Very great product, I have been waiting for more than a year to purchase this product and it's amazing. I hooked it up to my home theater surround sound and the sound is awesome, the video is crisp and nice, better than fire stick and has more storage space.

It's a solid product. Had a few minor issues crop up occasionally, where the menu of the device would be an entirely green screen. Turning the device on and off solved the issue though, so it isn't the end of the world.

I bought this device in 2024 to begin with and I believe this model has not been updated since 2019 and unfortunately it shows it's dated. I was having issues streaming and stuttering and looking online feels like a lot of people have issues with. Also no reason for this price in 2024 for a 2019 model...if it was cheaper I kind would understand...but for this price feels like better options out there if your usage is mainly streaming

[Employee of bestbuy] Amazing! Way better than the Android TV on my Sony TV. The regular Shield TV would probably suffice, but for the extra $50 why not go pro?

This has been my favorite streaming device. I have used all except the amazon cube. Nvidia has offered the most open selection while operating the fastest I just upgraded to this pro from the original and have already noticed much faster loading times

Nvidia and Google have made a glitchy mess out of what was my favorite streamer. Software after software update and the device has only gotten worse, not better. Now there are advertisements everywhere and core features like in home game streaming have been removed. I can't recommend this device in 2026.

It's faster than my smart TV OS but buggy as hell. I'm hoping a software update will fix the bugs. And the 3 sided remote is a cool idea but it's terrible, always rolling off the arm of my recliner, it's backlit though so that's pretty helpful.

I had the previous gen Shield Pro and eventually sold it and decided to give this one a shot since it now supports 4k. About 3 days after I got it I the now infamous Google TV firmware update happened and of course changed the whole interface changed. The whole reason I got it was for the streamlined android tv UI. Quickly returned it...eventually just got a chromecast. Same UI and about $150 cheaper. If you're not planning on installing gaming apps, emulators, and anything other than basic streaming apps it's not worth the money in my opinion.

Gamestream supp is discontinued, this is pointless

I mainly got this for Nvidia Gamestream, as I have an Nvidia GPU and was hoping to stream my PC games to my TV. But, Nvidia essentially cancelled support for Gamestream a while ago apparently, in favor of their new streaming from the cloud service, geforce Now. Like it essentially works by manually adding all of your games, but any new game is going to miss out on most of the benefits of Gamestream, such as HDR, auto game settings, and I think there were a few other things. One thing of note is Gamestream supports 4k, whereas Geforce Now maxes out at 1080p. There are other game streaming services you can use, such as Moonlight I think it was called, which actually worked very well and had a lot of options, or Steam Link, but at that point why pay $200 for this thing when you could get any cheap Android TV/any of the several other devices for way cheaper that offer that same functionality? I tested out streaming with just about every service, Rain something or another, Parsec, Gamestream, Moonlight, and Steam Link. I have a mid range wifi 6 Asus router, and my gaming PC has a wifi 6 card in it. This shield only has wifi ac/5. I tested them all in each different setting, wired from PC, wifi from PC, wired to shield, wifi to shield. Really, if you want a smooth experience with minimal stuttering, you pretty much have to have both devices wired. Having one or the other wired wasn't toooo bad, but you got a decent amount of hitching/stuttering. Even wired, you would think it would be flawless at that point, but there was occasional hitching, was very compressed, and there was very noticeable input lag. For the price of this thing, you might as well just get a game console, in my opinion. This thing has a Tegra X1 chip, which is essentially useless unless you're big into Android games. I'm not too familiar with compression/decompression, but apparently there is a new codec or whatever that is support to be superior, h265 I think it was. I tried enabling that in some of the streaming apps, and it didn't seem to work, it kept defaulting to a different decompression codec. So I really don't know if the power of this thing would help in decompression for streaming games. I've tried various devices in the past, and they all seem to have about the same result of being less than ideal in even the best circumstances, with a lot of compression and input lag. I really don't see the point of this. A lot of TV's have android TV built in anymore, and even if they don't you can get a cheap android TV or any of the myriad streaming devices they have anymore. There's really nothing Nvidia specific about this that has any real benefit. There are better options for streaming games from your PC. I think Geforce Now and all those streaming services are terrible, they will always stutter and have input lag, but that doesn't stop these companies from seeing dollar signs and trying to force it on people. Is Geforce Now available on other Android devices? If so, that would make this even more pointless. Even the stand shown in all of the pictures for this, you have to buy that separately.

I have purchased 3 of these. One for each TV in my home. This makes every single TV look better. I have a Sony 950H, a LG CX OLED and a Samsung QN90A. All are stepped up several levels in image quality with the processing on this device.

I got this because my wife mentioned how it could play games but it took some time because once we opened it and attempted to connect to play the games that are on there, it would not work. The library games on here is hands down better then the one on the apple TV though.

Easy to install and operate. Like the full-size USB ports making it easy to connect external drives. May be conneced to a TV tuner to it which allows us to watch and record local TV channels. It does it require a special USB cable to connect it to a computer.

I picked one of these up for my projector set up. Allows me to do just about anything on the big screen. Great load times with bad internet. This thing forsure gets 5 stars. Also it's super small so it sits right on top the sound bar. Remote is awesome too.
