I purchased this because of its pass through capabilities. My Apple TV was not letting my receiver do its job. Once I started using the Shield I realized that it is a better streaming device than my Apple TV. In addition to its pass through abilities, it processes commands very fast, has a great remote and a fraction of the cost of the Apple TV.

Works well. Easy to use. Great for streaming. Great value.

Was waiting for the pro but decided to pull the trigger on the non Pro version - no regrets. Same PQ, same SQ, and sits hidden out of the way behind my TV. Only streaming player that passes all of the new sound and picture formats. Only downside is HDR from youTube which is about the only thing I use my Roku Ultra for these days...

The best streaming device with with 4k upscale capabilties

I currently own the 2017 model which is great! The big difference is enhanced picture Al upscaling/4k high dynamic range/ and high quality sound/Dolby vision Atmos/at your command Google assistant/works with Alexa! Don't forget Nvidia Tegra X1 processor/256 core Nvidia GPU! Great entertainment! You will love it! I do!

best streaming box for video quality especially 4K upscaling and for audio quality. Fast processing, smooth scrolling of interface. Would be nice to have mute button. Also would be nice to add a couple of buttons to learn IR commands.

I had the Firestick and upgraded to the Shield TV. The Shield TV interface is fast, customizable and does not have any annoying banner ads like the Firestick has. With the AI picture enhancer there is a big difference in picture quality over the Firestick and those pixelated black boxes that appear during dark scenes have disappeared.

Strong processor coupled with a 1GbE network pot standard push the abilities of this device for cord-cutters to the next level. I use this for content streaming and it does not disappoint. It costs more than other devices in the category, but the enhanced functionality in many cases will prove worth the investment.

We recently found out that Samsung doesn't support the tv we bought only a couple of years ago and we can no longer add apps to our TV. The salesperson recommended Nvidia Shield - and we are so glad he did! It was much less than buying a new tv and works perfectly! We highly recommend it!

The Shield players are more expensive than most of the other brands, but make up for it with their performance. If you are looking for a device for Plex streaming, these are the best players you can find. They can direct play far more formats than any other plug in device.

Nice value when you want Android TV, but don't want to spend the extra money for a game console. Wish it had more memory to install more apps.

I loved my last Shield TV and this one is the fantastic. Lots of positive things to make the experience better. Controlling the TV power and volume, light up buttons, remote location via the app or a button on the main device.

Tired of the limitations of other streamers, took the plunge and purchased Shield TV. First, the picture quality zooms up to reveal details and colors without introducing noise. Even the quality of sound became more definitive. Big bonus, the non-technical wife can operate with ease!!!!

The Nvidia Shield does an amazing job of improving in accessing your content and upscaling it to 4k. My only issue with the device is the design of the hardware as it's a very awkward design with cables sticking out of both ends making it difficult to set in a clean position on my TV stand.
