This has been a phenomenal device compared to my Roku or the god awful Firestick and was an easy transition from my old western digital media player. The latest Android TV update completely ruins the clean Home screen that this device once had, now you are blasted with ads that take up half the home screen as soon as you turn it on.

Unless you're buying specifically for steam, save yourself some money and just get a firestick. This devices' streaming ui is a NIGHTMARE. Again, works for gaming...kind of. But if youre thinking of buying this primarily for streaming media, look elsewhere. Just save yourself the hassle.

Don't buy if you're going to just use it for streaming. HDR video quality is not as good as roku and other 4k streaming devices. The price makes it worse when you'll get the same streaming experience with the TIVO or Google android base devices.

Was great until last Google update. Now it's an advertising spam blast. And, depending on your political views and the current state of affairs with popular media, you may be very annoyed by said advertisements. Until Nvidia or Google fix this there is little reason to pay $200. Save your money

not worth the money. Main reason I bought it is to stream my PC games to my living room TV with the Nvidia Stream, which is unfortunately being discontinued. It was a great value until Nvidia decided to pull support for game streaming

Didnt work with gaming controller. Wanted to cast from my pc.

I get it... The box is great for PC to TV game streaming, I guess... but for average usage, my Apple TV was a lot more trouble free and comfortable to use. I have had several issues with sound not working, which seems to be isolated to this box. It's also very picky about WiFi connections, but works good over ethernet.

Worked great initially however started crashing on me a lot while streaming shows/movies. Ran multiple troubleshooting steps and got it to work semi consistent. Last draw was Chromecast Built-in did not work with my Oculus Quest. Overall great product to streamline all streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc)...when it worked.

I ended up returning this because it isnt running the latest OS and seems dated. I think Nvidia has abandoned these devices. Thank you Best Buy return policy.

After 3.5 months, it started to fail. It would reboot on it's own, freeze videos and then proceed to throw up static screens constantly on Plex or YouTube until a hard reboot, and it would regularly unpair the remote. I've had to factory reset it 8 times since I bought it in September to get it to work correctly again, if only for a little while.

Upscaling not that great. Geforce now and xcloud marginal up scalling.

Love nvidia shield… hate that Best Buy tried to pass off an opened item as new. This seems to be happening too often from Best Buy. Was I not supposed to notice the broken seals that were put back together with scotch tape?

Enjoyed using my SHIELD for over a year without issue until this week when they added huge scrolling home screen adverts. This is what you expect from cheap USB streaming dongles not premium $200 set top boxes. If this is not resolved in the next update I plan to sell this and avoid Nvidia for future streaming purchases.

I can't really see the difference between this and the 4k firestick.

At the moment HBO Max does not get 5.1 Audio and they say that is being worked on by one team. Amazon Prime does not get 5.1 Audio and that is being worked on by a different team. And ATMOS audio gets pauses or breaks and who knows what is going on there. The support isn't beyond silly things like switch your cables, etc... The Amazon Firestick is a far better choice if watching movies is your interest no issues with anything on that. I regret this purchase.

I was most excited for this to use with the Xbox and Playstation apps. It was incredibly sluggish and felt like very old tech. For this price, I can get a mini PC and install all the same stuff and more with more speed.

I got this mainly to run Plex client because of the wife range of audio supoort. I can playback pretty much evetything on this device.

It works good for what it is but it's not as user friendly as say a fire TV stick or an android box. For one thing it won't let you install simple apps like Play on TV which is not compatible with it. I would recommend android box or a fire TV over this and they are much cheaper options.
