With this device I can now just focus on the TV display, features and not worry about the built in apps. The little remote works so well I got a 2nd one for my older shield tv. Sine I don’t game on it I didn’t get the pro version since I own the gaming version as well.

We decided to become cord cutters and originally purchased Roku's for all of our televisions but then ran across the Nvidia Shield so we purchased one to compare the two. Well needless to say, we loved the Nvidia Shield so much that we have so far purchased three and plan on purchasing more for our remaining televisions in our home. If anyone out there is looking to do the same, we recommend you buy the Nvidia shield. Sure they cost more, but they are so much better. We hope they lower the prices though ; )

This thing flies through the channels and has almost no buffering at all. I am still shocked how fast it can pick up from changing the channel with no buffering or quality loss using Prime or You Tube tv. This thing blows away a fire stick\fire tv when it comes to performance.

There is nothing I could say that hasn't been said already. This is the best you can get as far as a streaming device. Very easy to use this android box and you can play games with the Nvidia game remote sold separately. Get you one you will not regret it. Cut the cord!

I have used different kind and brands (cheap ones) of TV boxes and had always problems with them (memory issues, freezing, update problems etc) The Shield is really perfectly designed and performance is top to the best!

Baptist replace a firestick and completely happy with the speed the possibility of expanded memory is abuse only issue is sometimes I can't find certain apps that was easier on the Amazon purchase screen otherwise known that completely satisfied connects directly to the ethernet

So my case isnt normal but I'm out in the sticks and DSL is the best I can get so streaming high def isn't happening but with the upscaling it's much better. I did however return this for the pro so that I could use an external hard drive to store my library.

I have the older version of the Nvidia Shield and decided to try the newer model. It is smaller with the same excellent graphics with the option for a ss card. Will recommended this device to all my family and friends. Outperforms the fire stick in every Category.

Outstanding! Coming from a older android TV box I gotta say this is by far the best purchase I made Setting up was easy it was running up in less than 10 minutes The image quality is great The features are great The support for older game controllers is great I would easily recommend it to anyone

While the device works fine in almost all cases, if you are wanting to do anything with Plex/Kodi/Emby, and especially 4K HDR content, you should definitely get the Pro version. With less RAM and only 32-bit app support, I was getting constant lockups in aforementioned apps, and spotty 4K playback of HDR content -- even in apps such as Netflix. Extra $50 eliminated all these problems.

Great smart media player with excellent AI upscale and love the ecosystem that nvidia brings to the table, everything works speedy fast, just every once in awhile when I play a 4k movie on plex sometimes it freezes and boots me out. Besides that it’s pretty powerful

Bought this to reeplace broken 4k roku but I returned it to buy the newer 4k roku with the misssing remote button. Roku's os just seems better, or maybe im just used to it Very expensive Weird design Not user friendly (it is, but its not as easy compared to roku)

I love the NVIDIA Shield. It was good 4 years ago and it's still good now. Each iteration has gotten better. The remote is finally good. I love it. It's got a lot of power in a small package. This is my favorite streaming device by far.

I really wanted the pro, but they were sold out. However I’m completely happy with this. It’s fast and I got it to turn the tv on when it wakes. Also it works with seemingly all formats, now I can stream Twitch and even Facebook from my phone/tablet to my tv.

Good device with handy remote controller, but still struggling to get soundbar and subwoffer work with it get better use of sound capability.

I really love the functionality and menu layout. Very fast and super clear picture. Could definitely use a more detailed setup guide on simple things like how to open the remote to get access to the batteries and to program to control the tv.

The Nvida Shield is one of the best video streaming devices I have used. It's fast when it comes to connecting to streaming services and its AI mode that upscales regular dvd and bluray is the frosting on the cake. For me it's just the best.

Great for streaming games and movies, minus one star for subpar Plex implementation. High bit rate 4k movies have issues in native app. Otherwise, awesome overall little streaming tube, just wish I had went with the pro model for the extra gig of RAM.

So this device basically puts Android on your TV. It has all the multimedia and streaming apps you could dream of. But while many devices and and built in TV app provide this, the Nvidia Shield TV offers GeForce Now game streaming on your TV. Basically, GeForce Now allows you to stream many games on Steam (that you have purchased) to your TV without the need of a gaming computer, or any computer at all. As long as you have a good internet connection, it works great. Just a small subscription fee per month (also works on phones!!) That's my main use but it also has a built in Chromecast so that's cool. Works with 4K HDR content so it's great for media lovers and gamers .
