Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the GeForce RTX 3090's outstanding performance and excellent GPU, with many praising its efficient cooling and solid build quality. However, some users find the card's high price and large size to be drawbacks. A few also reported experiencing coil whine and noted its high power consumption and substantial weight.

Good look at real reviews from trusted sources, not random people. Having said that this GPU is great but overpriced, get a 3080. The 3090 has 10% better performance at nearly 2x the price. Why did I buy it? Cause I could, there's a worldwide shortage right now and for the past year. So if you have the money and can actually buy this card get it. Even if you regret it you can flip it for more than you paid. But if you're reading this in the future and you can buy any GPU your heart desires then get a 3080. Or some other card they haven't even released when I wrote this. Basically go read actual reviews from Tom's Hardware, Gamers Nexus, IGN, etc.

Top tier performance for a surprising 2021 value

It is crazy to state that $1500 for a GPU is a good value but in 2021 MSRP for a 3090 suddenly became less of a bad impulse buy. Truly a beast of a card and happy to future proof a bit. I would say go for a 3080 if you can but considering how much a non-FE 3080 costs these days. You might consider the 3090 FE if you can get one and expect to use the expanded VRAM in the future.

Look- we all know the cons on this thing. It's the price, but if you're looking at it, then you know what you're getting into. Is it worth it? I make games for a living and I play games for fun. For me, it is. But unless you have a reason to produce high end content, you don't need this. A 3080 will do just fine for half the price. If you have the need and the means...

The RTX3090 requires at least 750watt power supply. It is the most powerful graphics card on the market. However its diminishing return can't be avoided, you gain 10 to 15% over the RTX3080, but pay more than 100% more money than the RTX3080. If money is no object then the RTX3090 is the best video card available today, just remember that cost versus raw performance isn't great.

Ive owned a lot of graphics cards in my time and this one takes the cake and eats it too! It. is. massive and I love it! It runs cool in my o11 dynamic case with 3 fans mounted on the bottom of the case. It runs quiet out of the box(~800-1000rpm) but I turn it up to about 60% fans speed and its still quiet! Boosts up nicely(over 2ghz), and runs all my games at 1440p UWQHD with ease.

Runs great, but runs hot. My specific unit did OK before thermal pad change, gaming @ 80-85C. Much cooler after replacement. PSA: be very careful when getting these used later on. If they are running the FE 24/7 @ >100C, by the time you get it, it ain't gonna run for much longer.

It is big, bad and the fastest card money can buy today. The temps on this card are actually really good, the memory is a little toasty buy not above 80C so I don't think I'll bother replacing the thermal pads. Only complaint is that nvidias drivers have been pretty terrible so I'm running ones from December but hopefully with time they get better.

This is a big one - 4.7 pounds, triple slot. Spectacular performance, but the price is hard to swallow. Only reason I got this is because I tried for and missed the 3080 several times. If you can get the 3080 FE, get that instead. Most of the performance of the 3090 for less than half the price. But if you want the best of the best, this is it.

For the right here and the right now this card is the cat-meow! with a big bark driving it!! I am one that typically embraces new cutting-edge computer items. That said I bypassed the 2080 series in favor of saving my pennies for whatever would emerge as a big enough leap in performance. I am here to tell you it was worth the wait and the savings coupled with amazing performance now adorning my rig. I purchased this to PC game and game I have. I run a decent setup anchored by an Intel Core i7 8700K and now this as it’s GPU (replaced TitanXP). The programs/simulations/games that I have thrown at this fricken GPU have literally been shredded by it. I really enjoy flight simulations; MSFS 2020 and DCS are the two I currently favor and all I can say is wow, holy smokes OMG or whatever because I cranked the graphics settings to 4K max and both remained pleasantly flyable with MSFS averaging 40-50 fps and never going below 24 fps. Arma3,Borderlands 2/, WoWs and RedDeadRed 2 all display beautifully and buttery smooth. Virtual Reality Headset (Vive Pro) displays buttery smooth. What else can I say, for me the 3090 was and is the way to go. I also believe that once programmers start using the extra video memories and features available on this card, that programs will continually look better!

The 3090 is a solid reliable card. With its 24 GB of VRAM it can the go to card for a long time. I’ve experienced no issues with this card.

This thing is a monster and overkill in every sense of the word. This card is massive! Make sure you have a large enough case to fit this beast in. I was really looking for a 3080 but since those do not exist right now and my budget is flexible I figured why not. This is a truly excellent card and everything about it is great except for the price.

Bought the 3090 because the VRAM on the 3080 seemed too little for me. Is this card worth $1500? No. But if you want the best performance before you can realistically get a 3080 TI, this is the card. Unfortunately Big Navi 2 seems to lag behind for workstation tasks (and RTX if that's a big thing for you, it wasn't for me) so Nvidia will be the way to go.

Amazing gpu, handles the most demanding vr sim racing rig with ease and has enough vram for rendering in blender. The 3080 is powerful but lacks sufficient vram for this application. Early production models had issues with poor thermals but the one i got is great. Expensive but worth it for sure

Really enjoying the performance uplift coming from an older GTX 980. Easily handles everything I throw at it. While it is a bigger card, I had no issues fitting it in my case. The included 2x 8pin Y adapter for the new 12pin layout connected without issues and allowed me to use my existing power supply. Overall a very satisfying graphics card.

This unit is over priced, most people would be fine with a 3080, and there are better 3090s out there for a small increase in price. This GPU is a piece of art and engineering. I dont regret buying it. I did have terrible temps though and had to replace thermal pads which i guess killed the warranty, but once i did its fantastic. I dont regret buying one due to the shortage, i consider myself lucky to have one at all. But if the circumstances were different, id have waited for a 3rd party model like the asus tuf or kingpin. Most people shouldnt have to deal with high temps due to bad themal pads.
