The great GPU vs bot war of 2020

3080 might be the last bang for buck GPU we'll get until maybe the 5000 or 6000 series. This was by far the most sought after card during the pandemic. Luckily got it against bots before there were any protection against them. Been over 3 and a half years now and she's still playing great. Sure, no longer can play AAA games maxed out but more than enough. Going to keep her after replacement just for the great design and history of sentimental value for me lol.

    Amazing graphics card

Incredible performance. I upgraded from the GTX 1080 to the 3080 it's a bit overkill for 1440p but I've been consistently hitting 144fps with ultra settings. Ray tracing is really impressive and I feel that it's going to be really important in this upcoming generation. The card is whisper quiet and barely hits 72 even when under full load. I'm in a NZXT H210. In addition I've been enjoying using RTX voice and studio for my online classes. overall this card is a great buy.

Had to return my card as it did not work and they did not have a replacement for me as this card is very hard to get. No back order or replacement was even offered very displeased.

Camped outside Best Buy on 08/26/21!

Had to camp outside Best Buy for this bad boy, absolutely love it with my ultra wide 1440p 144hz monitor. Gets well above 144 FPS and that’s all I was looking for on max settings. Even with ray tracing on it stays pretty high 80-90 frames. I would recommend this for the price point and the value it brings for performance well worth the money if you can get one. Looks like BB is only doing in store drops for these guys from now on so better camp out or pay scalper prices. I will say knowing I paid retail for this makes me feel good about my purchase. I applaud BB for doing what they can to get these into the hands of actual customers and not scalpers who want to flip them. 10/10 would recommend one of these cards.

This card is perfect. It can be loud but with headphones on usually, you don't hear it unless you try to. Runs every game high quality it high fps. Ray tracing doesn't run weirdly. It all around is perfect. It is overkill for some games, but this card is amazing if you want to play high-quality games. surpasses expectations 11/10

great card for the price, also non-LHR is nice. It was easy to install, no issues what so ever. Just make sure to use 2 independent power cables to the card and not a daisy-chain.

Don't do what I did unless you have the money to burn and won't mind seeing it go: I bought this card from a scalper. However, I will say that in the current market and for my current situation, it was well worth it! I've been into PC gaming for about a half a decade now, and to be able to play games at 4k60ultra is fantastic! I could only dream of that years ago. I won't go into the specifics of the kind of results to expect based off mine because mileage varies from card to card because of that never-dying silicon lottery. Expected mileage is what benchmarking reviewers can show you. However, a 3070 would have made me very happy with 4k60ultra gaming, as well, so why did I get a 3080? Well, my wife started liking PC gaming at an unfortunate time (early 2021, when cards like the 3080 were regularly selling for 300% MSRP). So, I'm currently using this card in my gaming computer for both my wife and I to play games off of it at the same time. I followed Craft Computing's recent "Two Gamers, One GPU from your Windows PC! Hyper-V Paravirtualization Build and Tutorial" video to learn how to make virtual machines that can not only share your main computer's CPU, RAM, and storage, but also its GPU. So, using Parsec, we both get to play all our favorite games with no compromises to graphical quality - at least, not at 1080p highest details, even with high refresh rates! For something like this, I would definitely recommend a motherboard with multiple Ethernet ports and a high core-count CPU. I'm sure one port would suffice, but it's just much, much easier to have her machine on its own network controller to minimize network-related bottlenecks to one machine. The high core-count CPU should be fairly self-explanatory - I recommend an eight-core CPU at least, with ten or more being preferable, if you're like us and enjoy CPU-intensive games. GPU-intensive games would probably be fine on a six-core CPU, even for two people. All-in-all, this is an amazing card, and with GPU's unlocking of virtualization, I couldn't be happier that I have one - even if I paid "too much" for it - and neither could my wife!
