When I purchased this I only had an 1080p tv with ARC and using the plex app on the tv I wasn't getting Atmos/DTS-HD audio to my Denon receiver. The Shield fixed that. The Shield is networked on my LAN, with its Plex client accessing my Plex server on my pc. Shield ouputs Atmos/DTS-HD to Denon receiver which outputs the video untouched to tv. Works perfectly as it says it will. Great product.

You really do get what you pay for with technology MOST of the time. The nVidia Shield isn't going to prove that rule wrong. It is fairly expensive, but the capabilities are far and above any other streaming box out there. If you just want video streaming, look elsewhere for cheaper, but if you want video game streaming and all the bells and whistles, you can find that here.

There is no reason to get cable anymore since this exists.

If your looking for something easily pertable small with some fun games for the kids or adults this might be a good choose half the price of a xbox and a playstation. Only thing i would point out they are still updating new games coming to the console. There arent to many triple a games right now so you might have to wait to get those

Good product for Android gamers! I tested both Shield and Fire TV cube and decided to go with Fire TV cube. I use it mainly for movies and shows not much for gaming. I did not find much difference in the movie content. Also fire tV remote is more responsive. Fire tV was cheaper as well. Otherwise both the products are equally good,

Coming from a firestick this it really seems like the two aren't comparable. The shield is miles better for a multitude of reasons but my favorites are: Customization Wider array of apps w/out hacking/bypassing native interface Better settings options & navigation
