Best Android streaming out there. Remote is Great and the unit is fast and responsive. I have fiber optic internet and this thing just flies. Upscaling is about the best out there. Buy the pro if you want usb ports or to play nvidia games

One of the best streaming device I ever had. Great and easy to use interface. Easy to hook up. Easy ton navigate. Easy to install apps etc. but the lost important one is AI up scaling. The upscaling like watching everything on HD.

I've had Chromecasts for a long time, starting with the first gen. However, in the last 2 years I've run ethernet drops throughout my house, and the 100mbps ethernet adapter for the Chromecast TV was a limiting factor. I researched the SHIELD TV and am very happy with my purchase. I have replaced my Chromecasts with these and the better processor, additional memory, and 1gbps ethernet connection makes for a much smoother experience. The beauty of the SHIELD TV products is they are based on the Chromecast TV platform; this made the conversion process very easy for my family as navigation is nearly identical.

We absolutely LOVE this device! It was very easy to set up, there's just one remote to do it all, and the interface is very intuitive. I'd highly recommend the Shield, especially if you have a TV that will not accept HBO Max.

Overall, this is the streamer to get. It pretty much plays anything smoothly you throw at it. The remote is great. The added find my remote feature turned out to be very useful. The thing I don't like is Android TV. It is too clunky and doesn't allow installing apps easily. Android TV apps library is very limites. i can find a lot more useful apps on Fire TV than on the official apps store in Nvidia shield. So i would need to side load apps on the shield. You can still make it work but just not as convenient. Considering the price and the inconvenience in using it, I would not recommend it. It is still a solid streamer .

I love the shield I would reccomend this product to anyone! My only wish was for the product to have more memory space. It fits anywhere and is fast. I have had android boxes and this blows then away.

Best way to turn a regular TV into a smart TV. I've owned Amazon Fire TV sticks, Google chromecast devices and roku devices. Nvidia Shield products are by far the best. Their new remote design is awesome and allows you to use regular regular department store batteries. Performance and pucture quality is superior and Android allows geeks to customize and add lots of other apps and connevtions. Highly recommend over all other alternatives, especially if you have a little geek in you!

This is the NVIDIA Shield 4K HDR. I own the Pro version for my main TV, and ordered this for my bedroom and work out room. I recommend the Pro with opportunity for Plex. Now lets discuss this model. Very impressed, same easy to use interface. Same program, The cylinder look is a bit weird, but trust me, it is the same, just missing lower memory which does not matter, but you can add an SD card. The cylinder look is no big deal, just hide it behind your TV. It provides all the same program look as the Pro does. Strategy: Pro for main TV, and this model for all the rest in your house.

Long story short: it is a powerhouse when we talk about Android boxes. You cannot find any better boxes in the market - well, excluding the Pro version which has a bigger RAM but the same CPU+GPU. Nvidia provides a high-end processor here that is 3-4 times more powerful than Fire TV Cube, the best in Amazon's product line. The advantage in the processor becomes more obvious when you jump in playing Android games. Cons: It doesn't have as many ports (like USB) as the Pro version. But it is significantly cheaper than Pro as well. Summary: You won't regret your purchase :)

The quality of streaming content that is upscaled to 4Kis incredible. This replaced my Amazon Fire stick 4K, which is great value but not as fast, powerful as the Nvidia Shield.

Years ago, the receiver in my bedroom had two HDMI out, so I ran an HDMI cable through the wall, into the bathroom, and installed a wall mount TV in there. Watch the news while I get ready in the morning. The new 4K receiver doesn't, so my bathroom TV became very limited - just what I could cast to it on a Chromecast. I got this, hooked it up behind the TV in the bedroom, plugged it into the HDMI running through the wall, and I'm back in business. The remote works through the wall, I can stream everything I've got, and it follows the CEC guidelines, so just turning on the Shield also turns on the TV. Very nice.

For some reason it struggles to play 4k HDR remuxes on Plex. It may be a Plex issue, but I think it's the low ram on it. It's awesome otherwise. The upscaleing it's worth the money

I own basically every streaming device and this one sets the standard. Shields are the only devices to do raw audio formats in PLEX BTW. The YouTube TV integration is better on the Google TV Chromecast software but overall this is better. It’s fast. 4K AI upscaling is beautiful. (Note you need the Pro version, not this, to run PLEX server on it, which I don’t need)

My TV (sony x900f) runs android OS so I thought this would be a redundant device I may end up returning. After using it for two weeks, safe to say they have a new life long customer. Handles the largest plex files with ease. The Ai upscaling is legit, and the Sheild handles pretty much all files extensions you throw at it. Solve your current and all future smart TV Os needs with this amazing device.

All the content on my TV looks amazing when using the NVIDIA Shield AI powered upscaling future, thanks to the efficiency of the Tegra X1+ processor. The same processor found on the Nintendo switch. Take advantage of the built in ethernet cable port, If you like better results when streaming 4K HDR videos. Other great future are but not limited to, voice control, built-in Google assistant, Bluetooth, Dolby Atmos, SmartThings Link and, a microSD expandable memory slot. However, if your not a gamer, you should buy the 8GB version and not the Pro version.

I've had an Amazon Fire TV Box since they came out. I liked the box much better than the Fire Stick, but after a few years it was getting very sluggish and needed restarting almost daily. I was also on my third remote and figured it was time for an upgrade. I couldn't be happier with the Shield Android TV. This thing is fast, customizable, and works great! A lot of people complain about the design, but for me, it is in the cabinet tucked away. Makes no difference to me. I also love the light up remote. Great feature in the dark.

The Shield is sort of like an overpriced Roku stick or a discount game console, and I think it does a good job of splitting the difference between those two categories. It's an Android TV, which I think is one of the better smart TV UIs available, especially if you're already in the Google ecosystem. It has Google Assistant for smart home control and has a built-in Chromecast so any app or content that isn't available you can cast from your phone. You shouldn't have to worry about that too often though, because pretty much every streaming app you can think of is on here. What makes the Shield different from other streaming sticks is its emphasis on gaming. Games are available directly on the device and through GeForce NOW. With GeForce NOW, games you already own on PC, such as in Steam, can be sent to your Shield or another device. There are also games that are free for Shield owners, such as Bioshock and Tomb Raider, which I have been playing. The games stream great. I'm using an Ethernet connection and have seen no stutter or lag playing Bioshock or Tomb Raider with the Shield controller or with Civilization V from my Steam library using a Bluetooth mouse. If I could, I would give this 4.5 stars. It loses a perfect rating because to really take advantage of its gaming capabilities, you need the game controller and without it, the Shield by itself is fairly expensive. Also while the shape of it looks great, there's no way to stand or set it, especially when you are using Ethernet, as there are cables coming out of both ends of it. I wish all the cables were on one side.

This is a nice tiny unit that doesn't take up much of a footprint for those who care for that sort of thing. This device packs a punch with solid AI upscaling and a solid remote that is great addition (has its own lost remote finder which works great). If you want to use a PLEX server please see the more expensive option as this unit has 1 less gb of ram and won't be sufficient. Also the only thing that really hurts this version is that it doesn't have usb ports which is fine if you are using this device just to stream content you will love this unit. .
