Great with a few flaws but still one of the best
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still one of the best streaming devices in 2023 the only con it runs worse on the new android os was better in the older one versions I love the ai enhancing features and I prefer streaming on this more than any other device

All you can hope for!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hardware is more than adequate for streaming services. This device should have a long life expectancy for delivering quality entertainment for at least 3 - 5 years, depending on your personal use case.

The best video streaming device for the money.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went with the pro because it has 64-bit Android OS. Primarily use it for streaming movies on my NAS. VLC is the choice for that as the codecs are good for everything. Only negative is that it does not support DRM when watching live TV my HDHomerun with FIOS service. Two thumbs up!!

Options are endless
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great console to game on. It seems to freeze up sometimes. You can add extra internal storage to it so it being 16GB isn't so bad. I have a Plex server running so I can listen to my music on the go without having to pay for a streaming service. It's a true media server when set up right.

4k playback monster
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought it for Plex usage which, seems to be a love/hate.. It can handle any format I throw at it but, the app itself is quirky. I'm hoping some of this gets ironed out with time as I love that it can handle any media type I throw at it.

Best Android Tv Box Ever!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best android tv device you can purchase. I love the AI upscale feature this thing has. You can notice the difference. Aside from regular streaming apps it's an emulation machine if you know what you're doing. This is all you will ever need for multimedia.

Great box with one caveat
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an LG C1 which is awesome but i prefer the Android OS and the Play Store. That is why I bought the Shield TV. Great little box! Haven't used any of the gaming features yet. So, can't comment on that. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is it can't play YouTube HDR content. Once that is working, easy 5 stars.

Great streaming device
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own 2 of these, and they can stream anything from anywhere without issues. Personally, I'm not a fan of the AI upscaling and the way it changes PQ, but I use a OPPO 203 for anything local so it works out. Also, be warned, this device is on the Google ecosystem, so be prepared for the negatives that come with it.

Exhausting to Setup
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shield Hardware is solid and well built. The options in the settings are absolutely over whelming. WAY TOO MANY CHOICES. Over a week in and i'm still trying to setup the server side.

Only buy this if you want to game on your pc.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So for the price it works great but I wouldn't buy it as a box for your tv. For less you can get the 4k roku and you would be happy. Now if you plan on doing any gaming then you should get this. It has replaced my roku but I do not like the remote and there isn't a find feature if you lose it. The remote is backlit which I like but its design doesn't feel comfortable to use.

Easy to use
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the shield is a decent product for an older smart tv like mine however the 4k upscaling does not work as advertised... the remote could use some work as well.. like a home button and the netflix button is very sensitive.. otherwise this streams pretty good..

Much better than built in TV Apps
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I connected this to my Samsung 4K TV, the apps load much faster on this Shield TV than they do when loaded from the TV's internal apps. The remote is well built and comfortable to hold. It is also very quiet - I didn't notice the fan kicking on at all in my experience.

Meh
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not a gamer. I don't run a Plex server. I'm sure this has other capabilities that I likely will never use. I own 2 Roku Ultras and I am mostly happy with them. What I like: Availability of a decent web browser (Puffin) and up-scaling. What I don't like: the remote. Trying to use this remote by feel is extremely difficult and the Netflix button is easy to accidentally press when picking-up the remote. Although it's not the Shield's fault, the app selection for android TV is a bit skimpy. I have Spectrum TV streaming - no app. Vemo no app. Weather4US - no app. Those 3 are available on Roku. So I don't hate the Shield Pro, but I'm certainly not in love with it. For my usage, the Roku Ultra at less than half the cost would have been a better choice. To submit this I had to choose whether or not to recommend this to a friend - not a binary choice. If my friend wanted the added features of the Shield, then yes i'd recommend it. But if my friend used a streaming player the way I do, then no I wouldn't recommend it.

Up in the Air
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not that sure about this yet. It was pricey and I don't see difference from the Firestick which is much cheaper and they do the same thing. Maybe I'm missing something. It appears to be good. Im curious about your thought if you have one.
