Best streaming device for advanced equipment configurations. Allows very good 4K streaming and advanced audio options s that other streaming devices do not support. Also does 4K and 1080P upscaling for lower resolution content. Android powered and small and cool operation.

If you have used the Nvidia Shield TV in the past than you will love this new version. The remote is a definite upgrade and I am happy with this purchase. I also own an Apple TV and prefer the Nvidia Shield since it doesn’t come with all of the restrictions that come along with the Apple.

I purchased the NVidia shield on a wimb to see how it improved my streaming on my Smart TV. I have a Samsung Q80 and LG CX as my two main tvs. The Samsung has every app I use while the LG CX was missing HBO Plus and Hallmark which the wife watches. So I loaded it up in both rooms and it had all the apps and the picture was decent however the Hulu Live service seemed to freeze more than it does on both the Samsung and LG tvs when streaming. I have never had freeze issues on the standard smart TVs on any of my primary services. Hulu, Netflix, Disney +, etc. After verifying the bandwidth was solid ~500 down on Mesh Network 1 gig at modem, it still didn't seem to improve. Ended up returning them and I will be sticking with my standard Smart TV streaming service since they're integrated into menu and quality is just as good.

The Nvidia shield are definitely the best devices in the market, I have tried several other that claimed to be the best but they don't come even close to this one. I have three of these devices in my home and I love it, once you get the new google tv UI it’s even better.

Bought a top of the line sound bar, then realized my Roku didn't support Atmos. Had never heard of this devices before, but was reported to have unmatched upscale so I gave it a chance. No regrets, the upscale is great, and the sound and connectivity is excellent.

Works well. However the remote falls apart any time it falls off the couch (dog, kids - it happens) and it has started bugging us about running out of space even though we just put in an sd card with plenty.

I give this a four only because the remote sometimes doesn’t respond and the shield itself sometimes overheats. Other than those things, this product gets the job done. Loads apps fast and has sufficient storage, but has the option to expand storage if needed.

Pretty good streamer, I was disappointed in fact there is no USB port. I also had to reboot once as it got stupid. I am reasonably satisfied though and form factor hides behind kitchen tv. Wife binge watches Netflix while cooking and loves it.

Honestly, not impressed. If you are going to have a product at the same price point as an apple tv 4k, it better compete. It just doesnt. Poor resolution UI sets a bad start, youtube didnt support HDR. It was fast and snappy but it was just missing thst next level experience. Picture was noisy on most apps. I honestly like my chromecast 4k more and it is 1/3 the cost. Unless you want to use its gaming features, buy the apple tv 4k instead.

I have 2 pro version and one of these. Love em all. I stream from an iptv service and from the shields is a considerably better picture experience over the smart tvs and Google tv dongles I have.

Bought this shield as an alternative to Apple TV and it did not disappoint! Quality of video is amazing on an OLED display. Minus 1 star for awkward plug design but overall it’s a great product.

I transitioned from Roku as the remote failed on me and after multiple resets and battery changes would not resurrect. After reading about Shield, planned to use it. Was impressed with the flexibility, responsiveness and user experience. Keep it up Nvidia, keep innovating

I wanted to try something new and heard about the nvidia shield and wanted to see if it was legit. It downloads apps very quickly and is totally customizable. I am very pleased with my purchase and expanding the memory is a must if you plan on doing alot with it.

My review is solely based on streaming. I did not use this nvidia shield tv for any gaming. The device its really good when it works. I've used this with a Vizio Quantum P X TV. The AI upscaling that this device puts out its really good. It makes 1080p content look sharper but without over doing it. It plays dolby vision and dolby atmos content beautifully. My gripe with it it that the software is very buggy. I have to be resetting it like 2 to 3 times I week because it either freezes or it will simply not turn on at all. I've had it for three months now it it has just become a hassle to have to troubleshoot it so often.

I Like it fastest media player I have owned, had many this is the best so far hope it keeps working. Would buy again if had to but hope I do not have to. Do wish had more internal memory but thats ok still bet player I have ever had. Thanks

i have 3 shields but this one they should have out a usb port on instead of the slot.if u do not already own a shield i rec spending the extra 40 and getting the pro,esp if u want to game if u are only gonna stream this one is fine.

This shield as a streaming device does a really good job. I like it more than Fire TV or Chromecast. Even though it costs more than those previously mentioned, I think it is worth the upgrade for the smoother 4K streaming.

Great media player. Supports all the lossless audio codecs that roku and most other media players don't. Great support for android games and other apps also. AI upscaling is hit or miss. On video with compression artifacts the sharpening makes it look much worse.
