    I've had Norton for many years and they have always done a good job protecting me save a couple of times. One year I couldn't renew online so I called and got a scammer who took over my computer. I had to pay him $200 to get my computer back. I later called Norton and complained. They simply said, "Don't get scammed" They will nickel and dime you to death. So be on guard. Still the protection you get is worth it.

Unfortunately, Norton's name is so well trusted that there are scammers and scammer sites that try to take advantage of new customers after purchase and prior to installation. Unfortunately google searches, etc. are filled with these scam sites. So much so that we had to create an A.I.-based scam detector service called Genie:  https://us.norton.com/products/genie-scam-detector. In order to be sure the bad actors haven’t ‘polluted’ your PC, please contact us at support.norton.com or call 1-866-425-0365 for our support call center. We never require any additional purchases after a product is initially bought, and all our products come with free support. The call center is very busy, but they can help you remove any of the concerns you may have and make *sure* you’re properly protected. Again, sorry for this trouble and hope this helps? norton_us

    Norton is a great security system for the computer. The LifeLock being added on on top of is something that I really appreciate. I would recommend this product if you are looking to switch over from something like McAfee.
