it’s something you’d find valuable.

No pressure, of course — just wanted to encourage you to give it a shot. You might be surprised how much peace of mind it offers! norton_us

Thanks for your feedback. If you're interested in a third-party perspective on Defender, there's a helpful comparison video that puts both Norton and Defender through the same malware tests. It’s quite eye-opening: Norton successfully blocks all the threats, while Defender unfortunately doesn’t hold up as well.
