Customers are saying

Customers value the GeForce RTX 3080's high performance and competitive price, frequently praising its powerful GPU and effective cooling system. Many appreciate the card's design and its ability to handle ray tracing well, although some experienced noticeable fan noise or coil whine. While power consumption is a concern for some, others found it acceptable.

My computer rips now along with a 5800x. I had a 3070 in prior to this purchase and the 3080 made a huge difference.

Bought this card on 11/20/2020 .. its paired with a 5900x and a 3440x1440 ultrawide. Its a beast of a card, and can be quiet if installed in an air flow pc case.

Wow! I got really lucky with this drop and it's probably the best purchase I've made. I've never made a big purchase on a gpu before and this was definitely worth it! It performs really well and smooth. Great for 2k gaming and even if you have 1080p this is still really great! I have good cooling in my case and I am using msi afterburner for the fan curve. My temps usually staggers around 54-60 degree Celsius under full load.

Fantastic card! Ran a little hot for my liking at stock settings, but after an undervolt and slight underclock, I'm getting the same stock performance in game with lower temps and lower power draw. It's not all about overclocking!! Also, I'm running it on a 650w platinum Corsair PSU paired with a Ryzen 5 3600, so unless you are running an i9 or other high TDP cpu you'll be okay using a quality 650w PSU.

I'm giving this 5 stars because it was the only 3080 available at the "original" MSRP when I purchased it, otherwise it would have been 4 stars. This card is very well designed and it cools impressively well for being a dual slot air cooled above-300W GPU. My main complaint surrounds the GDDR6X temperatures. I'm not mining or anything, just primarily gaming, and the VRAM tjunc temperatures regularly hit 105C in my 22C (72F) degree ambient room in a well ventilated case. Nvidia has claimed that these temperatures are well within spec for long term use, but Micron has been hesitant to release the datasheet for GDDR6X as quickly as they had for GDDR5, GDDR5X and GDDR6; all three of those previous VRAM iterations having 95C as their safe maximum temperature for long term use. I don't think this will severely impact the longevity for the average casual PC gamer, but I would be concerned with purchasing second-hand GDDR6X GPUs (3070 Ti, 3080, 3080 Ti, 3090) that were used for mining that don't have excellent VRAM cooling capabilities. Another great aspect to this GPU is its ability to undervolt. I was able to achieve an 1875MHz core clock at less than 900 millivolts (sub 0.9v). This brings power consumption down by around 65-75W under full load which reduces coil whine, fan noise, and temperatures while only losing maybe 1-3% performance. All and all this is a very well built GPU and I'm doubtful that this "deal" at MSRP for such a high quality reference version will last very long.

I was lucky to get through and order a 3080 RTX on one of the brief drops before they sold out. The 3080 works perfectly in my Ncase M1 and runs cooler the the 1080 GTX I was using. Temperatures can be dropped even further by under volting as described in several You Tube tutorials. I am glad that Best Buy made it difficult for bots to buy all the available supply instantly or I wouldn't have been able to by one. Awesome card!

Been using this for almost a year. Excellent card performance is the sweet spot for 1440p gaming. FE card looks sleek and clean. Nvidia has had new drivers every few weeks. Paired with Intel i7. TMy only complaint is the amount of heat this card generates. It can warm my entire office in a matter of minutes.

This card can push 1440 165hz in most games no problem. That said, this thing takes quite a bit of power and has vram that runs hot. Especially in smaller cases. However, it does stay relatively quiet and looks pretty great.

Amazing performance at an amazing price, incredibly lucky to receive such performance at msrp. The founders edition is the most premium gpu in terms of presentation and feel. No plastic lightweight garbage. This gpu is beautiful.

While this card was really hard to get my hands on, it has been worth the effort. The 3080FE runs really quiet compared to my previous 1080ti, and performs really well. All this considering it's also the least expensive version of the card, I am very pleased. Finally, the design is unique and eye catching. The RGB is kept to a minimum, and I don't feel that it needs the lighting. The design stands up on it's own.

It was incredibly difficult to get a hold of this GPU. In the end, it's one of the thinnest 3080 available for SFFPCs. There's noticeable coil whine and the fans really ramp up.

Plays all my titles flawlessly! I primarily play WoW, however, this card seems to take everything that I throw at it just fine. Valheim, WoW, Cyberpunk, it goes along like no big deal. Plus for the price, it's the best bang for it. Unfortunately it's been extremely difficult to obtain, but I'm glad I was able to get one.

This card is the sweet spot for the high-end RTX cards of this generation. It is the best value of any 3080, and it is competitive with card tiers above it for gaming. The cooler design is fantastic keeping the GDDR6X well within spec under load. My only complaint is the central power connector that makes cable management more difficult.

For the price ($700), you can't ask for a better-performing graphics card. I have been using it for CAD, games (Madden, Fifa, warzone) and also using Nicehash for mining (steady 90MH/s) when I am not doing anything else, sometimes for 24 hr continuously. It never ran very hot, just the memory temperature can reach 100C when using Nicehash. I would have paid $1000-1200 happily for this performance.

This Founders Edition is a workhorse GPU......if you can get one. The limited availability has put this card in a bad light somewhat, but it is a very powerful GPU. This card is great for gaming at 1440 and some 4k. It will run pretty much whatever you throw at it. Runs very quiet which is nice. I stood in line for a while to get this, but very happy with the purchase.
