The Nvidia shield plays an excellent part, as it plays through all your apps with a quick and easily accessible speed. It also allows you access to easily tinker with it as well. Being able to have more avenues available allows those who would like to personalize the ever growing technology to their liking. I purchased it once and the strength of the equipment can take us through a decent period; also it's Nvidia so.. Excellent take the chance then do the dance.

The best TV box I have bought, Although the price gives the quality. I like the rescue by artificial intelligence at 4k. Also that it has USB ports, the speed of opening applications is fast. Steam link runs very smoothly. It is only a little slow when turning on the TV, through HDMI CEC the Chromecast is much faster. The same problem as the Chromecast Google TV opens a Netflix profile with a password from the cell phone, I suppose it is a lack of integration on the part of the Netflix app.

Awesome! Best media player I've ever owned. Blows the doors off of our Roku. Works with Plex from my computer and streams perfectly off our network. Installing, switching, starting, and killing apps is extremely easy and so much faster anything else that we use.... and we use a lot! NOTE: This particular model is the high-end of the two Nvidia Shields offered and is well worth the extra money.

It was smaller than i expected and its performance is snappy; much faster than my smart TV. I like the feel of the remote and buttons. The automatic lighting on the remote is a cool feature. The option to setup a Plex server is also nice.

Great device. Bought it as the box from xfinity was not delivering the audio quality for my 11.2 audio ATMOS setup in my theater. I can feel the sounds and separation now!

This is a great little package if you have a 4k TV, like to stream movies, or use the built in plex media server to watch your collection of movies with an excellent on the fly 4K upscaling that is well worth the price of this little box. Remote works well and lights up when you use it in a dark room, so no trouble finding the buttons. To USB slots for your own media to stream elsewhere or watch at home on plex. Standard def streams look like HD when the AI upscaling function is turned on

Excellent media player. Fairly easy set-up with many settings you can tweak if you are into that. easy to install apks. Two cons: Nividia Shield Pro is shown with stand which is not included and it should have been stated in description that the stand has to be purchased separately. Price should have been lower since stand not included. And you will need an Hdmi cable since unit doesn't come with one.

    Solved our streaming problems.

We have long used Roku boxes and been reasonably happy with them, but when we purchased a TV with Dolby Vision wanted something that could support DV content (none of the Roku line does). After a lot of research it was clear this is the best performer of mainstream consumer streaming products, but also the most expensive by a significant margin. So we decided to give the Tivo Stream 4K a try (given the low price and the feature set was worth a shot) and had nothing but trouble with it - its HDMI signal seemed funky and had issues passing through our home theater system from AVR to TV (didn't work well the other way), randomly rebooted, DV was always on regardless of original content format, etc. At that point, realized it was worth paying to just get something that worked, and this has easily been the best streamer we've had. Every single thing works perfectly from the get-go, no random reboots or losing connections, displays everything in its native format, easy to set up and make modifications, etc. Oh, and also the most reliable Chromecast we've had to boot (every other one will sometimes not want to connect or will drop a signal partway through or whatever, this one has worked flawlessly 100% of the time). Oh, and FWIW I dig the remote shape. Looks weird but sits nicely in your hand and has a good heft to it. Not quite as good as the classic Tivo remote (which remains the gold standard for design) but very nice. This to me was a good case of "you get what you pay for." If you *don't* have a need for Dolby Vision, it'd still be hard to argue against a Roku, which can be significantly cheaper and works about 95% as well. But little things like the quicker response time, faster loading of apps/shows, etc., still make this one better if you're willing to pay a little more. Since we do almost all our viewing via streaming services, it's been worth it to us to spend a little more to get better performance out of something we use every day.

This product is amazing, even two years later it has no competition. Nvidia continues to make strides in upscaling and adding new features and applications. Roku, or android TV on devices I have tried up to 2020 do not even compete with the speed of this device. Also the Dolby support for the TV's that have it is amazing. I was also able to install regular google store and run xbox game pass and play full blown games on this with a network cable.

Box already comes loaded with programs, but I also added Kodi to mine to get everything I needed. Adding Kodi not required as there's plenty of free loaded programs for TV, Movies, and Sports. In my opinion definitely worth the price.

The Shield TV Pro has so much going for it, for such a low cost of entry. Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, 4K 60, and runs a Plex Server? All for under $200? Pretty sweet! Oh, it also does AI enhancement on lower resolution content, such as 1080p and lower, or streaming content, like YouTube. It can be hit or miss, but when it hits, it can pretty good, in terms of adding detail. If you need a fast all in one media solution for your home theater, I strongly recommend you give this a look.

Nvidia Shield Android TV Pro.. I actually have had the unit a little over 4 weeks. It is performing very satisfactorily. I have added a 256 GB flash drive so I could record TV Shows.. EASY-PEASY.. Was extremely simple to do. Using it as a plex server.. again, very simple to do.. Quality of picture & sound when playing .. excellent. Only reason I am not strongly recommending the unit, is the price. 200 dollars - When I compare the Shield to the Firestick 4K Pro.. at 55 Dollars, I question if it is worth the additional Money.. For me the answer was yes.

Pros - Fast menu and navigation - Quite a lot of settings to play around with (compared with other android boxes) - Remote control feels well done and not clunky - No complaints so far with the following apps (YoutubeTV, Prime, Netflix and Plex . . . . . . with the exception of audio lag with Prime at times) Cons - Price and availability. You can get other streaming boxes for a lot less money but the Shield PRO feels well built and works like a charm with no glitches . . . . SO FAR

Short version, I love it. Everything works, it’s extremely snappy. For those looking at this vs the regular “tube” shaped version, you get a 1gb Ethernet port vs 100mb on the tube, and USB ports which can be used for external hard drives for things like a Plex server. I have a 5GB external drive hooked up and it works great. The only issue is HBO Max is kinda slow/wonky but that is the same on both versions of the shield.

Bought because my smart TV was limited to a 100 mbps connection. This has a gig commection speed, so the picture looks a lot better (no stair stepping). The only problem right now is that once in awhile the picture goes black once or twice in a day. I havent determined the cause. Otherwise, the device does what I want it to and it includes dolby vision and dolby atmos in addition to HDR.

The Nvidia Shield is my go-to streaming box. It supports all modern video and audio codecs, has excellent upscaling, and runs Android TV which is amazing. Plus you can host Plex on it! It's also super tiny and the remote is easy-to-use and has sufficient buttons to make viewing easy.
