The device seems to operate just fine but the remote is absolute garbage. For one, why make it the shape of a triangle. Second, why make the bottom button a dedicated Netflix button? I hit that button all the time simply setting the remote down on my side table. Absolutely aggravating. Users should have the ability to change the function of the button that you labeled NETFLIX. Therefore, you shouldn't label the button.

Dont like the fact i can't easily access the internet.

This is what people who want everything and anything to watch should have i mean this little box does it all i have 3 of them and and they pay for themselves over and over again

$200 to get unavoidable ADs every time you use it. No way to turn it off and have to go past them to actually do what you want with your hardware.

Just died, wasn’t really worth it for the price. Before that there were always problems with one thing or another, better to just get an Apple TV and call it a day.

I've had this unit for a couple months and have nothing but problems and Nvidia support is AWOL. First, the GPU has problems decoding 1080i video. Lots of pixelation. So if you plan to use it with something like the HDHomerun for tv stations broadcasting in 1080i, you are out of luck. Apparently this is a known issue, but I found out about this after I purchase it and experienced it first hand. It locks up frequently requiring hard reboot. The remote is flakey. Sometimes the scroll button acts as if you hit the center enter part when you are trying to scroll. The Netflix button is extremely annoying and is way to easy to accidently press, which then stops what you are doing and attempts to load Netflix. There is no reliable way to kill the Netflix button. You can try to remap with an app, but that doesn't always work. I truly regret buying this box and have missed the window of opportunity to return it. I strongly recommend you stay away from this unit.

I have had this now for only 2 months, and it does not work. Nividia will not refund me said they would have to replace it but for two weeks still dont have a replacement. If you want something that works and fast, this is not the product. I wouldnt even give them 1 star if I could. This will not take commands for Alexa. Called Nividia Shield 3 times and they went thru all it will connect to Alexa but it will not take commands for lights plugs and other Alexa items. Also with you go to TV programs it takes a while to connect to the programs. Sets and spends a while before it connects. I have a very fast internet so that is not the problem. Nividia Shield cost alot, thought it would be better than this. Called Support again about it keeps locking up. Will not recommend at all.

It’s outdated and overpriced. Nvidia needs to come out with a better streaming device now one that’s more affordable for everyone.

Will not be recommending this device to anyone. Do not pay an extra 180 believing you will have an add fee experience. Last June Google / Invidia started pushing mandatory updates that activate a non stop add stream on your home screen. I managed to bypass this for a while but now it's back and thus far no way to turn them off. May as well get a 20 dollar box and suffer through the adds with the other 180 still in your pocket. The shield works great, but so do the much cheaper boxes in regards to video quality. I payed extra for what was an add free device. If I could, I would demand a refund.

Amazing device, HOWEVER, there hasn't been a firmware update or Android update for over 5 years. Current other devices won't cast to Shield because of it's untrusted old firmware and 4 versions outdated Android os.

The new update brings a banner ad for shows and services you may not be interested in (including risque content that some might consider "adult"). Apparently all Android TV based devices will have this as part of the default launcher. Until nVidia creates a custom launcher or convinces Google to give users the option of disabling the "Discover Banner", I cannot recommend this product any more.
