Now they want you to add your credit card information so that you can be automatically be renewed when your year is up and they charge your card. If that's the case when you initially setup your computer or product you could just request renewal at that time or renew online. I perfer not to be automatically renewed cause the amount in my opinion obsessive. You can't movw forward without providing credit and or.debit card info.

While it is true that a renewal payment method is required for this license activation, you can IMMEDIATELY turn that off on the Norton.com portal and you will not be charged. It's a convenience factor that many people like, but is not required for your renewal and you can renew year-to-year as you've mentioned. - DWN

I gave up on it a few years ago because it was so resource heavy, it bogged down my system. Well, it is just like I remembered. I visibly slows down my system. Additionally, although full of features (a plus), it is a bit too complicated to set up and feel confident it was done correctly. More complex is not always better. Good product? Yes... but too time and resource intensive for me.
