    Very powerful streaming box

Runs every TV app available in the android store, transcodes any video file you throw at it with Plex, and is very fast with streaming games. I tried the free geforcenow trial and played Cyberpunk over the internet with max graphics and it barely broke a sweat. Unless you are absolutely entrenched in the appletv ecosystem, this is the best streaming box you can buy

This device is very easy to setup and start using. It also works extremely well. It's a whole lot faster than the Firestick that I was using before I purchased this. I've only had it for a month, but it's never hung up or reset on me yet. The Firestick did this repeatedly each time I used it.

    Best Android/Google TV streaming device

I used the previous model but decided to upgrade since my TV supports Dolby Vision. I'm glad I made the switch since it does upscaling so well. I like the new remote design. If you fine with your current NVIDIA SHIELD then just stick with it. But if you got yourself a new 4k TV with Dolby Vision and want to take advantage of the AI upscaling then why not upgrade.

The Best Streaming Device On The Market!!

I ordered the 2019 Shield TV Pro because the AI-enhanced upscaling that experts are calling the "best they've ever seen." Upscaling is usually a gimmick and current TVs and receivers do a poor job at it nearly all of the time. The norm when reading expert TV reviews is a recommendation to disable the onboard video upscaling for the best picture quality. I can attest the Shields A.I upscaling does make a big difference and newer TV's will see the biggest difference especially in animations. The interface is better than Fire TV Cube, and the new Fire TV Cube doesn’t have two USB 3.0 inputs for extra storage. You can use any programmable or learning (aka “universal”) IR remote. You can use any Bluetooth controller. You can stream live TV with the right apps if you’re a subscriber to that live TV service. It’s fast. It’s small. It looks pretty cool. Not only does it work, but there is absolutely nothing I can think of that anyone would want to do with it as a video streaming device, that this device can’t do. It is far and away the absolute best device for that purpose.

if you are looking for one of the best android devices for streaming (and if you want to go crazy with some retro gaming) i highly recommend this to everyone. if you are just trying to stream items such as netflix and other apps and looking for something cheaper get a fire tv stick 4k ... those that need a little more power get this device vs the amazon cube (my recommendation)

The #1 Android TV streamer ... bar none. Everything just works. Using it to stream my Plex library along with all other streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+ etc. No issues playing Dolbyvision content and passes through Dolby Atmos to my soundbar without any problems. Extremely responsive menu system and love the backlit remote that is a huge upgrade from the previous version.

Great for Streaming, Doesnt Cut it for Gaming

Initially bought this device to let us access streaming services (our "smart" tv is just getting slower and more buggy over time) as well as streaming games from my Desktop PC to our TV. Works great for streaming services, much faster to load and much more responsive than our aging Roku TV which has apps crashing and freezing constantly. Game streaming on the other hand leaves something to be desired, i set up my computer using Moonlight and while the streaming DID work I found it to be too choppy to be usable, especially the audio. Im going to try a strong Wifi extender as i dont have access to an ethernet port for the device... but i dont really see this being a vibable game streaming option with our fairly standard internet setup. (Ethernet source to Wifi reciever)

Absolutely amazing product, amazing visuals, and the AI Upscaling actually does something! Even better the speed of this thing is crazy, absolutely blows away the built in SmartTV interfaces

You can actually store video files on this device and play them with an app. Dead-nuts simple remote. Add storage with an external device, use apps for streaming. So nice.

I purchased this after buying the new Chromecast and not being impressed with its processing power. It was slow and laggy, even though it was brand new. When I installed the SHIELD even my wife, who isn't very into technology, said how great it felt navigating through menus and how the remote felt better in her hand - and I agree! I love being able to play games from my desktop PC, which is upstairs, on the big 4k TV in my living room. I use wired connections on both ends, and the input delay and latency is virtually unnoticeable - a great contrast to the chromecast where I had significant input delay. The AI upscaling also looks great. Playing 1080p content and upscaling to 4k is nearly indistinguishable from native 4k playback. The remote has a beeper in it so that, of you lose it, you can use the "find remote" feature and the remote will start beeping so you can find it. The remote shape was a little concerning to me because it's so different, but after much use, I like its shape. It doesn't get lost in the couch so easily and it really doesn't feel strange in your hand. Overall, if you are interested in a Android TV device, and want to get the best there is to offer, then look no further. This has all the bells and whistles you could hope for and then some!

I had the last gen shield and it was great on its own. It direct plays almost everything without conversion and just works. The new model adds the AI which cleans up the picture quality for non 4k content and it works really well. There's a great test mode where you can do a split screen comparison and it's clearly noticeable how much sharper it is. Speedwise, I don't notice any difference than the older one. The remote is better than the last one, but I'm still not a huge fan of the triangular shape. Overall, it's still the best streaming device IMO.

The new NVIDIA Shield Pro is by far the best Streamer made, the cost is high, but the reward is worth it. The new processor and ram makes all operations run like a charm, if you want the best, stop wasting your money on inferior products. The new remote is also great, my only complaint with the remote is there is no mute button, other than that you will love the over all capability of this product.

The Shield TV runs every Android TV app I've tried, much faster than my smart TVs (Android or otherwise), and does so much more that it's honestly a little overkill. It can run streaming services, games, smart home apps, antenna TV, etc etc etc with the right accessories. One of these makes the entertainment center complete.

If you've got a 4K setup this is the streaming device to get. Plus, it passes-thru/handles Dolby Atmos and the other high end audio formats. It can also handle Dolby Vision. The only item I would change is the size of the remote (and get rid of the Netflix button as I'm always touching it accidentally). On the plus side, the remote lights up so that's a very good thing.
