The nVidia Shield TV has great specs, including built-in gigabit Ethernet, speedy processor and expandable storage. Also, the pure Android TV experience is nice. I have to say, it was not worth the money over the Fire TV that I was coming from. It does not do some of the things that the Fire TV does, that I really missed, like maintaining the last few apps that you’ve opened and parental controls. In fact, I ended up returning the device due to the lack of parental controls, which the Fire TV does well. If you are a gamer, do not have tween or teen kids and love pure Android TV, which performance to boot, you will love the nVidia Shield TV.

Hands down NVIDIA Shield TV are the BEST streaming devices. This is my second one now I also own the 2017 pro. The remote is PERFECT, the old remote was so terrible. This new one is so comfortable, the light up feature is great for my home theater. NVIDIA Shield also up-scales all 1080p content with AI up-scaling to 4K!!!! It's phenomenal. I recommend this over any other streaming device, plus if you backup your own media, you get VLC Media player on this and you get every codec basically for free.

Tons better than the current 4K Firestick. If you have the Klipsch WISA wireless reference speakers setup do the following or you will have intermittent audio issues: Manually set your Shield to only use DTS, DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD. The audio dropout, clipping, popping and speakers swapping places all started after the last two LG TV firmware updates. Most apps support Dolby Digital and DD+, but I’ve noticed DD+ will work on Netflix, but not on Disney +. HBOMax has audio issues if you have Dolby MAT and Dolby Atmos turned on.

Amazing streaming device. I purchased the Shield when my TV's onboard smart software was starting to lag and take forever navigating. The Shield's processor makes quick work of switching from app to app as well as streaming playback. I have a 1GHZ internet connection directly plugged via a CAT7 ethernet cable into the Shield so this thing moves! The design of the remote is also very ergonomic and has good hand feel. Will most likely buy a few more to outfit every TV in the house!

This is first Shield product that I've purchased from their line up. While not the Pro, it most certainly delivers Pro experience, especially compared to the Fire sticks, and Fire TV Cubes. It's a remarkable piece of hardware, and has expandable storage, memory, power and speed. It's simple to setup, and upgrades automatically. I know now that all my next streaming devices will be Shield products over Fire TV. If their one caveat it would there is no proper stand.

Works great , the upscaling is second to none. At times there is a lag if you turn it on after 3 weeks or so but thats understandable.

There have been a couple of software bumps but the updates seem to have cleared the issues. SIze is cool and the picture quality and speed of the interface is unreal.

The Nvidia Shield makes streaming easy. The voice navigation makes finding the program you want to watch easy. The color quality and upconversion to 4K is excellent. You can download and install any streaming service you want. The shelf is regularly updated to enhance the user experience. This is definitely worth purchasing.

Great product for streaming. Reason i gave 4 starts is it does not support apple tv and ATMOS .. i am having hard time playing netflix movies with atmos. I will have to change audio to original each time i play a movie or episode. Hope Nvidia fixes it.

Even though it does not have any USB ports like my Nvidia shield does. It is just a powerful. I am very pleased with this item.

Great streaming device. Very fast and I really enjoy the AI upscale feature. Makes all my 1080p shows really pop on my 4K tv.

This is fast! If you want to use another remote, this item will only do Bluetooth. But the remote included us good but just be keyboard. Overall, great device

Excellent speed, options and useability . Connection speed on WiFi is surprisingly good. Easy to setup and you are ready to go within 5 min.

I've used Roku, Amazon Fire sticks and smart TV's and none of them have preformed as well as this shield. More consistent Wi-Fi connections, picture is awesome with the upscaling and navigation is quick and smooth. Just wish it had the Apple TV app available. I strongly recommend the Nvidia TV Shield if you want to get the most out of your 4K TV.

Love it!! Has everything you need! Great processor and 4k available

I purchased this to replace an obsolete Amazon Fire Stick. After 2 months of use, I will say I am quite pleased with the overall product. The iOS app is user friendly. The best feature is the audible alarm you can activate from the app which allows you to locate the remote when the kids lose it. The device is noticeably larger than the Fire Stick but is compact enough to hide it discreetly to prevent from cluttering up your entertainment center.

This item helps the picture to be more clear and helps you see what the image can be without hesitation

This is my second NVIDIA Shield and I purchased it to replace my FireTV Cube in my bedroom. I knew that it would definitely out-perform the Cube because....let's face it a 25 year old Compaq PC could out-perform a FireTV Cube! So I have to compare it to my other Shield and it certainly is an improvement. The resolution is better, process speed improved, and the remote is soooo much better. The simple fact that it takes AAA batteries instead if button cells wins me over, not to mention the fact that the buttons are back lit.

Works great all apps run fast on the software. Updates are right on point and great picture quality
