Better in all ways other than the UI of Roku Ultra 2019. More codecs supported. Supports Dolby Vision (Roku does not). Sound quality seems better even though they are speced the same. If you only have a soundbar you may not notice the difference. With a full stereo and discrete Atmos speakers it sounds awesome. (Still not as good as Bluray though.) Faster to load all apps. Supports all Android TV apps so you can search the web for TV shows. Only downside is the weird triangle remote and button placement. Took away one star for this. Easy to set up and works great. Very happy with it.

Cant go wrong with this one. Yes its old but even then competes with any other good product. Nvidia brand and can be used for any purpose including gaming etc which is a plus.

Best streaming device I have used. I have owned Apple TV 4K for 2 years and this trumps it in every way. The AI upscaling does a very good job on sub 4k content except for on 2D content such as Anime or Cartoons. The interface is smooth. It has chromecast for streaming, I used it with the Oculus Quest 2. And you can use Nvidia Gamestream or Moonlight to stream games from the cloud or a local PC which is what I do. Just make sure you have a strong internet connection preferably wired and you will be good.

I have always liked what Nvidia has done with their streaming devices and this one doesn't disappoint. I also own the 2015 500GB model. I pair this one with my Samsung S95B and it's an incredible combination. Definitely my favorite streaming device and would recommend this to friends and family, especially if you want the best of the best with continuous updates for years to come.

Nvidia Shield purchased at Best buy excellent product super fast streaming box the best on the market. Great value at Best buy. Quick ez purchase and pickup.

I love my new Shield. It does exactly what I wanted it to do, with little fanfare. Setting up the Shield part was very easy, plug it in, enter your wifi credentials and you're good to go. Setting up the Plex Media Server took a little bit of work, but it wasn't bad. Check online videos for step by step instructions before you get started. I added an external HD for media, and I'm adding movies from my collection every weekend. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I've had this for about a month, still getting used to all the extras in contrast to my roku 4K box and my Firestick 4k's. I like the ease in casting video and sound from my phone to the Shield, the 2 USB slots for external and/or removable storage, the easy to grip remote, and how it can play most audio and video codecs with ease. My only real complaint is that the picture shows the Shield with a stand, but no stand is included in the purchase. A bit misleading, nVidia, NOT cool.

I have an older Samsung Smart TV, and the hardware running the Smart part is getting dated, with some of the apps having been removed because of agreements (Or lack of) with Samsung. The TV is still good. To avoid this, I purchased the Shield Pro to return the performance, and have a better interface/single place to go when using all my streaming services. This really works well. The performance is as advertised, excellent, and I plan to purchase another one for the other TV in the house.

I bought this NVIDIA because I was tired of my Roku devices locking up or taking forever to load. Also Roku is not supporting HBO MAX. WOW what a difference. This thing is seriously fast. Especially compared to the Roku. I love it. On top of that it has a ton of fun games to play on it and I can watch HBO MAX. I wish I would have switched to Android TV a long time ago too. The format is great. Highly recommend!

I've had a number of streaming devices, including an Apple TV, and this is hands down the best there is. Also, streaming sticks work well enough for their price, but this will save you a lot of time and frustration. You will have no more daily annoying problems (slowdowns, crashes, freezing, buffering issues, etc). This is worth the price. I would recommend buying this and using it for years opposed to buying a $30.00 to $50.00 streaming stick (that has small, but rather annoying issues) every year.

Upgraded to this after the Xiaomi Mi box and it's like night and day. This decide works much faster an smoother. The AI upscaling is great too

The Nvidia Shield TV is the best Plex client out there. I own the Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, Roku Ultra and they're not as good as the Nvidia Shield TV. The Roku comes very close, but the audio output through HDMI doesn't sound as clear and wide as the output from the Shield TV. Devices were plugged directly into receiver or soundbar to ensure a direct signal and the Shield always sounded the best. My only complaint is that there aren't many Network TV apps that support Android TV. If you watch anything on the Discovery Networks, too bad. You'll have to cast from your tablet, phone or web browser.

Best 4K steamer. With A.I. upscaling if you're watching something in 1080p it will automatically upscale to 4K! Dolby Atmos, I can keep going!

Love this product- we now have 2! Setting up was easy and the ease of Using the product was even better. Faster than the previous one we had.

Just needed to install a custom loader, not because the provided loader doesn't work, it was more a personal preference The box is fast, and the AI picture enhancement works very well. I haven't tested Dolby Vision because of my TV does not support it, but Dolby Atmos works well I'm very happy with my purchase. I had 3 or 4 Android TV boxes in the past and this one is the best

This was an excellent solution to my streaming problems via PC/Plex. I have an other computer running Win10 and it just wouldn't play 4K HDR10 videos very well (File sizes over 60GB each) via Plex. The Shield Pro is exactly what I needed to be able to stream and AI Enhance all video content to 4K without any noticeable quality loss on my Samsung Q70R. Also I am able to game stream from my gaming PC to the TV with 0 ping via Cat6. I can play racing games and metroidvanina games with ease.

amazing! Best 4k streaming media player fast and with a lot of games to download. Very convenient to use it as a network sharing.

I would recommend this product to anyone with a 4K TV. The Ai upscaling is amazing. It takes standard Movies and upscales them to 4K like quality. The extra level of details is really something you have to see for yourself. The one SNAFu i had with unit was that it would not login to my Orbi Wifi network because i don't have different network names for 2.4g and 5g. Nvidia support was useless. I finally figured it out by changing the bandwidth from Auto to 5g and it connected.

The new version is excellent with Dolby Vision on board with an excellent backlit remote. In addition AI up scaling is worth it.

Hands down the best TV box out there. I have 5 of them in my household. It's Nvidia. Enough said.
