This thing is not for everyone. I bought it for the Plex Server and the AI upscaling. The AI upscale is basically an over sharpen filter (just max out the sharpness on your tv and it comes close) its seriously not that great. However the Plex Server is bananas! It does GPU encoding, multi stream (for the fam) and the overall speed is great. Most people that do not need Plex would be better served with a Google TV. The controller although good lack and input button so I STILL have to have the TV remote to switch inputs (for the price this seems to be a MAJOR oversight) The other INSANE letdown is Game streaming (THE ONE THING THIS SHOULD DO FLAWLESSLY) It is very hit or miss. I ended up installing moonlight (funny that a third party uses nvidia tech better than nvidia) In other words unless you need a plex server pass on this device.

i really love my nvidia shield the nice thing about this unit is that it upscales a lower tv resolution up to a higher resolution

The Nvidia Shield with Android TV is the best streaming device available. The Google play store limits your apps but there are plenty of ways to get any app that you want. It is also great for game emulators and GeForce now. You can pair with a PS5 or Xbox controller. I got it on sale too.

I bought this to do 4K streaming with Netflix, etc. but it can do so much more. It comes ready to run a Plex server out of the box, and it can even act as a NAS with an attached external drive. I have been impressed at how long Nvidia has continued to support add new powerful feature to the Shield TV.

By far the best streaming experience available. Also runs its own Plex server nicely. Live the Bluetooth options (keyboard, headphones, game controllers). Replaced the new Chromecast with Google TV with this and could not be happier. Supports any audio or video format you throw at it.

I was getting "FIRESTICK is full" error messages and everyting I did did not work. Steven at the Bend, Or store sold me the Shield TV and it works greet with 3X the storage capacty.

The best streaming device on the market..and it is not even close. This is the best hardware coupled with the best software available on any streaming device. It can play games and supports all Android TV apps. Cheaper devices will get the job done but not as smooth as the Nvidia Shield Pro

I owned the first shield and was very happy with it since I recently got a 4k tv decided to upgrade to the newest model and I can tell the difference in responsiveness and image quality. Love how I didn't have to purchase the nvidia controller to play games I can use one of my extra Xbox/Ps4 controllers.

This is a great media streamer. Plugging it in through an Ethernet cable makes this work at an optimum level. If you love to stream, this is your device.

Purchased this for Plex Media Server and after a few days, I realized that I could just download the app on my Smart TV and had no reason to use the shield. However, I can confirm that you can do so many things with this little thing.

By far the best streaming device out there. I purchased this mainly for IPTV use, after trying an Apple TV and fire stick device. Big difference with the constant buffering I experienced with the other devices. The shield handles streaming any apps seamlessly. Highly recommended.
