Solid anti-tracking software

Norton AntiTrack positions itself as a simple way to cut down on online tracking and reduce how much data advertisers can collect while you browse. After spending time with it, the experience feels very much in line with what Norton tends to offer across its software lineup. It is straightforward, accessible, and clearly aimed at people who want better privacy without having to understand the technical details behind browser fingerprinting or tracking scripts.
Setup is quick and largely painless. Installing the app and browser extension takes only a few minutes, and once it is running, most of the work happens quietly in the background. I appreciated that I did not have to tweak a long list of settings to feel like it was doing something useful. The main dashboard shows how many trackers have been blocked and gives a general sense of how often websites are attempting to profile you, which helps make an otherwise invisible problem feel more tangible.
In day-to-day browsing, Norton AntiTrack seems to reduce basic tracking. Targeted ads felt less persistent over time, and the software consistently reported blocking tracking attempts across common sites. That said, the impact is more about incremental improvement than total anonymity. This is not a tool that makes you disappear online, and it does not claim to be. It focuses on masking certain identifying signals and limiting the most common tracking methods rather than stopping every advanced fingerprinting technique in existence.
Performance was generally fine, but not flawless. On occasion, I ran into minor compatibility issues where certain sites did not behave quite as expected until the extension was disabled or refreshed. These moments were not constant, but they were noticeable enough to be mildly frustrating, especially when logging into accounts or navigating more complex websites. It is the kind of friction that privacy tools sometimes introduce, and Norton AntiTrack is no exception.
The subscription model is also worth mentioning. While the annual price is reasonable for what it offers, it does require paying ongoing costs for functionality that some users may already partially get through browser settings or free extensions. Managing the subscription and auto renewal settings is something you need to stay on top of, especially if you are already juggling other Norton products.
Overall, Norton AntiTrack feels like a solid entry-level privacy tool rather than a comprehensive solution. I see it working best for people who want a recognizable brand, an easy interface, and a noticeable reduction in everyday tracking without having to dive into technical privacy workflows. It does not replace a VPN, a secure browser, or more advanced anti-fingerprinting tools, but as a layer of added privacy, it does its job reasonably well. If your goal is to be less tracked rather than completely anonymous, Norton AntiTrack fits that role comfortably.

There was a moment when I realized how much of my online life was being tracked — random ads popping up everywhere, sites pre-filling with stuff I’d only thought about — and that’s when I started running Norton AntiTrack on everything I use regularly. I’ve got it on my Windows Surface Pro (mostly in Chrome) and on my iPhone 17 Pro (Safari), and it’s honestly cut down the creepy follow-me-around behavior better than I expected.
Once installed, AntiTrack goes to work quietly in the background, scrubbing out the little bits of data websites and advertisers try to collect. On the Surface Pro in Chrome, I immediately noticed fewer tailored ads and way less of that “oh, you looked at X” retargeting nonsense. Pages just feel cleaner — like I’m browsing without this invisible tail following me everywhere.
On my iPhone in Safari, it’s the same story. I test a lot of sites and links throughout the day, so seeing a reduction in personalized ad pop-ups and cross-site tracking was a real eye-opener. The privacy score in the app gives a nice snapshot of where you stand and what’s being blocked, which feels more tangible than just “it’s working.”
I also like that AntiTrack doesn’t break sites. Some privacy tools can go too far and stop functionality, but I haven’t run into reload errors or blocked content issues in either Chrome or Safari. Everything just loads normally — except without the trackers peeking over my shoulder.
If you’re on a Surface Pro or iPhone 17 Pro and care about the digital trail you leave behind, this does the job without fanfare. It’s the kind of privacy protection you forget is running — until you notice you’re not being tracked as much anymore.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed and practical review! Your experience really highlights why privacy tools like Norton AntiTrack matter in 2025 and beyond. The way you described the reduction in personalized ads and cross-site tracking—without breaking site functionality—is exactly what many users are looking for. I appreciate that you tested it across both Chrome on your Surface Pro and Safari on your iPhone 17 Pro. That cross-platform consistency, combined with the privacy score feature, makes AntiTrack feel tangible and user-friendly. Your point about it working quietly in the background is a big plus for anyone who wants protection without disruption. Thanks for emphasizing the importance of controlling your digital footprint—it’s a great reminder for anyone concerned about online privacy today.

I'm constantly forced to consider what happens to my data now that I've become so comfortable shopping online, getting news, and interacting on social media platforms online. It's been quite concerning when I'm thinking of something or a topic and happen to be scrolling online and see ads for the very thing I was thinking about. I needed to take some control back and decided on the Norton AntiTrack software to see who's caching my data. Installation was easy, loading and running was fast.
I started an online session and noticed immediately, sites were loading faster, not a lot, but noticeably. The surprise came at the end of my session about an hour later, when I pulled up the Norton app and noticed how many times sites like MSN or Amazon were attempting to track my movements on their affiliate sites, trying to establish a digital fingerprint of me so they could insert ads in my media feeds and sidebars. Not to mention, selling that info to other sites to profit from my surfing data.
It really opened my eyes to the level of privacy intrusion surfing the web causes. You think you're in the comfort of your home thinking about something and impulsively going online to search for it, and yet, the moment you log on, you're instantly pinged, tracked and fingerprinted. It's all in the background so you don't know anything about it if you don't have software like this that, not only tells you who's tracking you, but blocks their attempts giving you back control of your privacy.
The only downside to this might be that some sites (like this one) don't load. It's easy to enable trackers for specific sites by using the extension in the header. Great piece of mind for your online privacy! Get it for all your devices, a must have.

Norton - AntiTrack For Blocking Trackers, while useful, is probably not my favorite piece of software out there. Would I recommend this to someone absolutely, as long as the person lacked the techonological know-how and understanding that would be required for someone to understand how and when to be worried about what websites they are visiting.
That is not to say that this software is not useful, it most definitely is, however, it does cause problems of it’s own. Such as when you have several websites that you need to sign into a day, the software attempts to stop you from being able to correctly use those websites.
Now again, for the technologically advanced person, they would not need this software, but if you’re buying this software for someone that you’re afraid may fall prey to a scammer, or someone you’re afraid may end up going to a phishing website, then by all means, this may be the software for you. My biggest complaint with the software is the way it works with Safari and Google, and the fact that I have had to manually configure it for so many different website. Aside from that issue alone the software appears to work flawlessly and appears to function correctly and do what it needs to do to keep you safe on the internet.

You make an excellent point—this software can be especially helpful for those who aren’t as tech-savvy and want an extra layer of protection against scams and phishing sites. We understand your concerns about having to manually configure settings for certain websites and the challenges with Safari and Google. Your feedback is valuable, and we’ll continue working to improve compatibility and ease of use. It’s great to hear that, aside from those issues, the software functions well and provides the security it’s designed for.

Anti-Tracking NOT Anti-Virus

Intro: It’s important that the user understands that this is not your typical Anti-VIRUS software but rather an Anti-TRACKING software. It takes a lot more computing power and Internet bandwidth to do this in real time, and it shows. As soon as I booted my computer up after installing Norton Anti-track, I immediately noticed that there was a slight hesitation every time I changed websites or search engines. This is because (in my understanding) Norton Anti-track has to fend off an onslaught of Bots from both legitimate and illegitimate software you might have on your computer, that is trying to track your every move online. IF it’s really important to you to remain anonymous, this slight but noticeable hesitation is worth it the protection. However, if you’re willing to pay the lack-of-privacy price of all of the ”FREE” software and apps we’re getting these days, you might prefer to just go-naked, so to speak
FEATURES:
· Hides your email address from online vendors when they ask you for it just to complete the sale. This means they can’t sell it to advertisers.
· Scrambles any Cookie information acquired from your computer, so it can’t be used to track your site visits across the internet.
· Defeats advanced browser fingerprinting techniques sometimes used to take information from your browser even if you refuse cookies.
PROS:
· Easy to set up
· Lots of options to tailor your browsing protection to your needs.
· Can prevent ransomware, malware, & spyware threats
- Contains built-in scam detection powered by advanced AI
CONS:
· In my personal experience Norton AntiTrack slowed down browsing just enough to be noticeable.
· Can be expensive over time since the purchase- price only includes one year of the required annual subscription.
CONCLUSION:
As I said, If Internet tracking and privacy is important to you, Norton AntiTrack will help put your mind at rest.

Hi Daddio, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review! You made an excellent point about clarifying that Norton AntiTrack is focused on privacy and anti-tracking—not antivirus protection. That distinction is important for users to understand. We appreciate your honest feedback on performance and cost. While AntiTrack works hard to block advanced tracking techniques like browser fingerprinting, cookie profiling, and email harvesting, we understand that the slight browsing delay you noticed can be a trade-off for stronger privacy. Your perspective helps others weigh that balance. It’s great to hear you found setup easy and appreciated the customizable options. Your feature highlights—like hiding email addresses and defeating fingerprinting—capture the core benefits of AntiTrack perfectly. Thank you again for sharing your experience. If you’d like tips on optimizing settings to reduce any slowdown while maintaining strong protection, we’d be happy to help!

Norton Anti track is a great tool created by a reputable company that has been in the cybersecurity space for many years. Most people don't realize that every little thing you do online is tracked and a digital profile is being created based on your browsing. These digital profiles allow companies and data brokers to target you and even sell data. Some of this data can eventually be used maliciously against you in the future. Norton Anti track is a great tool that works with both Windows and Mac. Once purchased you can download the software using the redemption code sent to you by Norton. Once downloaded you add an extension to your browser which then seamlessly blocks tracking cookies and keeps your digital fingerprint hidden from the website. I have tried different anti tracking tools in the past however they all seemed to affect my browsing experience. Norton Anti track however works quietly in the background as if it was not even there. Once you open the dashboard however it is quite alarming to see the amount of trackers being blocked on a daily basis. I was shocked at how many attempts were made by everyday websites that seem harmless.
Norton has done a great job in creating a tool to help conserve some privacy while browsing the web

When it comes to internet security, you have to take things extremely serious. From virus protection, all the way to anti-tracking, Norton has the product to help keep your devices, and your privacy, safe.
The Norton - AntiTrack software is a great way to keep your browsing activity safe from "unwanted eyes." One of the greatest features is Norton - AntiTrack's ability to stop so many of those terrible targeting ads. I know we ALL hate it when you search one thing, and next thing you know, you are hit with one million ads of what you just searched. I personally find that extremely annoying.
Another great feature of the Norton - AntiTrack is the ability to see who is tracking your data. You get a detailed report of the information.
If you are all about privacy, you need Norton - AntiTrack. For the price point, you really can't go wrong. My private information is extremely valuable to me. Just the fact that it saves me from all of those unwanted ads is worth the price.
I would definitely recommend Norton - AntiTrack.

Longtime Norton/Lifelock security user, and thought this might be a nice compliment to the package. It does work, I'll start with that. It blocks ad traffic and shows the analytics on what's being blocked, how many times and which site. The browser extension is easy to use and installs seamlessly.
The things I'm not totally impressed with are the following:
- It doesn't integrate into the Norton 360 app. It seems like a no brainer that, if you are a current subscriber to the Norton product, that this would just be something within the app that you could activate. It's not, it's a separate app.
- It doesn't give a ton of customization options, especially regarding notifications. It is CONSTANTLY putting a pop-up on the screen about signing up for private email. If I wanted that feature, I would use it. But I'm getting sick of clearing an extra pop-up constantly. And you can't turn it off! It might drive me to un-install this if it doesn't go away.
- It alters the functionality of websites and requires you to know that you have to go into the app and ask it to fix the problem, or disable to blocker for that site if it still doesn't work. A lot of people won't know how to do that, and will think there's something majorly wrong with their computer/phone and just delete this app.
Overall, the bones are there for something that would be helpful. But without being able to customize, without being able to get rid of the stupid email pop-up, and having to do a bunch of clicks to just log-in to a website, this falls short.
I would not recommend it until these are fixed.

The Norton AntiTrack is designed to block tracking cookies and trackers in general. In my scenario I only used it on my iPhone as it was a 1 year subscription for 1 device. The app and sign in was easy and quick. Download the app and activate the service, make a login, activate the app for the phone and I was up and running. The app serves as a dashboard so you can see which website we’re targeting you and trying to track your information. The app does its job and covers up your “digital footprint” which you can toggle on and off in your browser.
What I have learned during my use of this app is that it blocks me from websites I use. It wouldn’t let me login into accounts online and it really was a pain to use. Even toggling off the app still didn’t let me login to one of my online accounts. I thought it was the website, turned off Norton and I still couldn’t gain access. I deleted the Norton app, gained access to everything and never looked back. I can’t stand it when these services block me from what I need to do.
I recommend you only use this app if you truly need to have your tracking data blocked. You may need to delete and re download the app when you need to access certain websites….i just don’t have time for that.

My install of Norton Antitrack software didn’t start on a very good note.
After receiving the email with the code, I went to the website to download and before the download started my browser gave me a ‘danger non verified file’. Nothing like getting a file security warning while trying to download security software.
I went ahead and downloaded and installed it anyway.
After the extension was installed to my browser of choice, Chrome, I have sync turned on so it also automatically added the extension to my other computers. I only have a 1 pc license so the extension only works on 1 pc. The other pc’s the extension was installed on automatically with sync, but you can’t edit any settings like allowing specific websites. The only way around this was to turn off sync on my browser, or I have to disable/enable the extension depending on which pc I’m working on
In use I’m not really seeing Norton anti tracker block anything that my other free extensions and security software do either.
If you’re looking into this software I’d say keep looking, there are better, cheaper, more useful options out there.
