Impressive Results - Power and Convenience

I like mixing things up as much as the next guy, but wasn't really sure it was possible to get all that excited about a blender. I have to admit, the Nutri Ninja Duo really impressed me, though. The product is described as having two separate functions... extraction and fusion. That really translates to the fact that it works as a blender and a food processor, respectively. As far as blenders go, it's super convenient and powerful. For a food processor, it's a bit small, but still very powerful. This model comes with a variety of mixing cups for blender mode, each one with a "sip and seal" lid. That's turned out to be very convenient. It's nice to be able to store a sauce or take a smoothie to go without pouring it from a blender carafe into something else first. It's also really quite powerful. Maybe not as powerful as blenders that advertise the ability to cook a soup by spinning it so fast, but this thing has turned ice cubes and frozen fruit into a smooth, pourable consistency in minutes without hesitation. Instead of a long strip of buttons like you may see on traditional blenders, the Nutri Ninja Duo has just a few modes: Smoothie and Extract for the blender mode; Mix, Chop, and Dough for the food processor mode. So far, I've found them to be pretty good at doing what they're supposed to do. Overall, I'm happy with the Nutri Ninja Duo. We've certainly been enjoying a lot more smoothies and fruit juices than before getting it. My only complaint is that it's rather loud. We live in an apartment building and avoid using it too early or late so we don't get complaints from our neighbors.

Disclaimer - I received this product from Best Buy in exchange for a fair and unbiased review. So when I see the Ninja brand, I generally think to myself "this is powerful but a bit underwhelming when it comes to performance." I've owned a couple of Ninja products in the past, and while they worked, they didn't work as well as I expected for the specs they boasted (1000 watt motors, 3 pairs of blades, etc). Not the Blendmax Duo. Boasting the kind of power and requiring the kind of wattage that makes the lights throughout your home dim as it runs, the Blendmax Duo has the swagger to take on and destroy anything you put inside of the 88 ounce pitcher or any of the smoothie cups. In under a minute, it'll take strawberries, frozen mango, and ice and give you a smoothie that goes up against anything you'd get at a place that charges $5-something for the same thing. If you like frozen margaritas or daiquiris, it won't take very long for this to get them just right - and as an added bonus, you can make yours with some true top-shelf liquors instead of the cheap stuff. Milkshakes also come out in a hurry, with the consistency of a real ice cream shop and not a fast food drive-thru. Now keep in mind that with great power comes the ability to trip circuits - don't operate this and a toaster at the same time (my wife learned that lesson the hard way). Don't use this with a thin extension cord; the power draw this blender has will cause typical household cords to fail miserably. Also, I didn't throw my iPhone into the pitcher to find out what would happen (there are a series of web videos about this), but I'm pretty sure that would be a not-so-good idea if you were to try that yourself. All in all, I have to say that Ninja impressed me with the BlendMax Duo. The combination of Herculean power with the flexibility afforded by the system has truly impressed me. I use this at least once every three days, versus every once in a while for my previous Ninja blender or maybe once a year for the blender I received before that. The auto-IQ functionality takes the guesswork out of making drinks, and having both blending cups (similar to the machines named after projectiles) and a traditional pitcher means you can throw anything at this machine and it'll return a smooth, delicious beverage.

This blender is great for Smoothies. It can tackle frozen fruit, ice and nuts without any problem. The base has 1600w of power with several automatic programs to take the guesswork out of the best settings for the task you want. There are 3 cups for smoothies and a large blender perfect for frozen drinks. This blender also doubles as a food processor. You can use the blender with its "ninja stacked blades to blend up some salsa, guacamole or a great Meatloaf. The suction cups on the base prevent the blender from walking across your counter. Make sure you check out the great recipe book that comes with the blender to give you an idea what you can do with this blender.

I've never been a fan of blended drinks, that is until I used this blender. With my other blender my drinks, shakes, smoothies would always end up with large lumps of ice or pieces of frozen fruit. This blender has produced nothing but perfectly blended drinks, that rival the local smoothy shop. The pre-programmed settings allow you to fill the container with your favorite ingredients press the desired button and walk away the blender will do the rest, even boosting the speed of the blade when needed to break up those pesky lumps. I have made Quad berry smoothies (Strawberries, Raspberries, Blue-Berries, and blackberries) with a bunch of Chia seeds to see if it was powerful enough to break through the notoriously tough seeds and much to my surprise the drink was silky and smooth. This was an immediate 5-star rating from me. My only complaint is that the suction cups are extremely strong, a suction release would be extremely helpful for moving this unit around the counter top. The unit comes with: 1600 watt Motor base (~2.2 hp) with Auto-iQ Boost 88 oz. pitcher Lid and pour spout which locks securely to the large pitcher Three tier Ninja blade assembly 2 - 24 oz.Tritan Nutri Ninja Cups 1 - 18oz. Tritan Nutri Ninja Cups 3 spout lids for taking your blended drinks on the road. 20-recipe inspiration guide This blender is well worth the investment and highly recommended.

    Powerful and reliable Blender

First at all, let me start by saying that this blender is the most powerful one I have ever tried. You can feel it that anything you put, even rocks will be pulverized, the 1600 W are for real on this unit. I was reading about this unit and it has something relatively new called “Total Crushing Technology”, which is a patented blade that does the very well done job for crushing and pulverizing whole fruits and veggies. And continuing on the same topic, no shaking the jug and no stirring. Then we have the other regular selector for different level of power and speed. It is a little noisy, but it is something that you have to expect if you are buying a powerful blender. I don’t mind this detail. To clean up is very easy, filling the blender with water turn on for few seconds and that is all. The only reason I am giving only 4 star is because it is not glass, is triton, that that is just me, probably for someone else that detail wouldn’t matter, so it would be 5 stars…

    Awesome Machine

Having owned the regular ninja blender, and now the Nutri Ninja Duo, I can confirm that the Ninja makes powerful machines. The Ninja's blades extend 40% of the way into the cup, and makes short work of any ingredient you put in. Keep in mind though that means you need to put apples and such in the bottom of the blender cup, and the softer ingredients on top, so the blade can fit. And for cleaning the blender all you have to do is add water and a drop of dish soap and shake it or blend it and it gets completely clean. The food processor works like any other food processor. The powerful motors tears apart stubborn fruits and veggies. You can also buy an optional coffee and herb grinder for $16.95, which I am seriously considering. This thing is a beast when it comes to making smoothies, it really does blend everything down. One draw back to the system is the noise. This a very LOUD blender. If you are in the market for a multi function blender, the Nutri Ninja DUO won't disappoint. The enhanced power and breadth of included accessories makes it a great addition to the kitchen. Overall this is a great buy for the price for the things this machine does. If you want to start eating healthier, I'd recommend this appliance to totally change the way you eat. You'd be surprised at how much of a difference a change in diet can make to the way you feel and your overall health. I own a few kitchen appliances and I have to admit this has quickly become one of my favorites.

I was in the market to replace my old Black and Decker blender. It was at last 6 years old and having difficulty making a decent smoothie. When I saw the Ninja blender with Auto-iq I knew it would be a great replacement. My primary use is for smoothies and it does a great job of breaking down the ice into a perfect consistency. I especially like the Auto-iq where you select what type of blend you want and then press Auto-iq and the blender will pulse and pause automatically so that the contents can settle before automatically restarting. The count down digital display will tell you at a glance how much time is left for your blend. The Ninja comes with the standard pitcher like a normal blender but it also has 3 smoothie cups (1 medium sized and 2 large) and 3 screw on caps with flip open drinking spouts. I especially like the smoothie glasses so I'm not having to clean the big pitcher every time. And they are perfect size for on the go. The only small knock I can give it is that it is tall and doesn't fit under my cupboard with the pitcher attached. It just means I'll have to find another permanent spot for it or move it out from under the cupboard whenever I want to use it. This is only a very slight inconvenience. I can't wait to explore the other features of the Ninja but for what I use blenders for it's perfect.

This thing is awesome! The unboxing was a little difficult, as the device is stuffed in there like a jigsaw puzzle. But once we got everything out, it looked rather awe inspiring. The blender assembly is large and also includes a large and small container (like "other" smoothie producing devices). The base for this is huge and solid, but that's a good thing. We put the blender to work first, to see how well it could pulverize some ice. Wow, we had fine snow in a matter of seconds. No bogging down, no issues with large particles. Next we tried the Nutri-Ninja container. We tried a concoction of whole apples, bananas, carrots, and pineapple pieces with ice. It blended them to a very fine smooth liquid quickly with NO hunks, large pieces or seeds. The Auto IQ system is fabulous as it pauses, pushes liquids up and blends them quite well. Much better than other company's devices. We went back to the blender and tried to have it do some chopped salad. It worked flawlessly! This is a very impressive duo! One issue though, the box and ads make it seem as there are two bases; not true, only one 1300 watt base, but one blender and two Nutri-Ninja cups. Other than that, it truly has Total Crushing blades and is worth every penny. Good Shopping!

    My new favorite kitchen appliance

Out of all small kitchen appliances, the blender is the one I use on a daily basis making it a critical component of my kitchen. I make smoothies almost every morning, the occasional blended coffee drink, and ice cream shakes. I prefer all my drinks thicker, proving on the demanding side for your average blender. The nutri ninja, while pricy is a dream to use. It’s fast and blends well and evenly so I don't have to remove the container and shake the drink I'm making to ensure it's mixed consistently throughout. Additionally, I had an issue portioning and would often have drink left over that I would either have to throw out or store. The personal cups are perfect for this and have my spoiled. I was skeptical of the plastic containers – my last blender had glass which, while at risk to breakage felt more luxurious. The plastic the cups and pitcher are made of feels strong. I dropped the pitcher the first day I had it and it survived unscathed. Overall, it's a great blender with few downsides, it's a little large compared to some, but the size for more power trade-off is definitely worth it. It's also loud, but a small price to pay for a thoroughly blended drink.

    Another hit from Shark/Ninja!

The Shark/Ninja company have become one of the main companies I rely on for a lot of my small home appliances. From the Shark vacuums to this blender I cannot say enough about the value you get out of their products. I got this blender/smoothie maker as a Christmas present for my gf and loved it so much I had to get me one. The base of the unit has small suctions cups that help it stay in place so you don't have to worry about it being knocked over. I haven't used the blender yet as what I'll mostly be using it for is to make smoothies, and on that front this thing does that Extremely well. I use to have a competitors product that I didn't think was to bad for the price, but did not have the functionality of this and in my experience did not puree the smoothie like the Ninja does. For the price you pay for this, I think you get a lot of value for the money and a high quality product. It's not all that quite, but I've never used any blender that was! It comes with the large blender, 3 cups, and the base. The Nutri Ninja is an awesome product from a company that has never let me down from my first Shark vacuum back in 2011!

I know it's a new product and it seems exciting. But I have been using this product for a good couple of weeks now and I have never been really active on a blender as I am now because of this. The Auto IQ makes everything easy. The manual itself, does not only make you understand how to use the product but also suggests what you can use it for--- and makes it easy. For example, I got ingredients and fruits for smoothies and I can easily mix and match what I need. the Auto IQ has self-settings on how to make whatever you make-- smoothie, frozen drink, etc. It is noisy though-- but I think this is what you will expect from the power it has. It comes with different containers so I can easily switch the size depending on how much I want to make. I like that one of the lids has a open/close spout-- I can easily bring my smoothie to work wihout having to transfer containers. Cleaning is easy too-- honestly, I didn't check if it is dishwasher safe, I just placed the containers in there and they get easily cleaned by the dishwasher. Very happy with this blender!

The Nutri-Ninja Duo blends with effortless ease. The first drink I made was a cold brew coffee mocha, half of which is ice, and I could not believe how the blender destroyed that ice with no problems in about 5 seconds. One of the best thing about the Ninja system is how easy clean up is.

I have owned numerous blenders in the past to make smoothies out of frozen fruit, blended ice drinks (pina colada & margaritas), and protein shakes. Most blenders could do one or the other well, but the BlendMax Duo can do both very well. One strange but ingenious feature is the suction cup feet at the bottom, which prevents the BlendMax from vibrating all over the counter at high loads. I have been using the blender daily for a week and have had no issues other than the fact that it is very loud. Every blender that is as strong as the BlendMax Duo has the noise issue though so it’s not a real knock on it. When I need to blend a lot, I use the 88oz pitcher which uses a unique approach to making sure everything is blended perfectly. I have only experienced blenders with blade assemblies at the bottom, and this is the first time I have seen a blender with blades throughout the jar, which results in properly blended drinks, smoothies, salsas, and anything else you need blended really. When I am making a smoothie for myself I use one of the Ninja cups, pop on one of the lids and take it with me. This is much more convenient than making a smoothie in my other blender and putting the smoothie in my screw cap cups I have since it is faster you use the Ninja cups and reduces the dish washing I have to do. A bonus for me is the food processor which I found handy in making chopped salsas when I was too lazy to cut up the ingredients. In my opinion it is always better to hand cut anything you want chopped, but the food processor comes through when in a bind/lazy. There There is a plastic blade that is meant for mixing dough that I did not use, but do see the utility in. Pros: Able to make blended iced drinks perfectly. Blades throughout the 88oz jar Ninja cups with lids are great at making to-go smoothies Food processor is a nice add-on Auto-IQ settings do exactly what they say they do Replaced 2 products (my blender and single serve smoothie maker) Lots of accessories Cons: Is loud

This replaced our aging blender, a traditional stand up blender with 14 speeds. What a difference! This new blender is a 'smart' blender with programs in addition to speeds that makes it way easier to make consistent drinks. Everything except the base goes into the dishwasher which makes cleanup easy. The extractor cups and base have made this a regular counter item in our house, instead of hidden away for parties only. The one touch smoothie program makes it really easy. The extra power is really nice for big jobs, we were able to mix up peanut butter cookie dough in the blender! The suction cup feet are surprising strong and do a nice job preventing the blender from vibrating around.

I've gone through several high end blenders, and i have never found one that i can say i loved... Until now. This thing is great, it starts and stops on its own, no shaking or anything like that and it blends fantastic, no chunks at all no matter what i have thrown at it. My strawberry daiquiris are top notch with this. Its well made with some heft behind it and it stays totally stable while in use, its really easy to assemble and really easy to clean, the spout makes this thing a breeze to use. Veggies get chopped up well also, not puree but chopped more than enough for you cooking needs. This is by far the best blender you can get today and you would be mad to miss it.

The Ninja - Nutri Ninja Blendmax Blender gives you extreme amounts of power and is able to crush anything, be it ice or any hard fruit or vegetables. It is not only able to crush everything, it is able to that evenly. So all your smoothies and milkshakes have an even texture which is very important to me. It has numerous buttons to set your blending options. No shaking the jug. No stirring. It blended and paused all on its own, resulting in a smooth refreshing drink. There are also two 24 oz. cups made out Triton. The only drawback is that it is extremely loud. So if live in a small apartment or a collage dorm, you will wake everyone up.

If you've had a Ninja blender before, you are in for a treat. This model outshines the performance of any previous versions (I know because I've previously owned two Ninja blenders). The blending jar is huge 88 oz, I haven't made anything large enough to fill it up, but it is nice to know I can make margaritas for a large crowd. I love the timer on the blender, not necessary, but nice to see how long it's been on. The buttons on the machine itself all have a purpose. That is to say it's not overly complex. The one complaint and it's a big one, both literally and figuratively, is that the base is large. The width and footprint doesn't bother me as much as the height. Combine the height of the base with the height of an 88 oz pitcher and you have a large blender taking up your counter space. If you have cabinets above your counter top where you'd place the blender make sure they're high enough!! I didn't and can't keep the pitcher attached to the base but in a separate cabinet. I do like the separate "titan cups" which are similar to a Nutribullet. The powerful base and blade combo whips up frozen fruit and makes smooth as silk smoothies to take on the go in no time. I would recommend this device based on the titan travel cups alone.
