Had to return since it overheated very quickly when playing HDR / 4K content. Will try the Pro version instead with the hope it does not have the same issue. When it did work, it was great.

Skip this device if you want to playback local 4k media. There is apparently a known issue when playing 4k media that causes the remote to become unresponsive while playing. Actually, the remote lags behind 10-20 seconds. Some locally played 4k media even stutter, buffer and is unplayable. The files in question were between 20-40Mbit, and my Sony TV plays them fine. I used IPERF3 to test the speed of my wireless connection to my media server which was 277Mbit/s. At most I saw the bandwidth jump up to 120Mbit/s when the video would first start, then drop down below 40Mbit/s. So, not a bandwidth issue. The whole reason I got this device was to be able to play everything and be able to do refresh rate switching to match the content. It failed with it's main purpose. From my research the "Pro" version doesn't suffer from this issue.

This is a great streaming device at a pricy cost but it's worth it

I want to love this device so much and if you only used it with 1080p it's great but it is terrible with 4k. When using with 4k it crashes all the time to a white static looking screen. I tried different HDMI cables including ones certified for 8k and it just keeps crashing needing to be unplugged to reboot. It could just be a OLED incompatibility thing but from my experience If you have a 4k TV especially of it's an OLED I would not recommend this. If you have a 1080p TV it works great.
