Runs too hot!

Only giving three stars though because the box was damaged upon arrival. They didn't package it with any air bubbles which for a product this expensive is a bit ridiculous

I bought the fe edition thru Best Buy. I installed it and to be honest I'm not that impressed. I had a EVGA 1080 ultra before this cards. I lost frame rate on two of my favorite games. SCP|SL had around 3 or 4 FPS less and same thing with WOWS. I play on a 1440p 165 hz monitor with the performance settings turn on in the operating system and in Nvidia software. I did not feel like Jenson from Nvidia would let me down because I have owned Nvidia cards since 480 series but the 3080 sure let me down.

as loud and hot as a jet engine

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the fan design is kind of ridiculous... if you have a cpu tower cooler it blasts hot air straight into your heat sinc. it also thermal throttles unless you replace the thermal pads because the memory runs at like 110c as soon as you overclock it. and it can throtle on stock clocks too. just a crappy design all around. it also sounds like a fighter jet taking off under any load. but you take what you can get.

As you know, it takes a while to get these cards to arrive at your store so I picked this up about 12 days after placing the order. Along w/ it there's a game bundle from nvidia, little did I know this had to be redeemed within a very short amount of time because non of the product details or redemption email BB sent stated any "by date". Fast forward to today when I tried to redeem it, the code had expired and after getting kicked around between Best Buy and Nvidia, they basically gave me the middle finger :) Yes, I bought the GPU mainly for it and not the game, but how little time Nvidia does these promo and the completely lack of willingness to help from both BB and Nvidia will make me take my money else where in the future.

Buzzing

Sadly to say I will not purchase cards from them anymore. Very disappointed!
