They will charge you in one year $100+ to renew the software. If you try to remove your credit card before the software expires, it will cancel your subscription. This should be ILLEGAL and considered a bait and switch tactic to use their product.

This is a FULL ONE YEAR subscription which only needs a payment method entered for the *optional* renewal. (same way Netflix works) After activation, you can cancel auto-renewal and your software still works for the initial year you purchased. This certainly is not illegal, and understand your possible confusion, but giving people mistaken information certainly doesn’t help a Best Buy customer make an informed decision now, does it? Messages designed to scare you into buying add ons, offers, pop ups about needless scans. You can turn it off but the setting is buried deep.
