Meh, seems abandoned
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ended up returning this because it isnt running the latest OS and seems dated. I think Nvidia has abandoned these devices. Thank you Best Buy return policy.

Eh.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't really see the difference between this and the 4k firestick.

Poor unit and service....
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At the moment HBO Max does not get 5.1 Audio and they say that is being worked on by one team. Amazon Prime does not get 5.1 Audio and that is being worked on by a different team. And ATMOS audio gets pauses or breaks and who knows what is going on there. The support isn't beyond silly things like switch your cables, etc... The Amazon Firestick is a far better choice if watching movies is your interest no issues with anything on that. I regret this purchase.

Absolute trash
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 3.5 months, it started to fail. It would reboot on it's own, freeze videos and then proceed to throw up static screens constantly on Plex or YouTube until a hard reboot, and it would regularly unpair the remote. I've had to factory reset it 8 times since I bought it in September to get it to work correctly again, if only for a little while.

Don’t waste your money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Doesn’t matter where you buy this (I’ve bought from Amazon and BestBuy), the Nvidia shield is. Buggy mess at the best of times.

Fine for Streaming, Not Great for Gaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was most excited for this to use with the Xbox and Playstation apps. It was incredibly sluggish and felt like very old tech. For this price, I can get a mini PC and install all the same stuff and more with more speed.

Should have done more reasearch
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works good for what it is but it's not as user friendly as say a fire TV stick or an android box. For one thing it won't let you install simple apps like Play on TV which is not compatible with it. I would recommend android box or a fire TV over this and they are much cheaper options.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this mainly to run Plex client because of the wife range of audio supoort. I can playback pretty much evetything on this device.

Don't bother, it's full of ads
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would return this if I could. I decided to pay extra to get a premium device only for the home screen to be plastered with ads within a month of the purchase. The ads cannot be disabled and take half of the home screen, truly despicable. Some ads are also borderline explicit, so it's definitely not safe for children.

ALERT: INCOMPATIBLE WITH HULU
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device does not support HULU! There is absolutely no fix. I have spent countless hours on the phone with HULU and Nvidia customer service and both companies have come to terms with and mutually agreed that their technology is incompatible with each other. To spend $200 on a device and be unable to use arguable the best live streaming TV app (HULU) on the device is beyond unacceptable. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Not good enough
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it for the impression that it would provide many cheap or free games that could be steam. This device was slow and it took a long time to load. You need to wait a long time for free games to become available to join multiplayer.

Not Reliable, Quality Issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the Nvidia Shield Pro a lot, EXCEPT, they don't last. I am on to my second Shield in 2 years and my 3rd remote which stopped working after one month. Poor quality.

WiFi Issues
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unit was not new was obvious was returned defective then place right back on the store shelf. The batteries where already installed in the remote and the remote was paired I've never seen that before. But the main issue is the WiFi initially worked then stop working. Tried all the online tips / tricks WiFi would not work (connect or when connected performance bad). Yes home internet works just fine for my other 15+ devices. Returned to store, looking for an alternative to Shield.

DO NOT BUY!!! IT WILL NOT WORK AS A PLEX SERVER!!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give this ZERO STARS if I could. EVERY TIME you turn it off, it will NOT find your PLEX server the next time you start it up and then you spend about 2 hours trying to get your server to connect again. VERY BIG WASTE OF TIME. It's not the PLEX app because I had it running on my computer for YEARS and never had a server issue. I've had this piece of crap for 3 days, had to delete everything and start over again 2 times. If you want to watch movies on your hard drive, just save yourself some time and plug the hard drive directly into the back of the TV.

Not worth the money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It doesn't support HDR through youtube, nor the new youtube codecs which may also trickle down to other services. As nice as some of the features were, for my use case it was not nearly worth the 200 dollar entry fee. The killer app for this device was supposed to be the AI upscaling, but I sort of noticed lower native quality using this box than the built in apps on my tv, then the upscaler brought it more in line with my tvs built in processing. Very odd, and in my opinion, not worth the money.
