Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the GeForce RTX 3090's outstanding performance and excellent GPU, with many praising its efficient cooling and solid build quality. However, some users find the card's high price and large size to be drawbacks. A few also reported experiencing coil whine and noted its high power consumption and substantial weight.

Card suffers from some throttling issue. Cheapest of the 3090s so that's a plus.

It’s the best graphics card in the market right now, but the price can’t justify the performance of the card. But we’re in a chip shortage right now when everything is scalped, what can you do. The card is beautiful, but the cooling is insufficient, nVidia can do better given this card costs $1500.

Biggest let down ever, the performance is no where close to what they say it is. The price i way too much. I built my first pc w this card and spared 0 expense. To find out i couldnt run warzone at 240fps. Nvidia agreed i should get 300+ fps rma card and it was the same. I was getting around 200 max w huge drops. I sold the card as a result of this. My build wasnt junk neither not even close. The deceit by nvidia and others is crazy. Kills me how nobody talks about this stuff. It does not perform as advertised and is WAY overpriced. Has me second guessing even getting into pc gaming etc.

Giving it 4 stars because I had to wait out in the cold overnight to get it. I can’t complain too much because I got it at MSRP. However it wasn’t the GPU I wanted and I basically still ended up paying what I would have paid a scalper.

    Overheating Issues

Overheating issues - Overall the card is great but its performance was significantly hampered by thermal issues out of the box. The memory would overheat causing the card to thermal throttle meaning it was never using the full potential power. I pulled it apart and put better thermal pads on it. This is a well known issue with these cards. Now with the new pads the memory temperature is not the limiting factor for performance. Really sad to have such a common and massive problem on such an expensive card.

Well, it’s a basic card with decent performance. It runs hotter and louder since it’s blower style gpu. I suggest going with triple fans third party gpu if you want better cooling, better overclocking/performance.

A pretty hefty chunk of steel and cash - especially for it to be having the problems it does. The processor cooling is alright, but the memory heats up way too much. I'm having a persistent sound issue when trying to stream and the problem has been narrowed down to the 3090 not playing nice with ANY audio interface that I have. Ironically my old 1060 has no issue with the audio loads that cause distortion and crackling with the 3090. Not happy. Wish I would have gone 3rd party or Radeon.

Curbside pickup was easy. The box of my gpu came with a dent in it. Gpu itself is fine and puts out good performance.

To be honest I did not liked much of this FE building, it has a chronic high temperature on vrans in high intensive ram consuming tasks like Mining.
